School bugs, Salted Caramel Sauce and where the magic happens #littleloves

Last updated on November 19th, 2023 at 12:25 am

Oh Friday, this week has not gone fast enough and I never say that. This week has tested my parenting skills, my patience and my ability to actually speak. The beginning of the week saw me lose my voice and from there it just went down hill after catching the worse school bug from B that he was suffering from last week. We thought it was a new food intolerances as the bug lasted so long but it the end it was just the plague lovingly passed on to MM then me. Isn’t it so nice of them to share? As MM is getting to the end of it but still cranky, I am just starting. Mr P is off to the USA for nine days so I am having the challenge of solo parenting, working and doing it all alone and sick. It’s time like this I wish my momma lived down the street for some back up. The kids not feeling their best and me either makes for a grumpy household.

Somewhere in the middle of all this and a whole lot of coffee there are still things we can say we loved this week…

READ
We are #BookBuddies for Parragon Books and it’s so exciting to get a new book especially when the holidays come around for the kids. They love opening it up and seeing which one they get as a surprise. We have been reading Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere, gearing up for Halloween. It details the adventures of four little trick-or-treaters on their way to a lovely pumpkin parade. I just ordered the kids halloween costumes and for once I let them pick them out. I know that’s huge for me and my control haha I was excited that they picked something matching at least however it wouldn’t have been my first choice.

HEARD
I haven’t been listening to any music this week, with a bad headache my youtube watching has come to a halt too. So I really bad this week but I did hear that my blog design is almost finished. It’s been a summer of tweak, after tweak, after tweak. I can’t wait to have it live and see what everyone things of my new brand.

WATCHED
I am watching all six seasons of Pretty Little Liars and I still can’t pinpoint what I like about it but it’s been a good netflix series to watch while I feel sorry for myself in my bed at night. I have Dexter saved to watch next as I was recommended it by a few friends. What have you been watching lately? Do you have a Netflix favorite?

WORE
It’s been a funny week of cold morning school runs and sweaty hot afternoon pick ups. I think I have had to change my clothes twice every day this week. I wish it would just pick one or the other. I love that MM has started photo booming all my outfit photos in the morning during breakfast. It’s almost becoming our little tradition.

MADE
This week I made the most delicious Salted Caramel Sauce and I have been making you all drool and wait for the recipe. It will be up shortly but one last tease as I haven’t had a moment to spare to get it written down for you all yet. It’s so easy to make and great for Christmas presents in cute little jars with ribbon or just to pour over any dessert you are serving for added flavor. I especially love it over brownies, bananas, and on top of cupcakes. I also will be sharing my Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting soon and I may have drizzled salted caramel sauce all over it. I can tell you it’s the best cake I have ever ate. I know tooting my own horn.

AND LASTLY…INTERIORS
I have been working on my office space for a while now and I am waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail but it’s a forever changing place I have come to realize. From day to day things on my desk change; photos, inspirational cards, postcards, magazines, catalogs, and home accessories too. I think this keeps me motivated and creative having a forever changing work space. I doubt it will ever be fully finished but either way this is where the magic happens. This is where I write all my blog posts for the most part, write my to do lists, shopping lists, and mark down all the school events too. There isn’t a day I am not sat here at least for an hour (or six) with a coffee in hand to help get things done.

I love fun facts from Furniture At Work below. Who would you be based on your current work desk? I think I am a mix between Albert Einstein and Roald Dahl. What a mixture that would be. I think our desk space speaks a lot about the person in the chair. You can tell right away I have a mixed style of home decor, family and work life at my desk. You can also tell that I am too busy to actually put things away and have a bad memories with the endless post-it notes all over it too. What does your desk say about you?

  1. Sorry you’ve been feeling under the weather, it always comes at the worst time doesn’t it? Loving all those outfits though, I really don’t make much effort on days I’m at home. I’d like to try more ha ha! Hope you feel better and have a lovely weekend x

    • You always look the part hunny I see your instagram. Haha Makes it easier that I have to be out of the house every morning for school run to get dressed and then go to either music, swimming, spanish or gymnastic with MM during the day straight from the school drop off I don’t have many days at home all day where I would love to stay in my pjs hahaha That would be amazing or just sweats.

  2. Oh I love your desk and working space; I think mine is a little bit Albert Einstein, I’ve constantly got about a million things cluttering it up although I did have a little sort through this week when I was supposed to be busy working! Hope you have a great week and that you get rid of your bug soon, school bugs are so much fun aren’t they (not!) x

  3. I do love your outfits, they look stylish. I’m not a fan of caramel but i bet my hubby would love that sauce. I think i’m a mix of Just so and desk toys on a good day and then it’s an organised mess at others! Although, I don’t actually have a office space./ desk yet, but thats what i’d be if I did.

  7. Argh! That bug sounds horrendous – on top of losing your voice. I guess it’s a good thing that B hasn’t got more food intolerances? but hoping that you’re all 100% soon – especially you. Can’t wait to see your new branding! I’m definitely organised mess – I don’t like things that are ‘just so’. It makes me feel on edge! x

    • Thanks Esther. Oh you would hate my house then it’s very everything has a home hahaha until I had kids now it’s constantly striving for that but mess is what it really ends up being so I have learned to love organized messes. hahaha We are on the mend now thanks babes.

  8. I hope you have now gotten over the worst of your bug. It is terrible having no-one to give you a hand. The caramel looks yummy, and you look gorgeous as ever! I also wanted to say I was reading about the playhouse MM has – wow – it’s a good thing I don’t have a girl, or that would definitely be on Santa’s list! Great post!

  9. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling ill. It’s horrible when you have children to look after too, long gone are the days where you can hide under a duvet in bed! Loving your photographs in this post too, your clothes are fab, as is your workspace. I’m so jealous! I tend to work from my dining room table xxx

    • Thanks Kerry it’s been a bad bug week for us here but we are all on the mend I think. I wish I could hide under a duvet for a few days too much to sort out though and do with kids isn’t there? Where is momma’s soup and watching tv all day?
