Love the little things #48

Last updated on March 4th, 2024 at 08:24 pm

Happy Friday Everyone! How am I even saying that again already? The weeks are flying by I still can’t believe it’s December. I don’t think I have ever been so busy and so ill at the same time. I am still battling that horrible cough for those that have been reading and probably sick of hearing about me moan about it. Sorry. But this leads me to my next apologies that I was too busy and too ill to join in last week for the #littleloves. I really missed sharing the little things I loved so much too. So I will be doing a double feature today and catching us all up on what the LTM family has been up to these past two weeks. Buckle your seat belts and here we go!

Read

I haven’t had a chance to buy a new book for this week. I am hoping Santa brings me a few new ones to get my nose into at Christmas. It’s no excuse to be too busy not to keep up with all your amazing blogs that I love so much so a huge apologies coming from me that the past two weeks I haven’t been able to keep up with every single one of them. My “to read” list is longer lately than my “to do” which never happens.

While I haven’t had much reading time I did get a chance to read some posts from the lovely Charlotte Taylor from Write Like No One Is Watching. I have met and read her blog before but we really got to know each other at BlogFest which was amazing. She is so inspiring and such a strong lady. So I have been trying to go back and catch up on some of her amazing posts of the past and some of her new ones. She writes more than anyone I know and so beautifully if you haven’t ever read her blog before STOP and go have a peak. You will get sucked in for a while so make sure you have a cuppa with you!

Heard

I love Ellie Goulding’s voice, I had never heard of her until a friend invited me to her concert and I have been hooked since.

Have you heard the news? I am so honored to be one of six fabulous bloggers collaborating on our new YouTube channel called Mum Talk TV! Every Wednesday and Sunday at 7pm one of us will be sharing a video from parenting, cooking, home decor, crafts, bargain shopping, beauty and lots lots more. Tune in each week and don’t forget to catch our first round of videos 25 Facts About each one of us to introduce you to the team!

Also, I have started a mini series on my own YouTube channel The Let’s Talk Mommy Show called “Bloggers Insight” where I will be interviewing an inspiring blogger at the end of each month. My very first interview was with the lovely Lisa from Hollybobbs on Vlogging. Each month will be a new topic and next month I can confirm our very own #littleloves host will be interviewed for “December’s Bloggers Insight”

Excuse the grainy photos the winter light is never good at any time of the day for selfies and I clearly need to wash my downstairs mirror next time before I take a photo. 🙂 haha The dirty mirror looks like something is all over my face. Nevertheless if I am not strutting my new Christmas sweaters (yes I have a few) I am dressing up in my new leather skirt and white snowy blazer both feel so Christmasy.

Made

The kids and I whipped up a yummy batch of BKD-London Little Monster cupcakes and they did not disappoint. Usually I struggle with letting the kids dive right in but once I did we all had a ball. Besides the mess we left behind it was great baking with the kids and I hope we do a lot more of it soon.

We went to Center Parcs for a pre-celebration for Thanksgiving and since I didn’t get to share with you all last week my feast of a dinner, here is what I made that week. I am not the best cook but that’s why I love Thanksgiving food so much it doesn’t have to be fancy. Turkey, stuffing, mash, gravy, dinner roll, veg, and I even threw in a Yorkshire pudding to make it a bit more English for the Mr.

And lastly…

I have numerous giveaways going on right now for Christmas and a new one will be added each week. Get your entries in for some fab prizes that could really be amazing Christmas presents too!

LTM GIVEAWAYS

In true double feature style, have you seen our Center Parcs experience yet? We only stayed three days as it was our first time and we didn’t know what to expect. We were really pleased with the accommodations and how much stuff there was to do even for two small tots. I can’t wait to go back again and definitely stay longer next time. And even though it rained the entire weekend we made the most of it… come see.

  1. Oh Jen. Thank you so much for the mention here. You know I think the world of you. That chat we had in the taxi made me feel so at ease about my family and how things are and that is all thanks to you. You’re a gem, and as much as you miss home, I’m glad you’re here because I get to have you as a friend. Is that selfish? Maybe. But you’re a superstar. xx

    • Ahhh bless you your comment just made my day! Love back to you. I really meant what I said. You enjoy your amazing mixed family as I do mine and your child will never know anything different but your amazing love! I swear. I had the best upbringing in a huge mixed family as you know. Selfish away, its good to finally have good friends in the uk and blogging brought me that.

  10. So sorry to hear you have still been feeling unwell and hope that cough goes away soon and you feel back to your normal self. Sounds like you have been really busy – love that Christmas jumper and glad that you had a wonderful time at Center Parcs. Those cupcakes look amazing and along with the Thanksgiving dinner have made me feel very hungry! 🙂

    • Glad you liked it all. It was either share a post or just catch everyone up on our chaos life at the moment so I thought the latter. Its hard to get anything done when I have been so sick for so long now the kids have it. I just hope we all have a healthy christmas.

    • I know it’s hard for me to let the kids bake because of said mess. I am really good at cleaning while we are doing each step so it’s not too bad. Until MM grabbed the bag of powdered sugar and did a swing dance with it all over the kitchen floor. Still cleaning it up days later. :0

    • Honestly, hunny I don’t know. I feel very busy all the time and with two little ones it’s hard to keep up while they nap or after they go to bed and up late nights because I want to spend time with mr p as well. So life is just busy right now. lol

  12. Wow that Thanksgiving dinner looks amazing. I have quite a few American friends and they always have marshmallows with sweet potatoes at their dinner – so bizarre to me! #sharwwithme

    Reply
    • Hahaha Yes we do the marshmallows but with fruit salad. Wonder if they are southerners? They do the marshmallow in sweet potato. us northerners keep it in our fruit. hahaha Either way my hubby finds weird too! Taste great both ways though.
