Pit & Peak of the Week #15

Last updated on November 16th, 2023 at 05:16 pm

It’s been a long week, I have been having some health issues so I feel like we have lived at the doctors this week. Nothing life threatening, don’t worry. It’s becoming a challenge to take both my kids with me to see the doctor.  Missy Moo wanting out of her car seat to crawl around, and Buba attempting to open every needle drawer, and cupboard door in the GP’s office, it’s a battle just to sit and talk to the doctor. I always leave thinking, I should have mentioned this or that. There should be a creche at the doctors, how helpful would that be?

As always I am here to reflect back on my week and vent about my pit and rave about my peak, of this past week. It’s a great therapeutic reflection or free therapy which ever way you want to look at it.

Pit: My overall well being is being a big pit. I seem to be falling a part at the seams. Every time I turn around there is something else wrong with me. I pulled my back out this week, lifting Buba out of his cotbed. I am not very tall and he is more than half my height already at two and half. The side rails will be coming off pronto, I can’t risk hurting me or him in the process to get him in and out anymore. So big bed here we come!

Advice welcome? Door gate will be going up too!

Peak: My week brightened up though when I received a few new items in the mail. Tuesday brought me, two gorgeous canvases from Canvas Design of my kiddies, that are just beautiful. I hung them up, straight away. They look amazing in our bedroom and hallway. I am so pleased with them.

Friday brought me, my family love

heart pillow and an owl, from Naked

Lunge. I love it. It’s the four of us hand

drawn, and it really does look like us. I

love decorating our house, right down

to the tiniest touches. There is nothing

better than receiving new things in the

mail. It brightened up my week for sure!

Have you had a good week?

  1. So sorry to hear about your back! I feel your pain…I suffer from a chronic back condition and frequently pull my back out. When my kids went to big boy/girl beds, I put them straight into twin size beds rather than fiddling with toddler beds. I used the safety rails to make sure they didn’t fall out, or you can also try putting a pool noodle toy under the sheet (a rolled up blanket works just as well). There may be a lot of ups and downs at first, which you may be noticing if you’ve already taken down the side rails! Keep at it though! With Jace I actually had to lay down with him to keep him in his bed, with Raelynne, she acted as if she wasn’t able to get out of her bed until I came and got her in the morning. In the end, once he gets used to his big boy bed, everyone will be happier – you won’t be worried about someone getting hurt, and he will gain a newfound independence! Best of luck!!!

  2. Oh I’m sorry about your back lovely! I’ve had physio on my back in the past due to it seizing halfway through bending or straightening, but was essentially told that it was because my core muscles were shot to pieces. Now I know the exercises I need to do to aid my back if it’s hurting (flat on the back and pelvic tilt is the main one) and not to sit on the sofa collapsed against the cushions in the last hour before bed. Hope yours is on the mend soon.

Love the cushions, they are so cool and different.

I’ve written one for this week as it’s been so horrid that I need reminding that there were positives.

    • Oh thank you so much for the tips. It’s killing me for awhile now. Same thing every time I turn or bend down. Feel like an old lady. Will try those. Yes, write it down, it’s very therapeutic!!! Thanks as always for stopping by. Lovely to hear from you.

    • Thanks Pippa. I look forward to reading your post. I used to have it as an official blog hop but for weeks and weeks no one joined in so I just made it into an unofficial one where you can grab the badge link back to here and comment that you are linking up and I will be sure to share it and comment on it too.
