January 30, 2014Poem 35: Memories of summer I close my eyes, I see it all there, The leaves whistling in the wind. I can hear the river flowing by, Day after day in the sun’s rays. I smell Momma’s cooking through the open window, It’s sweet summer time. Little tots are splashing in the water, The BBQ is on full blast, Extended family members are present, And oh what a beautiful sight. The sky is blue, no sign of clouds, The birds are chirpy overhead. My brothers are throwing the football, My sisters are chasing their kids, Daddy is watching us all, And Momma’s waving out the window. I close my eyes, I see it all there, The memories of sweet summer time.
