The cold weather is truly setting in along with the darker nights and the need to wrap up warm. I think I have a little obsession with winter coat styles. With so many colors and styles to choose from, I want one of each. I have been scrolling through Lands’ End winter coats this week, excited for the Black Friday sales ahead too. That way, I can get more than one because lets face it, its’ nice to have more options.

Must-Have Winter Coat Styles:

1. The School Mom Coat

This is the the coat that every parent needs for winter. Your choices are endless in this category from fluffy down puffer coats of all lengths to fleece lined fur hooded ones. Where we live it’s very windy and rainy so I have opted this winter’s school mom coat to be a maxi down coat. So I can be zipped up warm from head to toe, literally. The big hoods with fur are always better at protecting my face too as they seem deeper fitted. Lands’ End have loads of options in the school mom coat style.

2. The Fleece Jacket

Who doesn’t love the feel of fleece? It so soft and cozy for cooler climates. It can be layered underneath a bigger coat if you are in extreme weather or on a skiing holiday. But for those milder days, a stylish fleece is another wardrobe staple you must-have. It pairs with a pair of leggings or a pair of jeans. You can find fleece jackets that have just about any pattern or color these days to suit your preference. Lands’ End has light weight fleece to heavier fleece jackets and even fleece blazers for a smart style. What would be your fleece preference?

3. The Gym Coat

The ideal gym coat for me is a ultra light weight puffer style coat. One that I can roll up and fit in my gym bag if I get too warm after a workout to put it back on but might be a breeze day to start with on my way to the gym.

4. The Rain Coat

We live in England so you can be sure we need a stock pile of waterproof coat options. For those freezing rainy days and those warmer rainy days the rain coat is a necessity. The most popular rain coat style is the waterproof, waxed two front pocket coat. We also call some of them windbreakers. They usually have a good hood on them too. The thicker ones will be insulated and waterproof whilst you won’t need the extra thickness just enough to be between your skin and the rain to stay dry.

5. The Gilet

I am huge fan of the gilet. I will admit I might have a few because each year there is always a new style of Gilet or a new color I am lusting over. Can one have too many gilets? I think, not! Lands’ End have some gorgeous options this winter from waist length to longer lengths. And many with stylish patterns and vibrant colors for this seasons must-have on your Christmas list. I have my eye on the ThermoPlume Gilet and will be scoping out which ones hit the Black Friday sales this week.

6. The Horse Rider Coat

Last but definitely not least, is the horse rider coat otherwise known as the quilted or padded coats. These are beautiful and stylish. I don’t have one yet, but it’s on my wish list. I don’t just call these the horse rider coats because they have that classic equestrian style but also because they are great for us parents that have to sit outside watcher our horse riders. Although I am partial to the equestrian style too.

You can’t go wrong with any of these winter coat styles. Don’t forget to check out Lands’ End and their Black Friday sales they have going on right now. You wouldn’t want to miss a bargain to score luxury coats at afford prices and start building your winter coat staple wardrobe now! Check out my must-have winter accessories too.
