Pit & Peak of the Week #11

Last updated on November 16th, 2023 at 04:50 pm

I hope that everyone is having a fantastic weekend. The sun is shining today, so I am full of energy and happiness. I think we may even brave that bitter cold wind and go for an adventure when the kids get up from their nap. It seems like this week has just flown by, not sure what we even did.

p&p

Pit: For unforeseen circumstances, my brother and his family as well as my parents cannot make it over to England for Missy Moo’s upcoming christening. I know it’s out of their hands and these things happen, but it doesn’t make it any easier. I am sad. I wanted so desperately to have more family present but that’s what I get for moving 10,000 miles away. My husband’s family are all in Ireland which means Missy Moo will be christened among close friends, which I am grateful for, but it still feels like something is missing. My Pit this week, is being so far away from both sides of the family, where my kids can’t run around with their first, second, and third cousins, like I did. Family means the world to me, if only the world wasn’t quite so big sometimes, or flight prices weren’t quite so high! I love you family, and you will be there in spirit, I know!

Peak:  Going to the movies with Mr. P. after three long years of waiting. We couldn’t believe the last movie we saw together was when I was pregnant with Buba. Time flies when you look at it that way. It was a lovely, relaxing evening together, watching “American Hustle” and filling ourselves with popcorn, in our big cozy VIP seats. I love VIP seating, the seats are big enough I can curl my feet up, which is like watching, in the comfort of my own home with a big screen and surround sound. Bonus. It was even more entertaining when Mr. P. went to take his coat off right in the middle of a silent movie moment, and knocked our extra large popcorn box off the arm and it went everywhere. hahaha We don’t get out much, can you tell? I scrunched down into my seat, laughing while he hung his head low. It was a nice change to diaper duty! Thanks Mr. P. and Granny for babysitting.

Did you do anything special this week? Or something crazy happen? What’s your Pit & Peak of the Week? Fancy joining up, write your own P&P and use the picture below to link back to here. I look forward to hearing from you all, comment below!

  1. Awwww I can relate to your pit this week!! It can be so hard some days being so far from family can’t it!! I’ve been thinking about doing a pit and peak on my blog too, have you considered starting it as a linky? X

    • Yes I am!!!! I just haven’t got around to making it an official link up. But people write their pit & peak then copy and paste the picture that I made and link back to me for now. I wanted to see what kind of response I got from it first before I started it as a link. I didn’t want to start one and no one link up! Boo. Hahaha I am a new blogger.

        • Yes, by all means use my picture (that’s what it’s for haha) and link back to me. Let me know if you don’t know how to link a picture to a website, I have only just learned myself. lol Once I have a few more doing Pit & Peak of the week it will become a linky too. So definitely stay tuned. I did brave it and am starting a linky called “melt your heart moments” this Wednesday, I am so nervous. Please check it out. http://www.letstalkmommy.com/melt-your-heart-moments Would love to see you there!!!

  2. ha! We haven’t been to the cinema either since our daughter was born nearly 2 years ago. On the rare occasions we have time together we go to the pub!

    • Sounds good to me. haha As long as you are getting time together I don’t think it matters what you do. We usually go out to dinner and have drinks too but lately we have had more babysitting help then we have ever had so we took advantage after kiddies went to bed and thought let’s catch a movie. lol

  3. I absolutely love this idea and am drafting up a post for this week now, I shall link back but can’t see if there’s a linky?

I’m sorry that you won’t have family around for the christening, that must be hard. Wouldn’t it be nice if teleportation or ruby slippers existed? Great news on the cinema, Mr. TBaM and I manage to go a few times a year and I think we’re due one soon. I once spilled a bucket of popcorn over the person in front of me when I was finding my seat in Mamma Mia!

Nipping over from blogsRus shared thread.

    • That’s hilarious, I think we all have been there. I once sat in the front row of the balcony seating theater and knocked it over the balcony, not just on one but about twenty people. EEEk… not good. I am so clumsy. Thanks for popping over I hope to see more of you here. 😉

  4. it is a shame when your family are not near you, even when mine were 2 hours away in Yorkshire it was bad enough, between all our different shifts and commitments we only saw them 2 or 3 times a year. Now I can pop in every day

    • Hi Elaine, I would do anything to be able to pop in everyday or at least every week. You are very, very lucky. Hopefully it won’t always be like this, so far away. 😉

    • Oh no Kim you really must get to the movies together, bless ya. Ya, I don’t think it matters how far our families are away if we don’t get the chance to see them very often it’s still really hard. I would love my parents just down the street like some of my friends have, that would be amazing, guess I can keep wishing.
