{Funny Phrase Day Friday} #22

Last updated on November 16th, 2023 at 05:41 pm

It would seem that my little GET of a son, Green Eyed Toddler, thinks he is hilarious on a daily basis. Even more so when he takes over Funny Phrase Day Friday himself. I am on to his tactics and game now.

This week, I watched my sweet, little boy become this whining, tantruming GET that was making me want to bang my head against something. I have heard it all and I have no idea where it comes from. Here are a few he has thrown at me…

funnyface

“No, leave me in my house, you leave!”

“I don’t want to be patient right now.”

“No two minutes, now!”

“Leave me alone, I am working on my puzzle.”

“No, don’t do that, get away.”

“I am boss.”

After I counted to a million to calm down and retaliated appropriately, I continued to get sarcastic, snotty answers. So the GET has arrived, and at almost three years old he has turned into a monster. Forget the terrible twos, we are in the whiny sarcastic threes! I know which one I prefer.

And yet toddlers can be so clever and switch it on and off like a lamp. At breakfast, he was as sweet as can be asking,”can I have so more cereal please?” and after refilling his bowl and devouring it, he said,”have I had enough yet Mommy?” with the biggest smile.

Then last night he was doing a new dance / jump number for us in the living room and shouted over to Mr P and I while we talked, “Watch this you guys.” We couldn’t stop chuckling. Reminded me of the Goonies, “hey you guys!” So American!!! But he was the fun loving Buba we remembered, even though ten minutes before that he had refused to eat and threw his spoon across the room.

So while I never know who this Jekyll and Hyde boy is going to be, whether he will race over to Missy Moo and put his arm around her saying,”hey flower” or race over to her and plough her over saying,”I hit Missy Moo’s head” and sending  himself to the naughty step when she starts to cry.

Buba you made think you are being funny but as much as I am usually chuckling in your favor, Mommy is not laughing right now!!!

    • I know me too. I find conversations with toddlers so entertaining and I can’t wait to listen in on my two talking together and the funny things they will say to each other.

  1. He sounds like a character… My two year old is a bit like that too, she can literally change in an instant. It definitely keeps us on our toes doesn’t it? xxx

  2. You just wait until the fearsome fours … Seriously though, I know exactly what you mean, A is 4 and slips from funny to downright rude in a split second and it can be exhausting. Let’s just hope that the funny moments outweigh the stroppy ones.
    Thanks for linking up.

  3. They can be so cute and even the most cheeky things out of their mouths sound so funny sometimes don’t they? Z is becoming cheesier by the minute here. His new thing is to ask for something and then when I say ok he always replies with “so do it then!”. I have to count to million then 🙂
