We are back from Disney World. I hope you all enjoyed our holiday spam (still more to come apologies). I have so many videos, how to’s, preparation posts and days out videos to share with you in the coming weeks. I will try to spread it all out so you don’t get completely sick of it. But if you have been there you will know you get that Disney bug and the holiday blues set in far too quickly when you come back to a cold, rainy UK. Sharing our very first Disney experience with all of you keeps me from letting those holiday blues take over. However, the jetlag is doing enough damage this week. After walking what seems like 10 miles a day for 8 days, my third trimester body definitely needs a break. I think we all just about beat jetlag ready for the weekend ahead.
On another note, I totally got hooked on Mickey Mouse pretzels. Yes, these beauties below stole my heart and stomach at the same time especially dipped in cream cheese. They were the perfect snack midmorning or afternoon when I was needing a pick me up. I am sadly, craving them like mad her and the bakery pretzels just don’t compare. I need Disney to ship me a box… 🙁
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I am reading one of my book club books called How to Stop Time by Matt Haig. I will be honest I had no idea what it was going to be about and to make it interesting I didn’t even read the blurb on the back. I love that when a book is selected for book club to do this as it makes it’s more interesting if it’s a genre you may not normally read because you are absolutely clueless which genre until you get in a few chapters. I like to keep things interesting. This book definitely is different. I am only a few chapters in. It doesn’t feel like a gripping page turner but a nice light read.
While on holiday I sped through About Last Night by Catherine Alliott. It was a great chic lit read for holiday but with enough drama to not make it too predictable and cheesy. Definitely one I would recommend. The long haul flight was a huge help in speeding through it. I wish I had brought two books to read as I had nothing to read at pool side by the end of the holiday.
Did you hear? I have redesigned my site and have a new logo? Or maybe this should be a cheat for have you seen? hahahaha Either way, I have new colors, new logo and a new layout to play with. Please bare with me while I make tweets and get posts in the right subcategories to make it easier for you to search for them. But what do you think? I am hoping this makes it look a little more professional and a little more fun snooping around including my new SHOP.
Did you hear? I have a new SHOP page where you can shop all my interiors, wardrobe, kid’s wardrobe and even my food styling and kitchen favorites. I will be updating these every month as I get asked a lot on instagram or on my blog where I buy things. I thought this would be a fun new addition. Please check it out. Note this SHOP page is still in tweeting mode so I can make it a little more stylish when I get caught up from holiday.
Watched my latest video on my youtube channel? I have given myself a challenge of uploading a video every Wednesday for a whole year. So far, I have kept up even while on holiday. I have so many videos I want to get out to you that there may even be a few weeks with two videos going live. Look at me, taking that vlogging plunge finally. I just hope I can keep it up when baby arrives. Wish me luck! In the meantime, would love you to check out my vlogs and let me know what you think.
The whole family got in on the Mickey Mouse fashion this past week. Even Daddy, whom I never thought I could get into a matching top as the family strutted it happily. I was lucky to barely get mine over my bump not anticipating being so big at this stage in my pregnancy but I made it work. The kids loved us all having family t-shirts. If I would have known everyone was so into it, I would have got a different one for each day! Would have made getting ready a lot easier. I struggled what to wear in Disney. Skirts were comfortable but my legs rubbed, shorts were uncomfortable on the bump after a long day and summer dresses just made me look three times bigger (especially in photos) than I really am. That seems to be the theme everyone telling me I look a lot bigger online than I do in person. Do I count that as a bad thing or a good thing?
We made the effort to get in touch with one of my closest friends from High School. She has been living in Orlando for years and we only get to see each other if we all happen to be visiting home at the same time or big celebrations like our weddings. I should say she made the biggest effort in driving the 40 mins to meet up for a day at Epcot and then another day of swimming at our hotel. Her two little girls are just precious and they had so much fun with my two playing in the pool, holding hands and running around after each other. I really wish I lived closer. We have the best memories growing up together and it’s such a pleasure and honor to keep doing that with our kids in tow. I can’t wait to get together again soon. She is a lifetime friend. You know the ones you had such you were little and no matter how long time goes by if you get together you are right back to as if you always saw each other. That’s our friendship and I cherish it so much even if we don’t speak every week.
Oh course, we celebrated Valentine’s Day while we were away. Sadly, Disney was a little disappointing in the fact that they didn’t decorate or do anything special for it at the theme park. I was hoping to walk in to people selling red mickey balloons and pink minnie flowers and more. 🙁 Hubby isn’t into the holiday so it was just another day at the park for us. (not complaining) but my gorgeous instagrammables of #lifecloseup kept me happy with all their celebration snaps. Check out these feeds, click the photo to be taken to the list.
