Oh what a week, can I erase it from my memory? Can I catch up all that sleep I lost? Or take away all the tears I have cried from worry? It’s been one of the hardest weekest ever parenting this week along with everything else that has been going on, I feel drained. I feel broken and depleated.
The short version of it, my littlest woke up last Friday with bumps covering her entire body. Slowly over the following six days she was consumed with it. No one could tell us what was happening and numerous doctors appointments along with numerous guesses had me in tears. It’s so hard as parents you feel everything they feel but you also have the added worry. My stomach is still in knots with the constant trying to determine what it could be. We saw a specialist yesterday that gave us a path to move forward with and try but no definite answers. It’s a mystery. I have lost so much sleep over it this week, I feel like my head is too heavy to stand up with. I felt totally helpless too. It’s a horrible combination.
We have also been waiting more answers on my Dad’s stomach cancer as he has undergone intense and aggressive chemo therapy. They are looking to remove his entire stomach within the next two weeks and that’s so unnerving too. I hate the waiting. I hate not being there for my mother to help, to guide, to hug, to support from a far is heart wrenching. I do the best from here but it’s not the same. I pray and hope for a positive outcome with every part of my being.
Ok, enough doom and gloom here on LTM, I know this is supposed to be little “loves” not little “heartaches”. Despite all that’s going on we have had a few moments to skip over to the park and get some much needed fresh air. That’s a highlight of the week for sure. We all desperately needed out of the house.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I started the Grisha Trilogy. It’s a page turner right from the start. I do love a little sci-fantasy if I do say so myself. It’s like Divergent meets Lords of the Rings or somewhere in the middle. I am finishing up Try Not to Breathe as well. I normally don’t start two books at once but I haven’t read much in January as I normally do. I am also desperately trying to catch up on all my favorite blog posts to comment on too. If you think I have been ignoring your blog lately give me a shout out on twitter with a link to your blog post and I will read and comment on it. I owe you all so many! Please forgive me!
I have been listening to a lot of country music while cleaning out the house. It’s been like spring cleaning overhaul and it’s not even spring yet. I also have been listening to my son sing at the top of his lungs 24/7 who thinks he sings amazingly all the sudden. On top of doctor after doctor telling me they have no clue what’s wrong with my daughter. All things that are making my head spin… need I say more here.
This is a bit of a double feature on #littleloves this week, sorry. I am continuing on from last year with my monthly Little Loves Vlogs. Where I sum up my month for my YouTube followers. I noticed a lot of my vlog followers don’t actually read my blog at all and they loved my round ups last year. I won’t do them every week because I love writing them out for you all here too. I will make sure they contain different content as well so it’s not constantly just repeating myself in both places. But the last week of each month I am going to try and sum up the month for my Little Loves. Here is my first of 2017 to sum up January… if you want to take a peak (please).
I know you might have caught glimpse that I had teamed up with Boots Natural Collection and this ISN’T apart of that campaign, I do honestly love it. I haven’t been able to wear lipstick or lipgloss that doesnt’ make my lips break out and so far I can with this range so I am sticking to it. I have been wearing this pink lip gloss all week. No problems. That’s a first in years for me so I had to shout out. You can read (for a cheap plug in) read my five favorites from the range and how to makeover your makeup bag for just £10 here. Needless to say I love my new makebag too. Anything with yellow on it is a must!
Ok so I made some amazing Valentine’s Day recipes that I mentioned last week. My Easy Chocolate Bark is now available and my Marshmallow Pops will be ready next week. However, let’s just focus on the complete and utter PINTEREST FAIL I had this week with another Valentine’s Day recipe. My first attempt at a layered cake with ganache drizzling down the sides. It looks like something from Vampire Diaries that is supposed to frighten you. The layers were uneven and lopsided. I had two layers of vanilla cake and two layers of red velvet. I thought it would be nice for a Valentine’s Day celebration cake. FAIL! The ganache never harden like it was supposed to and continued to run and be googy indefinitely. On the plus side, it tastes amazing.
It’s been lovely with warm lights, beautiful interiors and food as much as the regular gorgoeus kiddos on #LIFECLOSEUP community on instagram this week. Here are a few favorites…. You don’t just have to join in with snaps of your family, don’t forget to include snaps of your favorite corner of your home or a self perhaps, maybe zoom in on your desk. Why not what you are baking and cooking in the kitchen too? It’s all welcome this community is growing rapidly and so much fun, please come join us!
