“Kids say the darndest things,” isn’t that the truth. My 2-year-old keeps me in hysterics lately with his new ramblings and one liners that come out of nowhere. This week his new phrase came from Granny.
“Oh, dear!”

He not only copies her words but his inflection in his voice is exactly how Granny says it. The first hundred times was adorable. The last hundred, yup, still cute. It’s like watching one of the ‘Golden Girls’ curse. Along with his Granny phrases, he loves to wrap his blankies over his head, I am not so sure he isn’t really an old lady in a 2-year-old’s body. “Great-grandma is that you?” haha
Another one came this week after visiting Santa’s Grotto. He wasn’t impressed with the Santa that was there, not just because he was scared of Santa in general, but that particular one wasn’t up to his standards. He kept telling me on the way home…
“Mommy, I don’t like that Santa”
Now, he refuses to wear his Santa pyjamas. “Those are Santa’s and I didn’t like that Santa,” he protested. I asked him which Santa he preferred. His replied, “not THAT Santa, Mommy.”
