My workouts have changed dramatically this year. I have gone to doing classes and various runs/yoga/body balance in a daze just because I had to. I have never been one to love working out but had to do it. I also never knew what I was really supposed to be doing. I am sure I did body pump for two years wrong looking back now. I felt lost in a sea of gym bunnies if I didn’t go to classes where an instructor was shouting at me what to do. This year, I finally got myself someone that knows what they are talking about to help me out, educate me, and give me the kick start I needed.
After a few months with her teaching me what does what to my body and how to safely and properly workout, I am loving the gym. Never thought I would say that. She has been helping me sort out my in balance diet too. And it’s not about dieting it’s about finding balance between the foods you are already eating. It’s really got me excited to be the healthiest version of me moving forward in my thirties.
As a working, busy mom though I can’t always get to the gym. Or if I had a good gym session I need to stretch out so I don’t get too stiff. I revert back to my yoga moves at home while the kids run around me in the garden. It’s calming, it helps my muscles, and it’s still good to do yoga too!
Water was another thing I really hated to drink in the past. I have made it thirty five years not drinking water often. Sometimes it’s safe to say I went weeks without drinking it relying on the water in my tea or coffee on a daily basis. SO BAD.. I know! Now, I drink three liters a day most days. I love it! Always helps to have a pretty water bottle to help get you drinking that water too.
You can’t become a gym bunny without some proper gear so when I was asked to test out some sportswear for Fashion World, I was excited to get some new gear. Why not look the part if I am taking part, right?
I love a good matching top and bottom combo for the gym. Black is always a bonus because it goes with everything so you can mix and match your gym gear. This green tank was fab for being baggy enough for me to move around and tie in a knot for a good stylish look. I prefer to workout in a t-shirt than a tight tank top.
I always stick with black sports bras because sweat stains. No one wants a sweat stain showing through, do they? This black one has silk-like fabric on the straps and trim giving it a lovely leather look to it but so comfortable.
Last but not least, my favorite part of good gym gear, throwing on that cozy loungewear or training jumper. I have fallen in love with this Scandinavian style lilac crewneck. It’s lightweight and oversized for less strenuous workouts and yoga or to pop over my tops when I finish a workout and need to make the school run in time.
