It’s the weekend and while I really want to shout “hip hip hooray” because it’s also the start of half term for us. While everyone has been spamming on instagram their amazing October half terms we have still been in school. We are always the week after everyone else it seems. Makes it hard to plan playdates with friends when they aren’t at the same time. Sadly, we aren’t saying hip hip hooray to the start as MM was so kind to share her vomit bug with the rest of the family and our first day of half term saw us, one by one, go down like dominos. Poor Daddy, took the day off for nothing bless him.
But lucky for us we got a morning playdate before the bug got us and saw some blue skies. It’s the second day of half term and we bounced back as fast as we went down yesterday so we are now looking forward to making up for it.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I finished The People at Number 9 and if you saw my latest vlog you would have saw that I wasn’t a fan. After 250 pages nothing had yet to happen which was a disappointment. I felt the story was lacking and needed for twists and drama. I am starting Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland tonight, will let you know thumbs up or down next week.
Surly you have heard of Black Friday? It’s the day after Thanksgiving for us Americans but it also marks the biggest shopping day of the year. While it’s been an American thing for so long it’s now creeping into a global thing and even viral too. You can now shop the sales online. I have been sharing my TOP TIPS to be prepared for Black Friday sales this week. Do check it out and get prepared you won’t regret the bargains you score right from your very own home now.
I watched these three have the very best playdate ever while us adults caught up, did some work, and hung out. We love getting together with Kerri-Ann and her beautiful photographic boy G. The three kids play so well together. There isn’t a time where they leave one out from the other which can often happen when there is two of mine and just one other child. It’s always comfortable and fun we get out to explore together. We watched them run around my garden and then hit the park after lunch for some swan and duck feeding too.
Sorry more holiday spam from France, for once, I had time to set my timer on my camera and prop it up on a rock or a ledge to share my outfits. I have yet to have an Instagram hubby it’s never going to happen. I just need to get better at timers and setups on my own. In the past, I am usually too busy chasing kids down the beach, making sure they are ok and having fun with them to stop and set a timer. It was a nice adult weekend away and also awesome to have some much needed sunshine in October. I even got my bikini on and read my book for two hours, it felt amazing.
This week we got the kids in the kitchen to make some delicious Halloween Snack Mix as we have friends coming over for a Halloween party on Tuesday. The weather hasn’t been on my side for food styling unfortunately it’s been an absolute cave in my house. But it came out better than last years as we used icing sugar to coat instead of melted white chocolate, less mess and easier to eat. The flavors were delicious. We made this in less than five minutes. My kind of recipe.
My little hashtag community on instagram is flourishing. I love it so much. I started it with only two photos and now it’s 97,000+ photos tagged in it. WOW! While I get blocked now if I like every single photo I will continue to share and promote the beautiful instagrammers that join in each week and like as many as it will let me each day. Here are a few of my favorites this week! Do check out their stunning feeds and what they are zooming in with life. It’s a lovely and supportive community. What do you love snapping up on instagram???? Click photo to see these feeds…
