So Fresh So Clean, Pumpkin baking, and a watchman #littleloves

It’s the end of a very busy week but I feel it’s been a long time coming at the same time. I worked really hard at tackling things that have been on my ‘to do’ lists forever like finishing my downstairs bathroom and the kitchen breakfast bar. Even those pesky things like getting a house key cut as Mr P lost his, and running that annoying check someone wrote to deposit into the bank. Who writes checks anymore? Cost me 50p to park just for one second in the bank. It was a race around each day between school drop offs/pickups, birthday party, music/swimming/gymnastic classes and the general feeding and napping of a toddler. Phew… I made it to FriYAY!

bathroomTHIS WEEK I AM LOVING…

READ
I am reading Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee. I loved To Kill A Mockingbird in high school. I am a huge fan of classics. I am only a quarter into it but loving it. It’s been nice to make myself take time to chill out and read a good book again. I have a few on my waiting list already.

HEARD
I have been listening to a lot of rock lately. Mostly because I love them for the background to my youtube videos but also it’s just a genre I haven’t really got into in the past and find all the songs I like are classified as rock so maybe this country girl has a little rock to her after all.

WATCHED
Have you seen our recent family adventures to Chester Zoo and how about My Expat Series episode four? Or our raving review on the amazing iCandy Raspberry? Oh yes, we have been catching up on our youtube channel sharing our new videos. There is lots for you to see and I would love you to pop by and let me know what you think.

Here is a sneak peak in the Week of our USA lives 2015 if you missed our summer adventures on Instgram.

WORE
This week has been really cold, the heat is on full blast now. I think winter is upon us already. I have been loving my new black and white plaid poncho and snuggling in some favorite scarves which is typical for my go to look for the school run. I am still looking for the perfect “school mom” coat though. If you know any good ones please tell me. Hoods, pockets, and warmth are all a must while looking oh-so-trendy. It’s a hard combo to find I know. My new Mint Velvet grey sweater with gold star is a lounge wear must-have, I swear I feel like I am wearing pyjamas.

MADE

I have been back on the good eating path preparing for Christmas time where I usually go the complete wrong way with my eating and gain that 5-10lb holiday cheer. I have been packing these meals in for lunch and dinner from my 30 day no junk challenge and trying to avoid those biscuits and carbs at night. It’s so hard when it goes dark early and cold out. I find myself always wanted something comforting.

My 30 day no junk diet challenge this summer

With every diet there must be life balance so I also made these amazing Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting they may have had to go directly to B’s school PTA meeting to keep me from eating them all in one go but the one I ate was worth every calorie, lip smacking and delicious.

AND LASTLY…

There are so many rooms that seem unfinished in my house so I am on a mission before Christmas to get all the tiny little things done and do some good home tours here on LTM that I have been slacking on. I finally finished my downstairs bathroom only yesterday. I love the photo above the toilet, “So Fresh, So Clean” that I have put on the wall. I made it using picmonkey. Any excuse to personalize my house even further, I will do it. I love the pale grey paint that I have painted in there too, it matches the kitchen that I have just painted and our front living room. My breakfast bar is being finished next week so I can update you all on my new kitchen look. We put in white tiles to bring in more light and ripped out the island shelves that were useless and made a place to sit / eat or visit with friends while I cook. B’s room is finally finished last week too. I am just waiting it to be a bright sunny day so I can take photos. I am still in search for a circle large dining table and my walk in wardrobe is having a makeover in three weeks which I can’t wait to show you all. I have been saving forever to customize it and have a special place for everything. Now if only I could decorate my shelves and like how I style them. Anyone a professional shelf styler I NEED YOUR help. 🙂 I can’t stop moving things around and something just isn’t right on them.

With all the final touches going on in the house after four and half years of living with some rooms just empty, I have also pulled everything out this week to put on ebay. There are piles in every room waiting for a new home. I can’t wait to start the new year, house finished, closets organized, loft and garage clean and start it all over again.

    • Me too, I really need to make sure to do it each week. Such a great way to round up the week too. I have been major decluttering and feeling better for it.

  5. The bathroom looks stunning. I’m in the process of sorting mine out again after a visit from the plumber. Good luck with the tidying and the restyle #sharewithme as I’d already commented on the linked post 🙂
