After the birth of my daughter and turning 30, all in the same year, I decided it was time that I get healthy. I have always been an unhealthy eater, and hated drinking plain water ,which is very unhealthy. I was so bad that I would go days without drinking any water at all. To me, water has no flavour and is boring when I could have a coffee or juice instead. Then I was introduced to the CitrusZinger and with this fancy invention I could turn my plain water into infused water with just a few twists.

I was so thoroughly impressed with it straight away. I may hate plain water but I have always been very fond of infused water especially at spas. Spas always have pitchers full of it, welcoming their clients to hydrate and refresh. Now I could have my own spa infused water with me whenever I wanted.

CitrusZingerCollageHow it works: First choose your citrus preference, lemon, lime, or grapefruit, all are popular choices. Open the bottom, and fill with ice if you like, and cold water. Then insert the green press piece inside and lock in place. Keep your water bottle tipped upside down so you can press your citrus fruit on top with no hassle. Cut your fruit in half, place on top, press, twist, and pow, you have a delicious, healthy, infused bottle of water. It’s that easy.

There are many flavours you can mixed and match according to your own taste. For a sharp taste, my favourite is lemon & lime together. I press the lime and give it a few good twists and then I do the same with one half of my lemon then leave the other half in the bottom to infuse further for a fuller taste. I also like to pre-fill my water bottle with a ton of ice, then water, then infuse with my choice of citrus concoctions. Lemon & lime together is my favourite combination after a good run or to take to the gym.

Take it one step further and slice up a few strawberries and cucumbers, add them to your water, then infuse some grapefruit in it. This combination is what I call my spa infused drink, it’s a bit sweeter but still has that sharp bite. I like to have it with a chicken salad or sandwich for lunch.

For a more bold taste, try clementines and oranges! On a hot summer’s day this would be deliciously refreshing.

IMG_0216RSOne of the great things about the CitrusZinger water bottle is it is so easy to clean. No more messing around with those juicing trays and having to clean the tray you used to squeeze the juice out of and the funnel to get it in your water bottle. All the pieces easily come apart and are top shelf dishwasher safe. Toss them in the top rack, and it’s as easy cleaning them as it is infusing fruit into them.

I also love the big loop hole for a handle. It makes it easy to carry and I can attach it to my stroller hook when I am out with the kids for easy access. The bottle itself is thick plastic of high quality, and BPA free too. IMG_0238RSAlong with my healthy eating and drinking, exercise is lacking. Now, that the weather is getting nicer I have dusted off the running shoes and getting back out there. It’s so refreshing to come home and have this amazing citrus infused drink waiting in the fridge to clench my thirst or next to me at the gym. It hydrates, is healthy and taste so delicious. NO MORE PLAIN WATER!

  1. Such a neat yet seemingly simple way to enjoy flavored water. I typically slice fruit and then let it steep overnight but this would be so much quicker. Thanks for sharing!

  2. That is really good. Great idea as, for lent I have taken up drinking water but it’s nice to have a change isn’t it.
I’d love to win one. X
Well done on the exercise too. It’s easier in better weather isn’t it.

  3. This looks really nice and refreshing. I love water and I love coke (a bit too much) and am always trying to wean my self away from it so this would be a nice alternative.

  4. I love this idea! I am actually unusual in the fact that i’m happy to drink plain water but I do love the idea of having citrus twang in it and it’m at home I will often squeeze a lime into a glass of water, this would be a great way of doing the same on the go!

  5. Yes a happy medium. Enter to win or click the link in the post and grab yourself one now. I am obsessed with mine. And they sell other ones for different fruits more of a chop chop one instead of citrus. They are fantastic.

  11. I think it is a great idea and a great price too. I am sure I would benefit from it as I hardly ever drink water, it is just too plain for my taste buds.

  12. Would to try this, what a great idea. I would things like strawberrys and bananas maybe pinapple as well. This would be great for what ever season we are in.Would also love to review it to. Thank you Elaine

  13. I would use this all the time. I’m not so good about drinking water, but when it’s infused, particularly with citrus peel, i will drink it all day!

  14. What a creative clever water bottle idea! Strawberries and cucumbers could be used too!
I like to walk and this would be great to take along!

  15. Exactly my thoughts. Yummy summer time Mojitos. Probably would work in this too! haha Good idea. Hope you got your entries in.

  16. Me too, I really did struggle. I am loving all the various recipes that I can do with it too so there is never a dull water moment in this house now. Good luck to win!

  19. I’ve got one of these coming to try out- I am excited as I am currently in the middle of a health kick. Although the pizza and chocolate I consumed yesterday might not agree with me. 😉 x

  20. Haha Me too, started back running and trying to be healthy. But I consumed enough chocolate yesterday to kill a few people. Oops. lol You will love this. I make all sort of concoctions. 😉

  21. This is ace, I want one!! i’m not a fan of plain water but i’m trying to drink more at the moment

  22. Best of luck to win one. At 14.99 it’s even worth just grabbing one up. They deliver super quick. I am loving mine and all the various water flavored recipes to try too. It’s really helping me drink more water.

  23. What a great idea! I am not a fan of plain water, but I know I should drink more of it – this would definitely encourage me to drink more. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested

  24. Thanks Kate that was my thoughts exactly. I will be honest it truly has helped me. I just hope I still with it all summer. 😉

  25. It is great quality and so far it has helped me with drinking more as I hate water but this is like drinking really healthy juice instead. Its fantastic.

  26. I know how you feel – I want to drink more water but it’s just plain and boring, especially when it’s warm from being in your handbag all day #sharefriday

  27. Exactly! But this has really helped me with all that. I load it with ice to keep it cold most of the day and the flavors are so yummy. Makes me drink a lot more now. You must try one. Best of luck to win!

  28. about 10 years ago I was at an ideal home exhibition and saw a water bottle with a filter, I mentioned to the seller that it would be great to have one where you could put fruit in it or a lemon as its very healthy… now you can!! just it was me that had invented it!.. its a great thing as I just love lemon water

  29. That’s great, sorry you didn’t invent it. i have done that a few times said this would be handy or cool to have and a few years later. haha I never thought I would like lime in it either but I am loving all the various combinations.

  30. I love this, it looks great. I’ve just given up drinking cola because I was a tad addicted (bad I know), I’ve yet to find a suitable replacement though, water is too bland and it gets expensive to be buying fruit juices all the time, this looks like the perfect compromise.

  31. I think this looks fantastic! Great for kids too if you want them to enjoy something other than plain water but don’t want them pumped full of sugar from squashes or fruit juices.

  32. I think this is great. I love lime and soda water and fresh limes are so much better for you than cordial (obviously).

  33. Yes cordial can hold a lot of sugar and this is all natural and water. you can’t beat water. I just never liked plain water so this really helps me drink more.

  34. Such a great idea – certainly makes water more interesting! I love flavoured water, but rarely make my own – I reckon I’d go for a lemon and mint combo first!

  35. I love the idea of this product, adds a twist to my daily water consumption-thank you for bringing it to my attention x

  36. I think it’s fantastic! I always add lemon to my water bottles and then have to fish them out of the bottom. This is great!

  37. This is pure genius, never seem anything like this before. I’ve sliced fruit and left it in a jug of water for for a while. But this is so quick and easy and kinda fun too by the looks of things!

  38. Oh wow, there’s literally something out there for whatever you need! I love lemon infused water! x
