One more day....Running into our last day of homes

One more day....Running into our last day of homeschool tomorrow. Not going to lie we will be taking it easy. Signing into love lessons and in between a whole lot of celebrating, pizza party fun because we deserve it. One more day to go for a walk at lunch time with these kiddos and sharing my lunch time with them during the week. They are so excited to go back. I am so excited. But I know little man will wonder why aren’t they home everyday with him. To him it’s been a year of them constantly around. Since he is only two that’s hi lifetime of always having someone at his beck and call. Today we went for a long walk (like everyday 🤦‍♀️) and these two kept asking so many questions. Will this be the last time? I don’t know. Will Covid go away ever? I don’t know. Will be have to go back into lockdown again? I don’t know. I hate not having answers for their worries. They want their normal life back as much as we all do. I feel for them the uncertainty of it feels like we almost shouldn’t celebrate too much just in case we were wrong and we do have to go back? Anyone else feel like this? #lifecloseup

Half way through the week and only two more days o

Half way through the week and only two more days of homeschool (hopefully forever) I will hang my teacher hat up for good. 🥳 Now that’s something to celebrate this weekend. I hope the weather is nice too. Fingers crossed. I have planned a little pizza party for the kids with all their fave treats for Friday night. We have our fave family games set aside and going to soak up this weekend in the excitement to return to some normality. My kids have made a countdown till Monday morning by the hours bless them they are so excited to see their friends and be back to school. I am getting my one on one days back with the baby too. Hooray! Not that he hasn’t benefited and loved every second of being with the entire family nonstop. I don’t know what I will do first on Tuesday though my first work day without a baby or kids - enjoy the silence while I work, have a hot coffee that I don’t heat 42 times in one morning and eventually forget in the microwave, not have to make lunch for five people and put the dishwasher on sometimes twice a day lol just the simple things in life that will seem a big deal. I know once we get back to routines I will miss their faces all day everyday. I will miss them spending so much time together. (And roll on April when I can sort this hair of mine out it’s in desperate need anyone else?) Another beautiful day...we pulled the bounce castl

Another beautiful day...we pulled the bounce castle out and opened the bifold doors up. The best part of the new renovations is it’s not attached to the rest of the house so it doesn’t matter how cold it is outside once we closed the doors and popped on the fire this evening it warmed the kitchen right back up. We have truly been soaking up every minute of sunshine we can. You never know when it will go again. More on house improvements we got our new garage door done today to finally match our front door. Keep watching for before and after. We are just waiting on new front path to be finished. For curb appeal. Haha it’s never a quiet house moment here. I love it. We will probably have to move when I finish so I have a new project to do. Do you love renovating your home or do you prefer it to be done and then leave it?

One more week of homeschool, juggling baby and work and house chores too. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I am feeling motivated and more myself again with the nice weather we have been having too. Now we just need to stop all the baking because a year of baking is not good for the waistline. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ We are loving this amazing sunshine that has been recharging our batterie let’s hope we get the same amazing spring we had last year. Fingers crossed. On a side note...how cute is this bee apron my mother made MM and I have a matching one for spring. What will you do first when the kids go back to school next week? Work in blissful silence, have a coffee in peace? Or how about both! Today was glorious...hello spring! We saw the lamb

Today was glorious...hello spring! We saw the lambs while we got sandwiches from our farm shop -yum, went for a walk around the canal, put the bouncy castle up and the kids literally jumped for four and half hours straight and had all the bifold doors open all day with the sun beaming on us. It was the recharge we needed to take on our last week of lockdown homeschool next week. We are ready to tackle it one last time! Hopefully never again too. Most of my family in USA and P’s family here have been vaccinated so we are pretty happy tonight. Roll on normality for us all. We have teamed up with @tescofood and using the Tesco Recipe Website to get inspired. They have you covered with a whole list of kids affordable lunches using lunch staples like jacket potatoes, bread, rice, egg, pasta, tortilla wraps and more. All of the recipes are easy and quick to make as we are all busy come lunch time. Tesco has great value and quality food perfect to make affordable lunches like this... Smoked Cheddar and Kidney Bean Wrap we made today. It turned out a hit!!! I would have never thought about putting kidney beans in a quesadilla and it’s no secret we love sharing our wrap combinations. Calling #tortillatrend with this one right? A little mint and tomatoes to complete their lunches made for a quick and NEW kid lunch to add to your favorites. What do you think - smoked cheddar and kidney bean wraps for lunch tomorrow??? 1 tortilla wrap
Handful grated smoked cheddar cheese
Handful drained, washed, canned kidney beans
Add cheese and beans inside tortilla wrap, fold, grill for 1 min on both sides in small frying pan. Serve with tomatoes, cucumbers and mint leaves if desired. Salt and pepper to taste.

Quick share all the snowy snaps because it definitely seems like spring is upon us and no turning back. (I hope). I may have two or three that I was desperate to share and just haven’t had the chance. It’s not often we get lovely snow. Although I am definitely sick of all the layers of coats, hats, and gloves. #AD | Most of us are combining learning and playing on a daily basis but ideas are running thin. Why not gather some recyclables around the house and try these Spring Flower Boxes. We have been crafting to #BeatTheBoredom with @Ryman using our recyclables to stay #StayThrifty whilst giving our stationery a refresh. With old cereal boxes and old used straws we made some fun, colorful Spring flower Boxes to give to our loved ones that we haven’t been able to see during lockdown. They would also make amazing Mother’s Day gifts coming up too! They are so easy to make, pop over to our stories to see how! We used some Math learning while we were figuring how many pedals and leaves each flower box needed and more learning while crafting by measuring with a ruler too. I don’t want to....yup I think that sums up ever

I don’t want to....yup I think that sums up everyone’s start to this week. It is definitely apparent that everyone is sick of homeschool and sick of lockdown all over the world. Whilst we will have more answers tonight and school returns March 8th I am praying with everyone bone in my body that as we open up there will never be another lockdown. I don’t think me or the kids would make it in Lockdown v.4. I am now just focusing on getting the most out of the kids being home for two more weeks. Not pressuring them too much not overwhelming myself too much. Now all I need is the gym to open up so I can get rid of the lockdown spare tire I have gained from not moving enough at home. One walk a day just isn’t enough.
