This week “Music to my ears” will be changing. Instead of just what I am listening to the most on my playlist each week, every so often I am going to be doing a theme throughout my song choices. I will try to keep them three female and three male artist but I can’t promise anything.
If you missed last Wednesday’s round eight: music to my ears, click here. It was full of upbeat fun songs.
My theme this week is “our babies growing up”. With my two little ones on the fast rise to each milestone, I just wish life would slow down. I have blinked and my newborn is now turning into a toddler and my toddler is now turning into a little boy. I can’t believe it. Life seems to be on speed dial in whatever we are doing these days. My Momma warned me but I didn’t listen.
Even with me wanting it to slow down, it’s hard not to look forward to each new milestone and look forward to the future. I absolutely love this song below, because the words have so much meaning to me. As parents we sometimes rush our children into the next stage, sometimes we have to just let them be little.
Lonestar – Let Them Be Little
This second one, is so fun. I can just picture a Dad looking through his front window at the life he has and the bliss he feels staring at it all. So bittersweet. Funny enough it’s from Lonestar again, a double feature for you.
Lonestar – My Front Porch Lookin In
What’s more precious than butterfly kisses?
Bob Carlisle – Butterfly Kisses
Kenny Chesney – Don’t blink
I am so nervous for when the time comes to give my children space. I think it must be one of the hardest things parents go through. I know I will need to give them space to grow and become what they want to become, but it’s such a scary, scary thought. Luckily I have a few more years, to smother them before I will need to open my wings and let them fly solo. This next song is so true!
Dixie Chicks – Wide Open Spaces
Reba McEntire – I’ll be
Carrie Underwood – Don’t forget to remember me
If you are making videos with music or picture videos these songs are great for that! I used the first one, for my son’s 1st bday video. I hope you enjoyed this week’s themed playlist! Any themes request below, would love to hear what you thought.
Don’t forget to stop by every Wednesday for more country music lovin’! It’s a great place to listen to all my favorites in one place each week and share them all with you. Come back time and time again to replay as often as you like! Just click on the sidebar catergories – Music To My Ears, there is a full list of every week’s playlist there.
Have I converted any of you to country yet? Come on, I know there is at least one or two of you out there, don’t be shy!
