Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, half term and all had a fabulous Easter weekend last weekend. I have been playing catch up this week with things settling back down after my Momma leaving and Easter over with.
This is are very last weekend until September where we will all be home together and have no plans to do anything. We fully plan to live life simply, sit around spending quality time together and nothing else. I can’t wait. So here are the little things we have been loving this week.
As I mentioned I have been on blog catch up this week from my time off with my Momma. I hope I have pretty much caught up after commenting on over 250 blogs this week. Phew! If I missed you apologies, I will be back soon. 🙂 If I could list all the amazing blog posts I have read this week here, I really would. But for Easter’s sake I will list a few great Easter posts instead here.

This past Easter weekend we took full advantage of the sales and finally bought us some patio furniture. It was hard to choose from so many different options but we went with something that we would get the most use out of. Each night we have been putting the kids to bed and sitting next to the fire. Mr P has been reading a book and either I am working on my laptop or reading too but either way we have been listening to the crackle of the fire, night after night and it’s blissful.
I have been watching my children lately a lot more in depth than I normally do, and worrying about silly little things. Do you ever find yourself worrying about little things in the future already? Maybe it’s just me. I know that at 3 and 1 years old, I should have very little to worry about for them. I guess it’s started with Buba, I have mentioned his severe allergies, and then his eye sight went bad and now his hearing. Each day I worry if Missy Moo will have any of these struggles too. I am thankful for technology that there are epi pens, glasses and grommets to aid all of these struggles so he can live a normal life but it still makes me worry. I wonder how many other technology advances will help my children out. I even noticed that they both have slightly crooked bottom teeth and the years of head guards, braces, retainers and pain of my sister trying to straighten hers all come flooding back to me. I already have my eye on invisalign london if that’s the case. It’s these things that I am constantly worrying about for my kids. I pray that MM doesn’t have to rely on so many aids as her brother does. So I watch them more closely lately and I see their similarities yet I hope they have some differences too.
I used to get my nails done every two weeks for years and then when I had Buba I stopped and it’s been years since I really got them properly done at a salon. I didn’t mind painting them myself but l had the opportunity a few months ago to get them painted and I realized how much I missed the whole aspect of it. Going to the salon, the chit chat, the pretty designs they could do that I couldn’t, and the time to myself being pampered. So lately I have been spoiling myself and this is what I am wearing this week and love it. (along with my new watch but you can’t really see the front of it).
Missy Moo had a big first this week too, she finally has enough hair (ok almost enough) to make a ponytail. It was so cute how she just sat there cross legged while I did her hair. I have been waiting to play around with her hair for almost two years now. The side are still a little short but I can’t wait to learn to braid and do all sorts with it. She looked so grown up.
It’s no secret we are loving being a Konfidence ambassador this year, and it’s also no secret the kids absolutely love all their products. It really could be what they are wearing each week as they never take their swimming gear off these days. These hooded swim towels are truly amazing and not just for swimming either. My two have been using them after the bath time and as you can see from their faces they love them. I was impressed how soft they stayed after a few washes too. We are off to France next week and I can’t wait to take them with us to test out on the beach. They will be great when the kids get out of the water for snack time and can slip these on. Konfidence really have so many great quality products for your little ones.
While I am trying to turn my eating habits around and lead a healthier lifestyle, I have a secret obsession… shhh don’t tell anyone those pesky crepes are my weakness. I wish I could say I can’t make very good ones but unfortunately for me and my waistline I can and I hear them calling my name every few days. This week I have made them numerous times and I really do need to kick the habit. I want to start eating cleaner and healthier than I do at the moment. This urge to be a better me inside and out has been in the back of my mind for a while now and I have been asking around on twitter and facebook for clean eating cookbooks and healthier recipes. My kids eat like kings and I am so strict with their diets and yet I continue to feed myself with all the rubbish foods you can think of and it’s not right. I should be setting a better example and while they are still young I want to change that.
It’s been sunny outside can you believe it. I only wish it had been that way for my trip to Venice but nevertheless at least I get to enjoy it now. I have been trying to chill out more and just play with the kids out back since the weather has been nice. You never know when it will turn back to rain upon rain so I am trying to make the most of it. It’s felt good to slow down a bit on the every day whirlwind I call, my life. Sometimes I let my schedule get out of control and get run down and along with my healthier lifestyle slowing down is a must. At first it was hard to say, no, to friends asking to meet up, or making plans here and there and don’t get me wrong our next four months on the calendar are packed full but it was the days in between that I used to filled too and those are the days I am now on the carpet reading to the kids, or drawing with sidewalk chalk on the sidewalk outside or out back playing ball in the yard and those are the best times to cherish. I want more of those this year for us all. Life goes fast enough on it’s own there is no need for me to speed it up by filling every moment of the day with activities and things to do.
It’s the time of year again….
