Santa's Grotto Farmer Ted's Christmas 2017

We decided we wouldn’t do our annual Christmas tradition riding the little train through our village and up to the Hall where we see Santa. As the kids get older, we thought they would like to do a bit more festive activities in the lead up to see Santa. We found Farmer Ted’s online with elf school, reindeer making recipes, and so much for kids to do before and after they see Santa’s Grotto. So off we went on our festive adventure…

The kids were surprised to be ushered into a dark room and handed 3D glasses. We all got to watch a lovely Christmas cartoon movie in 3D together. It really made the kids giddy for Santa and all of us get in the holiday mode. We had presents and bubbles floating all around us. MM kept shouting, “I can’t grab them are they real” throughout the movie.

It was fab having so many other families there at the same time with their slot times. It wasn’t too crowded for each group and everyone was lovely about taking family photos for you, in exchange to take theirs too. We probably got more photos of the four of in one day then all year. Bonus. I recommend if you are going to grab a coffee on the way into Elf School for the adults. You can sip it while they write their letters to Santa and while you watch the 3D movie.

We then we guided to the tractor ride to get to Sant’s Grotto. The kids were excited to be up front in high anticipation to spot Santa or reindeer if they could. MM shocked Santa as much as she shocked us when she ran and jumped in Santa’s lap, hugging him, whispering, I love you Santa. I almost cried and it wasn’t the pregnancy hormones. Okay, maybe a little. She was clearly star struck like I have never seen her before. I don’t think her smile could get any bigger. You can tell with her photo with Santa below she is practically laying on him.

They received fab gifts that were ripped open the moment we got outside and squealed over. But their excited was to see the reindeer and learn how to make reindeer food so that they could have it for Christmas Eve. Of course, reindeer need guided to the house since it’s our first Christmas in the UK with the kids they are really worried Santa will be looking for us in America or Ireland instead. hahaha

The beauty of going to Farmer Ted’s is they have a huge variety of other animals. Once the kids were over the excitement of the reindeer and wondering why one didn’t have a red nose for Rudolph, they were off to pet donkey, see the guinea pigs and ride on the go-carts with Daddy. It really was such a great full day out to see Santa. It’s what you want in a Santa’s Grotto and the souvenirs and photos were reasonably priced and we all were in it this year too.

I think MM has changed her mind and wants a donkey for Christmas. She was in heaven petting him.
