Another week has come and gone and while February went so slow March is making up for it by flying at the speed of light. I truly believe this is the start of this year going by in a flash with some many upcoming plans. My momma will be here so very soon which is huge. She hasn’t been here since MM was born so I truly can’t wait.
It’s been a busy week of laundry with two sick babies but there was still time to love a few things too. Here is my #littleloves.
Over the weekend I had so R&R time to read a real book. Yes, finally got my hands on one thanks to your beautiful host Morgana. I am half way through but it’s a witty and delightful read. Highly recommend it for chic lit lovers.
Breathing… or lack there of. I know that’s a cop out for this week but with croup it’s all about listening to their breathing. I can’t count the number of times I ran from both kids bedrooms this week with a drink of water, an inhaler, and calpol in my hand to make sure they were ok and breathing safely. We even had a trip to the emergency doctors for my son croup is asthma’s nemesis. It wasn’t something I expected to come home to from a long weekend with the girls. Talk about the guilt I felt on a high from my spa weekend to driving home on the last day like a mad woman worried about them being so ill without me there to cuddle and tell them it would be ok. We are hearing clearer breathing now and hopefully on the mend.
The funniest video I have made thus far in my vlogging short life but it happens to be with the best crew so that always helps. A little game of “Who Is Most Likely To…” Come learn all our corks, secrets, and admissions from Butwhymummy, DearBeautiful, Katie Ellison and myself.
I have long loved the t-bar type shoes for Missy Moo’s little feet. There is something so cute and adorable about them. She has had a few pairs in the past that have lasted her ages. I was ever so excited to team up with Charles Clinkard and test out these plus pink t-bar Startrite shoes.
I was impressed with the quality of the shoe, its padded soles for comfort, and the buckle was easy to open and close. I think though Missy Moo was the one that was truly impressed. She wouldn’t stop looking and pointing at her new shoes everywhere we went. “Shoes” she shouted in the Starbucks line. “Shoes” she shouted in the grocery store. I almost regretted testing them out on errand day. To say she loved them is an understatement.
She has worn them nonstop this week. They definitely have become her go to shoe for days out and errand running. I love the detail on the toe and it also allows her little feet to breath. She may be a princess but kids get sweaty feet let’s admit that and it makes them perfect for Spring / Summer time. She still has a little room to grow so they will be perfect for our upcoming trip to France and Spain.
I haven’t been in the kitchen much this week. It was more of a catch up and dealing with two little ones who had croup and very bad colds. I think I may have slept one night out of the entire week without getting up and going into one of them. It was tough. But I did get a chance to create these awesome Pop Book photobooks using a new app. I am not just raving about it as I already did that in my official review but I am lazy and don’t have time to sit and design photobooks and was so impressed with how fast I did these two books. I love the idea that I can print mini photo albums each month of my favorite instagram photos or iphone captures and at such a cheap price it’s worth it. Then I will have a whole collection at the end of the year both of the kids and my food styling to pour over. (pst.. click the review link to enter the giveaway.. five lucky winners).
I have talked about how blogging has changed my life and making friends online before but this past weekend really was something more for me than just that. I went on my very first girlie spa weekend away from the kids with three other ‘real life” blogger friends. Living as an expat in England hasn’t always been the easiest and since having babies it only made it that much harder being so far from family. After eight years I have made a handful of friends, but blogging has brought me a group of ladies that not only get the family life, the everyday life but get the blogging life too. That is rare. They get, understand, and experience all the same aspects of life that I do and we share so much in common between the four of us, it is the best feeling in the world being around them. We motivate each other. We inspire each other. We make each other laugh uncontrollably (just see video above). I have never felt that in a group of ladies. I truly can say this past weekend felt so great to let my hair down and have a break from work, the house, kids and people depending on me. I got to stay up late, eat bad (good) food, have a drink (or few) and do what I wanted, when I wanted. I can’t thank the girls enough for everything. I never thought starting my blog would go further than documenting my family memories! They have made being in England a whole different experience now. Friendships in life are so important. I say, “good friends are rare gems, treat them like one!”
Linking up with lovely Butwhymummywhy for #littleloves
*we were sent these startrite shoes but all opinions are my own.
Hahaha. That video just makes me giggle along, what a bunch of plonkers!!! It was such a lovely weekend away and so nice to all chill and bond and generally have a lovely time together. x
Plonkers just made me snort in my coffee. Yes we are definitely that and much more when we get together. Hahahah best weekend ever.

Ah looks like ye had a great weekend!! The perfect girly getaway! Loved the vlog, I smiled from start to finish!!
I get the stressful week you have had with the kiddies being sick, we seem to have had sickness in our house in one shape or another for the last month! Fingers crossed it’s gone and we can all get back to normal!!
Love the shoes- we love t-bar shoes too xx
Aw Jenny that last bit almost brought a tear to my eye! I’m so pleased that you’ve found such great friends through blogging when you are so far from your family home where you grew up. I absolutely adore the shoes!! And frankly a bit jealous because I don’t have a little girl to buy some T-bar shoes for – you’re right they are ever so cute. Having said that, the boys have some lovely t-bar ‘Doodles’ to choose from in Clarks. Glad to hear the kids are recovering from their croup – I can imagine that must be really quite a terrifying thing to experience in your children as a parent. Hope you have another great weekend hon Xx #littleloves
Oh yes croup is definitely scary and each time it never gets easier. I always panic. The shoes are lovely. We really love them. Clarks are good too. Yes I am very grateful to know each one of them.
Ahhh Jenny, do you know what, this has helped reaffirm a feeling I’ve had for a while, which is that through all of the drama and worry about stats and who’s doing what and why, the main thing to have come out of blogging, for me, is friendship and it’s so amazing that a hobby can bring together women from all over the UK like this. I’m so glad I met you at Britmums last year and have got to know you over the last few months. You’re a fab lady xxx
Thanks Alison. Your beautiful comment just made my whole week. I couldn’t agree more for it. Putting all that craziness aside it has really made england a home for me in so many ways. I am so Honored to have met you too darling and I hope to see you again real soon. Thanks for your kind words.

Having moved around a fair bit myself I understand how you feel about your friends. I would probably be blubbering if it were not for the fact I’m getting my own girly weekend starting later today! The video was hilarious! I love MM’s shoes, I really need to get some new ones for Aaron – they grow so fast at this stage!
Yes they really do. I am constantly buying some clothes and shoes for my two for sure. Enjoy your girlie time away too.
Morgana @ butwhymummywhy says
Love those shoes! E had them last summer but white patent ones and I nearly cried when she grew out of them. MM looks adorable in her baby pink ones..
I had the best weekend with you lot, I can’t remember a time when I last laughed so much. Love every second of it xxx
Me too hunny. I think my cheeks still hurt from laughing so hard. It means we just have to do it again! lol Always great to let our hair down together. Coffee catch up soon. 🙂
What a lovely post. The friendships that come out of blogging are amazing aren’t they?
I love the startrite shoes. They are so pretty and practical. So many shoes for little girls are slip ons and once they run around they come flying off.
I hope the children have recovered from their croup and you can all have a restful weekend together x
Thanks yes kids on the mend. Thankfully. I was a blubbering mess at first so scary. Friendships through blogging are amazing because you can share so much in common. I love a good t bar shoe for that reason alone. Lol

Looks like you had so much fun! Typical to come home from such a great weekend to find two sick kids waiting for you, my little one gets croup and it’s horrible seeing them so ill, glad your two are on the mend. Love MM’s shoes, they’re adorable – I miss baby girl shoes and clothes (mine’s 13 now). It’s lovely that blogging has led you to friends that have made being in the UK that much better, as a fellow expat I totally get what it’s like being away from family and old friends. Have a lovely weekend x
Thanks hunny it’s hard as an expat but when you start making friends and new memories it gets easier. 13. Don’t they grow so fast?

Your wee video is the cutest! So lovely that you four have become such good pals. You are all such lovely girls so I’m not at all surprised! Oh, MM’s little shoes are adorable! Love them! And so sorry to hear they’ve been ill. Croup sounds horrendous. Really frightening I’m sure! I hope this weekend sees them a bit better luvvie. Xxx
Thanks darling. Croup is the scariest thing ever. I hate it and haven’t slept much. But they seem better now. Thanks I am so lucky to have become great friends with them. They are amazing and inspiring. Only wish you lived closer darling. Hahaha I know we would hit it off after having met you. Your so sweet. Glad you liked the video. We had fun making it.
Lovely post Jenny! the video cracks me up! i’d love to meet you all one day, you seem like such a lovely bunch! those photo books are fab, I love making them too. I’m really trying to make more time for myself to read more, this book looks great xx
Thanks Natalie. We really did have a blast making it for sure. They are all amazing ladies. I always am saying I need to make more time for myself and reading but then don’t. Lol

Oh no, poor wee toots! Hope they feel much better soon. We have been a house full of winter bugs this week so no #littleloves from me.
Your video from your trip to Center Parcs is hilarious and definitely brightened up my week. I love MM’s shoes. Startrite traditional little girl shoes are the best aren’t they? I have my eye on a pair of white ones for when Charlotte is walking. Hope you all have a lovely weekend xx
I had my eye on the White ones too but so afraid they would be black in no time. I think now though I would love them too. Hahahah can’t beat a good t bar shoe. Yes seems like the season to get ill when the weather is changing. Hoping we break through it by next week as our calendars are full up.
I love the pink shoes but also the whole pink outfit. i am sorry your sweetheart were sick.. It breaks my heart when my daughter is sick. I hope you have a fun weekend,
Thanks Christina I hope you have a great weekend too lovely. It is tough but they are on the mend.

That’s so lovely that you have found such lovely friendships; looks like you all had such a great weekend away together. I would love to make some special friendships through blogging xx
Those shoes are adorable! You and, Morgana, Lucy and Katie have such an incredible friendship and look like such a laugh too! I dream of one day having close friends just like that – you are the perfect bunch and I love reading about your adventures x
I’m sorry your little ones have been poorly! There’s nothing worse that when you lie awake at night, completely paranoid that they’ll wake up coughing! So glad to hear that you had such a lovely weekend. xx
Oh that video cracks me up! I’m so glad you all had such a lovely weekend, it looks like it was a blast! And I hope the little ones are much better now, it’s so hard to watch them and not be able to wave a magic wand and make it all better.
Yes thanks Carie they are doing much better. Video was fun to make. Hard to edit all the laughter out. We were in fits of giggles.

Great little loves despite the croup and colds. Croup is awful, I remember G having it and needing a mask to help with his breathing. I hope they are both fighting fit now. Your video is hilarious. I love how you had to keep reigning the girls in. Love Missy’s shoes. Have you seen the red ones Little Bird do from Mothercare? They’re so cute. #LittleLoves x
Oh yes mom of the group trying to keep them all on track. Hahahaha it was funny. Croup is awful. We have a mask too but they are much better. Thank you.
Not A Frumpy Mum says
I watched the video on Morgana’s #LittleLoves and you can’t help smile watching it. It looks like you all had so much fun!
I love Missy Moo’s shoes, I’m a bit of a sucker for the T-Bar shoes and O has had a pair for the past couple of years for Spring/Summer (although we didn’t go for a pink option)
I hope the kids are feeling better and looking forward to seeing you again next week! xx
Thank you darling for watching and the lovely comment. I am a huge t bar shoe fan too. So cute.
Esther @ Inside Out and About says
My first son suffered with his chest terribly until he was about too. It was awful, so I totally feel for your. Inhalers, calpol and the no sleep. I hope full health is restored soon. I LOVE those t-bar shoes. I loved the video! Such fun! xx
Thanks Esther. Oh yes you know then. Bless. Thanks hunny.
Those startrite shoes are so adorable and Missy Moo models them well! I love love love the video and was laughing away with you all! Sounds like you all had an amazing time and I am very jealous! Croup is awful isn’t it? H tends to suffer pretty bad with it when he gets it and its such a nasty cough! Hope they are both on the mend now xx
Oh no sad you ever have to deal with croup too. It’s horrendous. So scary too. Thanks hunny I think MM loved modeling them too. A model in the making. Hahaha
Katie @mummydaddyme says
Ah it made me a little emotional reading this Jenny- I am so pleased I met you via blogging and that i can now count you as one of my real life friends too- you truly are one of kind, so sweet and genuine, and I feel lucky to have you in my life. That video still makes me cringe- eeeeek! You did such a good job editing it though! Missy Moo’s little shoes are the cutest! xx
Thanks hunny. Your post did the same to me. I am so grateful for you in my life. You are too kind with a heart of gold babes. That video makes me spit with laughter. Editing too some time I should show out takes though. So funny. Lol
Looks like you had a fantastic weekend – don’t feel guilt (although I know its easier said than done) I think because of your fun relaxed weekend it may have helped with the getting up in the night to check on the kids 🙂
Hope they are better soon!
Thanks hun so true easier said than done indeed. Well I wish my lack of sleep thought so because while we were relaxed we stayed up far too late every night chatting like girls do! lol Felt great though!
Charlotte @ Educating Elsa says
Ahh those shoes are amazing! I love proper little old fashioned shoes on toddlers, I might have to get Elsa a pair.
Such a shame they’ve been poorly. I hope everyone is on the mend now,
On the mend and we are excited that gramma is here from the states tomorrow. Hurray. I love vintage style shoes on her too. So cute.
