My cheeky family is smiling bright because we are off to see Santa tomorrow on the steam train!!! Can’t wait to do something festive with them. Also up on the blog tonight is a family update of Me & Mine - boy what a month we have had in November. Now we are gearing up to Christmas in America with my mom for the first time ever. It’s going to be a very magical end to the year. What are your family traditions for the holidays? I want to know...is it matching Xmas pjs or crazy Xmas sweaters on Xmas eve like us? Do you do a Xmas eve box or stuff your face on Boxing Day? #lifecloseup #matchingchristmaspjs #christmaspajamas #christmaspyjamas #xmaspjs

#AD As a family of five we are constantly on the go and with three children so you can imagine we have our fair share of doctors and dentist appointments too. It seems like we are always in the waiting room for one of us to be seen, especially with my eldest who suffers with EOE. Therefore it means this mama has to entertain the whole family on the go, a lot. I begin to run out of ideas at times.
In comes the @amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablet into our lives and I can’t recommend it enough. It comes with a 1 year subscription to Fire For Kids Unlimited providing endless options of books, music, educational games and more right at your finger tips. And I don’t know about your kids but mine seem to drop my tablet quite a bit so it’s a good thing this tablet comes with a two year worry free guarantee if they break it, you can send it back for a replacement.

🏻 How is that for bonus? 🤣 This is the 10” perfect for sharing on the go, and they also come in 7”, 8” HD & 10”. Suitable for ages 3-10 years old. Now all our waiting rooms will be full of fun, entertainment and learning. I dare say it will make all the waiting around we do, go a lot faster. That’s a “hooray moment” in this mama’s book. #kidstablet

With Christmas just around the corner I can’t help but feel like something is missing. After losing my Dad it’s a dull ache in my stomach that comes to the surface during the holidays and a few times in the year. It throws me off balance. We made advent boxes so each day we open up a compliment about someone in the family and we call them and tell them. I don’t know what the kids wrote down so it’s a fun surprise for me each morning. I knew there would be one about Papa. He was a comedian kind of man so they wrote Papa was a happy jokester! Obviously on this occasion we couldn’t ring him up to tell him so we shouted it out to the heavens in the back yard. It’s going to be a magical Christmas back home this year but boy what I wouldn’t give to have my Dad there at the airport to greet us with his snowy white beard and his jolly laugh. Santa you have some big shoes to fill this year. 🎅🏻 I hope he is watching from above. It was the kids idea for the advent. I think it’s a grand idea you end up calling all the amazing people in your life closest to you. #lifecloseup

Our new tree in a new spot. I normally am one that sticks to traditions and routines like glue. I have put up three trees in the same three places in our house for eight years. They all had their own themes but never changing over the years. This year I decided to change that. I needed a change. As I get older I like more spontaneity and change. I made the front living room tree the focal point in the center of the room this year. I shedded it’s original gold and red for frosty white and pink decor. I love how it’s turned out. I love driving up and being able to see it in the window. We used to have a front garden tree that blocked our window from view but I love it all open now while it’s Christmas time. Come spring shutters will be installed and these old curtains taken down and I can’t wait for that too. It’s all changing in our house. Can’t wait to share my rustic grey and white tree I did in the dining room this year too. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #christmastreedecorating #lifecloseup

It’s going to be a totally different Christmas this year with this Baby boy in tow. Last year he was too little to know what’s going on but this year I know he is a little bit clued in on what’s going on...by that I mean there is a twinkly tree in almost every room that he is dying to pick the baubles off and kick them around like a soccer ball. There is Christmas music constantly being played in our kitchen from some google speaker where when he walks by he has to do a little jolly jig. Mommy keeps baking these yummy treats and giving him a lick and even his very first mouth full of whip cream straight out of the can 😱😳 I know third child syndrome I the older two were about five before I did that. 😂😂 We keep telling him we are off to see Santa next week and practicing “ho ho ho” so he won’t be too scared this year. Who am I kidding no way he is going near Santa even if I showed him a photo everyday until Christmas. 😜 It’s amazing what a year does in a toddlers life! #lifecloseup

Dublin for 24 hours! 🍀 What a whirlwind getaway. We popped over to Ireland for our cousin’s engagement party. It’s amazing how much time flies by in between visiting family when it’s just a 35 minute flight. - it took us less time to fly there than it takes us stuck in traffic into the big city where we frequent a lot. After such a good celebration with family and back home with the kids the next day we realized we need to take mini one nights away more often. I foresee more nights out in Dublin, London, Paris and a few other close by cities we want to visit. With three kids it’s a lot to ask someone to babysit too long so it’s the best of both worlds. We have finished the weekend off with a festive day putting up all the Christmas decorations and listening to carols all day. We may have had too much Xmas fudge and a whole lot of hot chocolate and whipped cream too. Let the magic of December begin!! 🌲 #lifecloseup

A Thanksgiving PhotoBooth! Even the baby was loving the props. Only took him a second to copy his siblings. Mommy may have had a lot of fun in the PhotoBooth herself swipe to see - cant beat a bit of fun family time and pumpkin pie. I think all countries should celebrate Thanksgiving. What’s better than gathering with those you love, family and friends and being thankful? #happythanksgiving #lifecloseup

Getting older! Do you feel like a kid still or a grown up yet? If the latter I would love to know at what point did you feel you were finally a grown up. 😌😌? I feel like in my head I still am so young and so much to accomplish and learn as each year passes. Yet I have stresses of bills to pay, a business to run, kids to look after and a house to keep semi clean 😜 and functioning. But I don’t feel like a grown up yet. Some days I feel like I am playing house like I used to do as a little girl. But I look in the mirror and see wrinkles and laughter lines so surely I must be a grown up by now. This little boy today said I have been a grown up since 20 because that’s when he thinks he will feel all grown up. I smiled and hugged him for his innocence. I didn’t tell him he was wrong because maybe he will be far more mature and grown up at 20 than I was 😂😂 is it the same for everyone. Do we all feel this way? Or are there some definite grown ups out there - hands up ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻 #lifecloseup #grownups #grownupstuff #beingagrownup 💗 📸 by @right_brain_thinking

Do you ever look at your own kids and it bring you back to when you were their age? I feel like I can listen to my two older ones bicker and picture the very same arguments between me and my brother @russripatti 😜😜 I can see her playing with her 100 stuffed animals on her bed and remember doing that very same thing. I was totally obsessed with stuffed animals more than toys. I see MM sitting at her makeup vanity and playing with her hair into little clips and hair accessories singing to herself and think omg she is just like me. But she isn’t. She is MM. And our personalities are so different but boy sometimes she really takes me back to when I was little watching her. Do you ever just sit back and watch your kids and remember being little yourself? #lifecloseup

My snow bunnies are counting the days till Christmas at Grandma’s in America. Only less than a month to go...But I have to say I am probably the most excited I have ever been for the holidays this year. I have never been able to take my kids back home for the holidays. I envision snowman building, snowmobiling, skiing, endless cups of hot chocolate and whip cream, surrounded by extended family. It’s going to be a snowy white one too. I can’t wait to roll around in the fluffy white stuff. What’s your plans for the holiday coming up? #gifted
