To start off my Baby & Toddler Style Guide I would like to give a little background. I have a son who is 2 years old and when I first found out he was a boy, I was concerned for his fashion sense. Let’s face it the stores out there don’t have nearly half the boy clothes as they do girl clothes, so I was going to have to get creative. I wanted him to have his own style. Was it going to be the surfer dude, country boy, or preppy look. So far I have try a mixture but I seem to be focusing more on the preppy style at the moment. Now for my newest addition to the family, my baby girl is 11 weeks and already her closet is stocked till she is about five years old. Girls are so much more fun to dress because their fashion style can be huge. From leggings, skirts, pants, shirts, dresses, headbands, jackets, shorts, etc. The list is endless, the style combinations are endless. So I decide to share my children’s’ fashion sense along with my yummy mummy weekly blog. Enjoy!
This week I am obsessing over baby girl headbands. Not just your typical floral headbands, but ones full of pearls, lace, and embellishments. Headbands that turn your little girl’s casual outfits into master pieces. These headbands I have picked are just a tiny glimpse of what I have come across. The first one is a white lace band paired with feathery flowers and a silver embellishment in the middle. Perfect to soften those colourful outfits or wear for a special occasion like a wedding or christening. The second one on the right, is astounding; full of pearls, lace, bows, and champagne coloured roses. This headband is a work of art on its own. I recently came across a good friend that I went to high school with, who now makes baby girl headbands and whatever ideas I come up with like this one she will creative. The last headband is more low key but just as eye catching, solid black silky elastic band with a simple black flower paired with a silver embellishment to add that extra bling. I love this black headband when my little girl is dressed in those dark pinks or even paired with this gorgeous Calvin Klein number that I have added. This Calvin Klein black and white dress comes with matching bloomers but my favourite thing to pair with this dress is black leggings and this black headband. The more detailed and the more bling the better this season for my little girl’s head.
This week we are rocking the preppy school look for my son. He is strutting these khaki chinos from Ted Baker that are lined and trimmed on the pockets with navy. I like to pair them with these gorgeous Ralph Lauren tennis shoes with the logo on the side which pulls that navy from shoes to pants together. I am obsessed with stripes for my son. This Tommy Hilfiger stripes collared t-shirt is great for this outfit combo. I like the plain white collars so when you pull over this grey Tommy Hilfiger sweater you can pull the collar through and fold it over, giving it the preppy look. Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren are the most popular brands among my son’s wardrobe. You can always count on these brands for the boys to have those deep dark solid colours free from crazy patterns or truck decals. My son’s fashion style stays along these deep colours of navy, greys, reds, khakis. He has the curliest blonde hair and blue eyes with uncommonly tan skin therefore this style really suits him.
