Not a tea drinker? Keep reading, it may be called green tea but this magic powder is not just your ordinary green tea. Matcha Organic Green Tea Powder is so fine it can be put in a vast ray of recipes including pasta dishes, desserts, breads, cakes, smoothies and for those that do like tea and coffee, it can go in them too. As a busy Mom of two, I am always looking for ways to eat and cook healthier without added time or expense. I was excited to find that with little effort, I could be making my normal meals healthier just by adding a little powder to them.

Just think you can burn 40% more fat just by adding a little Matcha green powder  to your everyday recipes. It also has more amino acids than regular green tea to encourage your brain to relax and be calm. Who wouldn’t want and need that?

Looking through their massive ray of recipes, I decided to focus on breakfast recipes first. Starting your day off the healthiest way possible is my kind of breakfast.

First I made a Matcha Latte,  since I am a huge coffee drinker. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. I was expecting it to be gritty, bitter and take the taste away from the coffee. I honestly can say I will be drinking this everyday in my coffee. If I can benefit from burning more fat, be a calmer person, and it providing me with more energy without having to have the caffeine in my coffee, I am converted already. It taste great too! I use a Nespresso machine, just add a teaspoon to the espresso before adding my frothy milk.

A whole new take on green eggs and ham! Your kids will love their Dr. Seuss eggs and you will love the extra healthiness to your morning scrambled eggs on toast, I know I do. I was surprised as the flavor of the eggs completely overruled the Matcha so it just taste like normal scrambled eggs, whereas the Latte did taste different but still good.

I drink a lot of smoothies for breakfast because it’s fast to make, easy to do, a healthy diet and my kids love a sip or two of Mommy’s liquid breakfast. Throw in a teaspoon of Matcha and you have just turned your diet breakfast into a super booster breakfast! Just think of all that extra calorie burning you will be doing just by adding a little organic Matcha to your smoothie. I will let you know if I see the difference after having it daily for a few weeks but I can say we have had it daily in our breakfast for over a week now and it’s really helping my husband sleep better! If you know my blog you will know Mr. P. suffers from insomnia, not an easy thing to treat. Matcha is supposed to be good for insomniacs because of its natural calming effects, and its power to lower anxiety levels. He has noticed just in a week and a half it does actually help your sleep. Call it, magic powder because we would rather find a natural assistance than a pharmaceutical assistance to his insomnia. Doesn’t cure it but it definitely has helped, scouts honor!

Let’s forget breakfast now, what about those delicious desserts that we avoid so often but drool over because there is nothing healthy about them. I am not saying  it turns all your favorite desserts into diet foods but why not add a little Matcha to lessen the guilt and balance the naughtiness? These turned out fantastic, the whole family loved them and I loved that it added a bit of healthiness to a dessert. My son especially loved that they were tinted green, “Shrek food Mommy.”

Fact: 1 glass of matcha green tea is equal to 10 glasses of regular tea as far as antioxidants and nutrients.

Time for cocktail hour!

The oh-so popular cocktail Mojito is a favorite of mine, and hopefully this spring I can gather my friends for a little Matcha cocktail hour!! The Matcha Mojito will be a huge hit because it taste superb!

Don’t fancy green food, take Matcha green tea powder one step further, a friend told me you can even use the powder for a facial mask. It’s supposed to be excellent for acne and have anti-ageing properties in it as well. Add 1 Tbsp of Matcha powder, 1/2 tsp. of raw organic coconut oil, and a few drops of water until it’s a thick paste. Be sure not to use too much coconut oil /water or it will not stick to your face. It’s so mild that you can even sleep with it on over night. Don’t worry you won’t turn green like Shrek. Coconut oil is a great anti-inflammatory too! BONUS!

Does this sound like something you want to try, click here to buy your own Matcha green tea powder and get started on a healthier, calmer, happier diet. for the whole family.

I was sent this product for the purpose of this review, but the opinions are my own.
