It’s Valentine’s Day soon. I didn’t have much time to do something extra special for Mr P this year but I thought a little baking would warm his heart. I whipped up these chocolate heart cakes for him and his office to celebrate. It really is the easiest recipe ever and you can use for any special occasion.

Can You Make Heart Cupcakes Without Heart Shaped Tins?

These heart tins I got in America but you can find similar ones on Amazon for so cheap. I love making shaped cakes. I always thinking baking presents are the best kind of presents to give.

If you don’t have time to get some tins don’t worry, you can make heart cupcakes without a heart shaped tin. Place cupcake cases on a regular cupcake tray and fill them with your batter. You can then take a marble and put it on the outside of the cupcake case, so that it pushes against the side and makes a heart shape. If you don’t have marbles then you can scrunch up foil into a ball for each one. Then bake as normal.

Valentine's Day Chocolate Hearts Cake Recipe

My photos this time don’t do this cake justice. It’s light, fluffy, and moist. It’s hard to get the right combination sometimes with chocolate cake without it turning really dry. I like this recipe as mini cakes or cupcakes!

The kids loved it and I got great feedback from Mr P’s office. I love baking and sending them off to his work. They are great too they always pay a pound into the company charity for each cake. Win-win All for a good cause.

    • Thanks Stella. Depends on what cake pan you are using hunny so if it’s large it will probably be 25-30 mins if its cupcakes or mini cakes like mine more like 18-20 mins but always keep an eye on them and use the toothpick in the center if it pulls out clean it’s done or if you lightly press the center with your finger and it bounces back up its done. Thanks for stopping by!
