February is normally the short and sweet month. It holds half term holidays, Valentine’s Day and is the shortest month of the year. I usually love it for all that it brings including those lighter evenings we are starting to see now. However, this year, it’s been plagued with the heartache of being far away from home when my Dad is so ill and having life changing surgery. We have had some tough days within February but I have tried my best to remain positive, happy and strong for my Dad and for my family too. Despite all that the kids being of a young age have kept me going with their constant smiles and silly antics. I am so grateful for the distraction from back home. They keep my mind here with them when it needs to be. We have had a lovely chilled out half term with some amazing one on one quality time with B and I too. As a family, I feel like when something hard challenges you emotionally you almost become stronger and tighter together for it. If that makes sense. I appreciate even the smallest thing as fifteen minutes of playtime with the kids between dinner, homework, and bath/bedtime routines. I am grateful for my family each and every day.
The kids seem to be growing up right before our very eyes. Both keep saying how short their pants are or how tight their coats are and we just can’t keep up with the shopping for them at the moment. Do your children grow this much all the time? Mr P and I can’t believe it. They both also won’t stop eating. Every five minutes I hear, “I’m hungry”. I joked, if we stop feeding them so much will they stop growing so much. But I do love this part of their lives where their personality are in full motion and their little corks and mannerism really stand out. We have had some amazing conversations at the dinner table with us all together. I think that’s been my favorite part of February, our dinner time chats.

So I happily say goodbye to February, we had some good moments in there somewhere but glad to see it pass and looking forward to a warmer, lighter, better March ahead of us. We have a few weekends planned and a few chill out ones too. That always makes the month seem balanced for us. We also booked our trip for Easter to Ireland and our trip to America for the summer so we have so much to look forward to coming up.
