Siblings {April}

I love you both today,

Ten times more than yesterday,

But nowhere near what I will,

Tomorrow.

Buba you are growing up so fast, becoming a little boy right before my very eyes, along side your sister, who is growing equally as fast. You have even noticed how grown up she is getting too. You two are still inseparable best friends but lately the hugs from you Buba have been getting tighter, the kisses have force behind them, and your gentle hands have started to flail all over the place, around your sister. I don’t think you mean her any harm, you just get so excited that she is pulling herself up and moving around. She is now coming to your level. I think this puzzles you and you want to push her down, back where she used to be just lying on the floor.

To Missy Moo’s knowledge you are still the same big brother, that she squeals with excitement when she catches your eye. When you come in close she is waiting for those signs of affection and even when you shovel too hard, or kiss with a head butt instead she is still full of giggles and smiles for you. She has adapted to your new ways, and nothing you do seems to phase her. Even above as you shovel your forehead into hers almost toppling her over, her face is adorned with the biggest smile as she holds onto you for support.

Buba we took you to the eye doctor and found out you are struggling with your eyes. Glasses and an eye patch with be needed to help you see. Mommy is upset, hoping it’s a quick fix and not something that will be ongoing. You were so brave during the eye test, holding Mommy and Missy Moo’s hand. When we got home, you couldn’t stop telling Missy Moo all about what you did and showing her your proud big boy sticker, even though she was right there with you.

I truly  believe it was having her there with you that kept you calm and feeling safe. Usually you are not stranger friendly but you topped the charts with your patience and corporation, on this day, I was ever so impressed. Pointing out various things for Missy Moo to look at, as the doctor played with your eyes.

May you both always be there for each other, learning and growing together, and never lose this bond that you have created. Keep your secret language that you share, safely between you, it is something that is sacred.

dear beautiful

    • Thanks Jess, me too. I am so nervous as he has enough things against him for kids to tease I don’t need to add to it. Yes his love is getting a bit of tough love. 😉

    • Thanks Emma. It was a melt your heart moment but after being told about how bad his eyes are I didn’t have the brain wave to take a photo I was sat in shock. Not fun hopefulyl won’t be a permanent thing kids are cruel in school. He has enough against him already.

  3. I am sorry to hear about Buba’s eyes- I have a feeling both my girls are going to need glasses when they get their eyes tested- I have dreadful eyes and Mr E’s are even worse- he also had a patch when he was younger!
These are gorgeous photos and as you know I am a sucker for black and white. They sound the best of friends and Buba sounds like a wonderful big brother. x

  4. Oh, little man!! I’m sure the glasses and patch will help Jenny – and how unbelievably sweet will he look? Even sweeter than he does already, if that’s possible! Children adapt so well and just get on with things too, don’t they, and his little sister will be his biggest supporter, I’ve no doubt! Such a lovely post xx

    • Oh Emma I really hope you are right here. I am really upset with it all. It’s never a ending story with his “issues” deadly allergies, asthma, rashes, now vision. The list goes on and on. It’s like my personal bubble boy! Very frustrating.

    • Thank you, so sad as his Daddy had most of his curls cut all off. Hate it at the moment this was the day before the cut! I do too, so worried about his vision. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  5. I love your black and white photos. So nice. My eldest also found it strange when his little brother started to walk. It took him a couple of weeks to adjust to having the baby on his level all of a sudden. But now they love to roam the house together.

    • I think that’s his problem. But it’s funny to watch. He was crazy confused when she first started sitting up. Kept saying I help you Missy Moo and shoving her back down. Like she was in trouble for sitting. Hilarious.

  6. Oh they’re so sweet together – and I love that he wanted to tell her how brave he’d been, its just so cute. I hope the glasses are a quick fix too – H and I are both shortsighted so I suspect my girls are going to need a little help too at some point.

    • Thanks Carie, me too. He is struggling with crossed eyes too so it’s a bit difficult with that and not being able to see far either. Hopefully they have a fix for him though. Fingers crossed.

    • Thanks Jess, I am so nervous about them. I try not to think about it as the doctor’s app isn’t until Tuesday. Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as I think. Over reacting mommy here. lol

  7. I so recognise the whole ‘heavy handed love’ thing – JJ has always been like this with his little brother and sometimes I fear for EJ’s safety but at the same time I’m confounded by the fact that EJ is usually absolutely tickled pink by the whole thing no matter how rough – go figure! We always say EJ will get his own back because he’s built like a rugby player where JJ is skinny as a stick! It is always going to be a bit worrying when you have to take your children for medical appointments and assessments but its lovely that he was reassured by his sister’s presence. Very sweet.
