Happy Friday! I can’t tell you how relieved I am, it’s the weekend. Normally, I am ok with the busy routines of Christmas and December. This year, lately, it’s been a bit much. Last weekend, just about killed me between a company dinner, Santa’s Grotto, soccer practice, five course dinner review, gymnastics and school mom’s dinner out, all in one weekend. I was up one night until 3am and the next until midnight. I am lacking zzzz’s badly at the moment. I think the rush of Thanksgiving celebrations, than Christmas decorating and then all the school xmas fair, play, and each week bringing something different for both kids was about three weeks worth of jam packed action. At 17 weeks pregnant that’s exhausting to say the least. I have a huge plan this weekend come school pick up to turn the computer off, hide my phone and stay in my pjs from 3:30 Friday to Monday morning school run. That’s reasonable right?
If you know me though that won’t happen because there is still soccer and gymnastics, there is still laundry and dishes, family are staying over Friday for a Christmas movie and dinner celebrations, I am out for dinner for the other school class mom dinner and I have about four photo shoots from recipe to tablescape to the kids to do by Monday. There goes my lazy weekend I think. Maybe I will rest in January. One can hope.
But the kids are all together on a different page than dear old Mommy. They are giddy with energy with the excitement of Santa coming soon. We are staying in the UK for Xmas this year. Our first Christmas where we won’t go anywhere for the school break. We have absolutely nothing planned. I can’t wait to just snuggle my babies and chill out. I daresay these two will need a lot of bike riding, if there is no snow and park runs to burn off all this holiday hyperness. It’s the first year where they both were so mesmerized and star struck by Santa too. I think it will be the best celebrations so far.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I finally finished Wilde Like Me. It’s a good, easy chic lit read. I think it lacked drama or suspense to keep me interested. I normally love a good chic lit book having written one myself, it’s my genre. But I am starting to be drawn to more sci-fantasy after reading the Red Crown series. I just bought the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series to jump into for the holiday break. Have you read it or any of Laini Taylor’s books?

It’s been a busy week for work too. I fully had planned on doing vlogmas too. I loved it last year but somewhere in the mix I got ill the start of December than the kids got slap cheek and I was on high alert as it’s harmful to baby. The stress and tiredness got to me and I didn’t get to start vlogmas as hoped. However, I have been still getting videos up every few days so do watch our holiday adventures and please come subscribe to my channel too.
I am not quite in the maternity clothes but we are almost half way through this pregnancy. It goes so fast with each child, I swear. I am loving soft tops. Mostly soft sweaters from Zara. This cream with pearls is a new favorite I just scooped up. It will cover bump for months to come too.
I have made the whole house look like Santa’s Grotto. The kitchen, the hallway, the bathrooms and three-six foot Christmas trees are decorating my house this year. Since we are staying in the UK, I wanted to go over the top and decorate each room. I almost was going to purchase Christmas bedding for everyone’s bed in the house. I love the feeling the house gives off when it’s all decorated. It makes it warm and cozy. Each tree is decorated so different from our white tree with pink and blue baubles for the playroom, the rustic all glass tree in the dining room, and the rose gold and white tree in the living room. I love each one for different reasons and make each room we are in so festive. Can you tell I love Christmas?
I am not the only one getting festive. Take a look at these beautiful Christmasy instagram feeds. Click the grid below to see who’s feeds you should follow this week. Let’s all share the holiday spirit. Come join me using the hashtag #lifecloseup.

Oh I love how into Christmas you get – and you look blooming gorgeous! So excited for your baby boy to come along, I can’t imagine you with another baby but I know as soon as he starts appearing in your photos it will be like he’s always been there! x
Thank you Donna, it’s my favorite holiday by far. I know I am the very same I can’t imagine more than two and feels weird imagining another little boy in my heart and in our lives but when they appear they feel like they have always been there, like magic.
Loving all the christmassy themed posts this week! I adored the gender video! So cute that you incorporated christmas into it! Love your cream top, you look gorgeous! Have a wonderful weekend xx
Oh thanks hunny, sorry for late reply found you in my spam box sadly. But caught you now. Can’t beat a lot of Christmas festivities so magical the end of the year.
I need to lay down after reading what you’ve been up to and I didn’t even do all of it! You need to put your feet up Jenny. I love how the kids both came over and talked to your tummy when they found out you’re having a boy, that is so cute. Hope you have a lovely weekend and a well deserved rest x
Oh I know it melted my heart as I knew MM was about to cry it really surprised me that she did that and if she did it her brother always will follow or vice versa they are each other’s shadows. hahah They talk to my bump constantly even when I am trying to cook or do something and lift my shirt. No privacy anymore. lol Yes attempting to rest today.
I have Wilde like me, I’m yet to make a proper start on it though. I totally agree that each pregnancy goes so fast, I’m approaching the 42 week mark and even though I’m definitely ready to meet her now I just can’t believe how fast it has gone! #littleloves
Oh I remember hitting 42 weeks with my son it seems like get here already by the end of it. So excited to meet baby… and hope to read all about baby milestones on my Bumps and Babies linky if you ever want to share every Thursday. Making me broody and I am already pregnant.
I love your decorations, they’re so pretty and I do get the different themes as I do it too, we have the Hansel and Gretel tree, wishes tree, driftwood nativity tree as well as the big lounge tree. I love dressing the house, it makes it all so sparkly and cosy. Hope this week calms down for you it’s an exhausting but fun time in the run up to Christmas isn’t it. Take care x
Oh my Jenny, as usual I’m tired out just reading what you’ve been up to! I hope you managed to get even a little bit of rest over the weekend. Love your Zara jumper, I really need to start looking at Zara again as every one always seems to find such lovely things from there. xx
Oh thanks hunny, I haven’t shopped in Zara for years and I just fell in love with it all over again too. It’s one of those you can come back to throughout various seasons some work for you and some seasons don’t. I am loving a lot of their stuff at the moment.
Wow you have been so busy! I hope you get a chance to recharge over the festive break. Your pictures look so Christmassy. I haven’t read the book but the cover looks great! xx
