It’s not often that I get a day to myself without the kids so when I got the rare, shiny invite to experience the new MADE Wellness Centre and all it had to offer in gorgeous Staffordshire, well you can imagine, I jumped up and down.
Exercise has always been a big part of my life. Whether that is being apart of a gym or a facility that offers various classes like body pump, yoga, pilates, and spinning. When I was doing ad hoc exercises things like running outside or doing zumba classes with friends were there to keep me going. I will be the first to admit I didn’t “love” working out for most of my twenties. It was a necessity to enjoy the food I love to eat and because I was always told it was good for me. Somewhere around turning 30 years old changed my whole way of thinking about exercise and nutrition, in a positive way.
I stopped thinking that I had to not eat this and had to do this many classes or gym sessions each week to learning what my body responses better to and what my body needs. In the last five years, I have found more mind, body, health balance than I have ever had before. That’s what I love about the MADE Wellness Centre they help people find what their mind and body need and for every person that might be a little different.
What is the MADE Wellness Centre?
A wellness centre is a place you go to create a happier, healthier everyday life through discovery, encouragement & positivity.
The brand “MADE” wants to motivate you to create a balanced, healthy and happy life by making little and realistic changes but your efforts lead to big, positive changes in your life. They have thought about everything for those looking for this balance when they created their brand.
Without further ado, I introduce you to the MADE Wellness Centre.
From the moment I stepped into the little trendy cafe and tried their ‘Sweet Citrus Juice’, I was in awe. With the thought of redefining healthy eating and making eating fun the MADE Cafe serves healthy and delicious meal and drink options. They have created colorful dishes that are appealing to the eye as much as to your stomach. It’s all about eating all the colors of the rainbow! Which is right up my street. How about you?
We had a lovely tour of the property which consists of the MADE Wellness Centre and Moddershall Oak Spa and Restaurant. Together they create a haven to retreat to.
Walking through the Wellness Centre the relaxation rooms, private dining, to the spinning and yoga room, it’s pure luxury decor. I definitely felt like I was in an oasis to recharge and only wish it was closer to my house so I could visit all the time. I think I would be there every day. They have made the Wellness Centre a place that is more than just a healthy cafe and gym. It goes beyond nutrition and exercise to include self care. Caring for our mental selves is just as important whether you do this through yoga, meditation, or workshops at the Wellness Centre or a relaxing spa retreat to unwind, your mind needs pampering too.
I had a few busy work weeks leading up to my visit to the MADE Wellness Centre so it was a huge treat to get to experience a variety of food, classes and be inspired by positive women. Too often I think women don’t support and empower each other enough. It was a small group of us that gathered to empower each other including a great friend of mine, Kerri-Ann from Life as Our Little Family blog. We are constantly lifting each other up and to get to train hard with her throughout the day was a lovely addition.
We tried out the amazing Spinning Class with Helena in a room fit for a disco party. It was bursting with energy and motivation from the whole group. I have only ever tried spinning once before so it was still such a new experience for me. I love anything with high endurance needed.
Next on our list was Dance Fit, Boxing and Yoga/Pilates. Now that I love training it was great to do a number of different kinds of training. Somewhere between my second and third child, I finally fell in love with working out. It makes me feel so much better when I am feeling sluggish and gives me the energy I need to run after my three kids. I have done yoga, pilates and dance classes before so I knew what to expect. The biggest surprise for me was that I love boxing. I didn’t think it would be my thing. I really got into it as you can see. I definitely recommend the boxing class even if you just try it for the first time you might surprise yourself like I did.
‘Nourishing the body, feeding the soul and supporting the community, MADE aims to help you create a balanced, healthy and happy life by making little and realistic changes that lead to big differences.’
Those that following me know I am a huge foodie. I love my food. I have started learning a lot about what I should eat and what I should feed the kids more of. It’s a lot of pressure to have three children relying solely on me for their health and nutrition. I was highly impressed with my meals throughout the day from the MADE Cafe.
Welcome Drink – ‘Sweet Citrus Juice‘ containing pineapple, cucumber, apple, mango, mint leaf juice,
Breakfast – ’Energy’ Smoothie Bowl – The smoothie of your choice topped with our very own granola, mixed fruit & edible flowers containing banana, oats, agave, cinnamon, chia seeds, almond milk.
Lunch – ‘Green Smash’ Toast containing smashed avocado, cherry tomatoes, chilli flakes, rock salt, lime + add halloumi* or poached eggs* or grilled chicken to your green smash toast.
After a day with a lovely group of women, sharing our stories and experiencing some great workouts and delicious food together, we made our way over to the Moddershall Oaks Spa next door. We couldn’t wait to enjoy a glass a fizz in the outdoor pool and soak in all the good things we did for our bodies that day. They really have created the ultimate wellness centre. I left feeling inspired and motivated in so many different ways.
If you live in the area, stop by and check out the MADE Wellness Centre and Moddershall Oaks or become a member. Imagine always having all of this at your finger tips??? If you don’t live near by to become a regular member why not visit with friends or family for a getaway weekend. I know I will be booking one soon.
Thank you MADE for making me have one of the most indulging, and energized days out. I felt empowered upon my return home wanting to have a more balance, healthy and happy lifestyle moving forward.
THANK YOU MADE WELLNESS CENTRE!
