Pit & Peak of the Week #1

Last updated on November 16th, 2023 at 04:40 pm

I love a good tradition or a routine, just ask my two “Gina Ford” babies. I was trying to figure out something I could do for my mommy blog on a regular basis, while watching an episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians”. Yes, I know smut tv but I secretly love it. Kim was asking everyone their high and low of the day, their “pit and peak”. It gave me the perfect idea. With two children and constantly on the go, I didn’t want to tie myself down to a daily task, however, I came up with “Pit and Peak of the Week”. It only ties me to once a week and had a better ring to it. 🙂

My “Pit and Peak of the Week” will be the highs and lows of parenting life, our life. We can all learn from others experiences or bask in the glory of others’ achievements.  So each week I will be sharing our family’s “Pit and Peak of the Week”.

We will always start with the “Pit” since it best to end on a positive note.

PIT: Our pit this week is definitely the 24 hour vomit bug, that plagued our family last Sunday night. Within an hour of each other this family was running to every bathroom available throughout the night. Buba was being sick all over his cot and floor. Three bed changes and resorting to towels as sheets, we finally had a handle on it. The only one that was luckily enough to escape it, was Missy Moo. There is nothing worse than trying to help a toddler understand why he is being sick and being sick yourself. Amazing enough we were feeling a lot better by midday, the next day.

PEAK: Our peak of the week is Missy Moo learning how to roll over amongst a small audience of her parents, grandparents, and brother. I love when not only both parents get to experience a milestone but grandparents alike. As we all sat around the living room, Missy Moo took a perfect moment to roll over three different times, for the very first time. Call it small but it was a milestone nevertheless and we all got to bare witness to it. I am always trying to get these moments on video so Daddy doesn’t miss out while working, but this time it was great to just enjoy the precious moment.
