Pit & Peak of the Week #28

Last updated on November 16th, 2023 at 06:14 pm

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope everyone got out and enjoyed some sunshine. We were certainly excited to see it this morning after yesterday’s down pours and storms. The kids weren’t too fond of the thunder and lightening, honestly, neither was I. It was good to get back into the swing of music and swimming classes after half term. The kids have been impressing me each week in their swimming lessons and I love watching them dance around in music class, happily waving their hands in the air.

With the festivities behind us, I thought this week would be quiet, a time to relax and catch up on some zzz’s. I couldn’t have been more wrong with our America trip just around the corner, I have too much to get done before we leave. That forever “to do list” just got a whole lot longer.

Welcome to Pit & Peak of the Week, as with every week, I rave about my high and vent about my low of the week.

running

Pit: Lack of exercise is my huge pit this week. I am missing running so badly, it hurts but not as bad as my knee has been hurting. I thought after my 10K run a little rest and TLC would heal it but it’s just not happening. I took the medicine the gp gave me and did what she told me but again nothing has changed. I need to see a sports therapist, I think. Get back to running and being fit is next on my list. It starts to make me feel frumpy when I can’t get out there and get my exercise on. At first, a little break didn’t bother me but now, I am missing my running shoes badly this week. Like when someone tells you, you can’t have something you want it more. My goals are even farther out of reach and it’s such a pit.

Peak: We were so lucky to get the chance to go out for a meal with some close friends last night. It was probably our last night out together until my trip back home for two months. So we wanted to make the most of it. It was nice to get dressed up and the sun came out just in time. We had a lovely dinner, tapas style. And I even had my very first Gin & Tonic with Butwhymummywhy. It was a lovely evening, full of friendly conversations, laughter, and dancing. We are so lucky to have good friends close by that we can go out with. It was a great night for our last night out before my big trip. I am going to miss Mr P so much until he joins us a few weeks later in the states.
