As my kids get older and play more together I sit back and watch them interact; laughing and sharing special moments together. Lately, I have been a little sentimental about their relationship and how it might change when Buba starts school in September. At the moment, they are true partners in crime and each other’s shadow 24/7. I pray that Buba at school all day, five days a week, that this bond won’t be forgotten or changed. Missy Moo only goes two days without Buba out of seven now while he is at preschool and even then you can see how much they have missed each other and she squeals with delight when we pick him up and so does Buba.
So over the next few months while we are all at home together I am trying to capture their little moments together when they are having fun and being silly on the sofa to chasing each other around outside. Their little moments are just as precious to cherish as their big moments together and I want to document that all for them to have when they are older to look back on.
My children love change! Unlike most children change can be hard but I think my two are used to so much change on a daily basis that they just roll with it. While they are still babies of routine their routine is hardly ever done in the same house, same place, month to month. Even the small changes like moving the furniture around can spark them into a hyper excitement. This week I turned our sofa around so they could people watch out our front bay window in` our living room. They thought it was the most adventurous thing ever. Whenever they are getting a little restless or cabin fever and the weather isn’t nice enough to get outdoors I try to get creative indoors. It only took me a second to turn the sofa around and yet they played together on it for over an hour, pointing out the dogs and cars going by. It was so cute watching them having a moment on the sofa.
Even if the laugher gets out of hand and turns to some whining I stand back and let them sort it out for the most part. They always do. It’s like they find a common compromise in whatever has upset the other. They are true wrestling siblings at heart too. They love tickling, belly raspberry blowing, play kicking and down right wrestling and pillow fighting all in a playful manner. I get nervous Buba will hurt MM someday but she holds her own and continues to squeal with laughter as he wrestles around with her.
Their smiles say it all and if you could hear their laughter too it’s heart melting. These are the moments I want to remember. These are the moments I want to capture. When my two won’t be able to recall these ordinary amazing moments themselves they will have my blog to recall it for them and to share their young childhood with them for always. That’s the beauty of having a blog for your children and one of the main reasons I started it. I may be a busy momma and trying to accomplish it all at the same time but I will always have time for a moment on the sofa with my two kids. Moments where we may pillow fight, blow raspberries on bellies, and watch the world go by us in the front window. In a busy world its nice to stop and just enjoy the moment even if there is nothing going on but silly play.
