Phew! What a week. With our schedules bursting at the seems before we head to America for the summer and two days in London this week and a million errands in between, I am ready for it to be the weekend. Although we all know that doesn’t mean slowing down, does it? I am mostly just looking forward to sleeping pass the school drop off time on Saturday and Sunday morning. The kids have a few obligations to go to this weekend and I am in desperate need of trying to start packing for us all too.
I have been trying to work through my work to do list too before I go and there never seem to be enough time each day to finish it all. I always like to get on that plane each summer all caught up on work and take the first week we land there to catch up with family and just “be”. It’s hard to just be when you are used to the rush and bustle of life’s ‘to do’ lists isn’t it? Once I take that week to calm down and set my clock on a slower pace of life, I am truly relaxed. I can’t wait to use that time to work on new business ideas and plan, plan, plan for the future!
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I am not going to lie I took my time with Strictly Between Us as it’s been chaos here but finally started Little Boy Blue. It’s a bit deeper and intense than I expected and a little too 50 Shades for me but half way through so I will see it through. I have a whole list of books I really want to read while I am at my parents house this summer. It’s usually where I get all my reading done for the year. Here is a sneak peak at my list:
I See You, The Second Love of My Life, All Involved,
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Marble Collector, and My Name is Leon.
I haven’t been listening to much lately on the radio as we haven’t been home much at the moment. But I did get some good news that my friend is pregnant which is always amazing to hear. They have been trying for awhile so I am so over the moon for them.
My latest vlog is up…and I have a bunch in the pipeline that I can’t wait to share with you over the next few weeks. I will be trying to vlog our U.S. summer trip while we are there too.
While in London with Morgana, we stopped in The White Company Christmas Event. You may say Christmas in July but I am one of those it’s never too early for Christmas and getting that festival feeling. I came across this absolutely gorgeous white puffer jacket that is now on my Christmas wish-list. It was like being wrapped up in a duvet, so soft and so cozy. The Christmas decor and clothing were so dreamy too.
Of course, it’s not Christmas time just yet and I even got to catch some sunshine the following day. I had the chance to finally strut my new black Asos sandals. It was the first time I have ever worn my boyfriend jeans in public along with these new pointy shoes. They are definitely two new items to my wardrobe that don’t fit my normal style but I love them together.
I got to gather with the #streamteam from Netflix Uk and Ireland this week to share some exciting news coming up for them. The event was lovely and it was fun to attend with my blogging buddy and real life friend Morgana from Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. We got to share all the shows we have all been loving, ones we are dying to see and new and upcoming shows that are being added this summer. We even got to decorate some cookie characters, making terrariums, and have some craft time too. I made this lovely “Fun” bunting and this gorgeous terrarium. Let’s see how long I can keep my terrarium alive!
For those that haven’t had a chance to join in or may not know, I have a fun hashtag community going over on Instagram called #lifecloseup for all those zoomed in captures of life. It can be of anything: home interiors, food, family, fashion, beauty, travel, and more. It’s such a supportive community as well so come join us in sharing your snapshots. Here is this week’s favorite grid as I share my nine favorite every Sunday to share the love for beautiful instagram feeds. Click over to my instagram here to see links to each feed.

You certainly have been busy but it will all be worth it when you get to the US. Love the bunting and terrarium.
Yes it’s definitely all worth it. I can’t wait to get on that plane (or those planes I should say) and be home. Thanks lovely I am not the crafting type but I give it my best.
Jenny I Love that outfit, you look super and should definitely step out of your comfort zone more often. LOVE! Sounds like you have had a super week. Catch up soon lovely x
I feel a bit frumpy in boyfriend jeans but they are super comfy not going to lie about that. Thanks lovely you are too sweet. Yes definitely catch up when I get back lovely.
You are amazing on film! LOVE the look of that smoothie and loving your boyfriend jeans too. So sad I couldn’t make the Netflix event 🙁 x
That was a shame you couldn’t make it. It was lovely. Won’t rub it in though. Thanks I always feel a bit frumpy in boyfriend jeans but comfy. Price we pay I guess. lol I wouldn’t say amazing on film but thank you so much if only I could film and edit this good in my own house I would do vlogs every single day! lol 🙂
Those jeans with those shoes look totally amazing! I am liking the boyfriend jeans and keep meaning to buy myself a pair. That coat looks so incredibly warm as well. I absolutely LOVE the white company and buy loads of their clothes for my work, but personally I can never get away with any of their stuff as I just end up getting filthy with my nearly 3 year old around!
Oh I know I was worried if I bought this coat it would be grey in just a few weeks with my two little sticky fingers. Do go get yourself a pair took me forever to buy them now I live in them. lol Funny when that happens with a trend.
I so agree with your plan for the holiday, time to relax and then time to reflect, think, create and plan. I always take nice stationery on holiday to do this, I come back refreshed and ready for the new year (teacher habit my life is measured in school years!) The white jacket suits you well.
That’s such a great idea. I love stationary need to get some new stuff to get my creative juices flowing. lol I love your life is measured in school years that’s too funny but good habit to have. Thanks I love a white jacket.
Loved our time in London, I had so much fun! Going to miss you this summer, boo xx
I know me too. We will have to facetime and keep tabs. This summer will be shorter than last summer so won’t seem as long. It’s already flying by so fast.
Busy Busy but sounds fantastic. I completely know what you mean about struggling to get through the to do list-mine just keeps growing with no motivation to get through it. Make sure you do get that downtime when you hit America though. Your London days sound fab. I love Christmas no matter the time of year. Its just one of those wonderful feelings. You look gorgeous in your boyfriend jeans and new shoes-a great look! I hope you get packed and sorted soon, have an amazing time and can’t wait to catch up on reading an watching some more of your posts/videos x
Yes, I have definitely been being lazy and relaxing a lot more in the states than ever before. Mostly because with eight hour time difference it’s hard to get the social media right when everyone else is sleeping or the nice weather and pool calls my name and I ignore the emails. lol But that’s what summers are about right?
