We are so excited to be featuring our Hue smart lights again for Halloween. Lighting is a huge part of the decorations when it comes to Halloween. Whether you want to create a haunted house, or are preparing for a Halloween party, lighting can create that spooky and eerie atmosphere. Our Hue lights have flicker and dimming capabilities . Coupled with the fact that you can choose from 16 million different colors, they are the perfect addition to our Halloween decorations.
So we took it one step further this year to see how Hue Go could be used inside our pumpkins and what kind of spooky fun we could get up to by changing the colors of our pumpkin. We used a third party app, Hue Haunted House which allowed us to create spooky lighting and sound effects, creating the best haunted, spooky scenes imaginable, which the kids LOVED.
This is sure to scare off those trick or treaters with our pumpkin light magically changing while they are stood waiting their fate at our front door. The kids will have a blast changing the lighting while I hand out the candy.
It’s also a lot safer than using real tea light candles in your pumpkins. So many pumpkins have caught fire and have caused hazards using real flames, so it’s a great option to put one of your Hue Go lights inside instead. Safe and fun! That’s what Halloween is all about!
We carved a sugar skull pumpkin this year in light (no pun intended) of the new Disney movie Coco. It’s was an instant new favorite even though it brings us all to tears every time, even the kids cry. Mostly happy tears for Miguel who is an amazing singer. We might even attempt a Miguel and Hector pumpkin later this week if I can get my drawing skills out. Wish us luck!
We have a few friends coming over to go trick or treating with again this year. We had such a great time with them last year and had a big celebration meal afterwards. There is always far too much candy consumed and sugar highs between us all but great memories to make together.
What are you lighting up in your house for Halloween? Why not think outside the box and add a flare to your home lighting system. It will have your party guests in awe too, I promise. I know we will have tons of fun with it when it comes Christmas! I can’t wait! Our house will be lit up in red and green for the holiday season, but for now we are sticking to everything burnt orange or blood red for Halloween.
