The Easter holidays have started for us today! Hooray! It seems like everyone else got out of school last week and it’s been a long week waiting for us to join them. But also gave me time to see what everyone has been up to for the half term off for some ideas for us too. We are off to Ireland for one week of our two weeks off. Each year, we go to see Mr P’s side of the family for Easter and a good catch up. I love it over there. I only wish I had better sea legs. I get so sick on the ferry every time. Luckily the kids and Daddy are fine so they run around having a blast while I sit with my head in my lap until we dock.

It’s been a rush of the week getting things ready for our trip. Packing, cleaning, organizing plans when we get there with everyone. It also was a mad week for B and MM at school and preschool with all the Easter celebrations. We have had this week: Easter bingo, Fairtrade Charity event, bring Easter Chocolate Egg in, Decoration an Easter Egg contest and two nonuniform days. Phew, and MM’s preschool did similar events each day. It’s been a struggle to remember who needed what on which day.

However the week has gone and it’s time to contribute to the little things I have loved this week. I hope you all have a great weekend ahead and if you are off, have been off or about to be off for the Easter holidays – ENJOY!

I have read a lot lately but Leigh Bardvgo books are huge. I finished Six of Crows and can HIGHLY recommend it. It’s such an adventure, page turner. It references a lot of character from The Grisha Trilogy I read a few months ago but you don’t need to read that series to know what’s going on in this story as it’s completely separate. I would say though just as good. I just started the second of this series Crooked Kingdom. It’s a massive read but I am still loving every page of it. I haven’t had as much time as I would like to finish it before the Easter holidays so I think the second book might have to come with me to Ireland.

The kids are loving their Easter reading corner. Each season we like to do their reading corner to reflect the holidays and seasons we are in at the moment. We Going on an Egg Hunt is MM’s new favorite story for bedtime. Check out my instagram for our entire Easter reading corner collection.Raspberry Gin, Pink decor and a Name Necklace #littleloves

I know you have heard of GIN but what about flavored gin! Everyone’s favorite drink it would seem. However, I have tried it once before a few years ago with a friend and gin and tonic just wasn’t for me. I am a fruity kind of drink drinker. A gin bar just opened up a few feet from our house and we wanted to check it out. I was determined to find a gin I did like. The bartender hit it on the head with raspberry gin. It’s my new favorite and goes with a lot of different mixers too. Who knew I could love gin too!

Have you watched my dressing table tour? I needed more space and more storage and this one did the trick along with some fab drawer storage solutions too. Let me know what you think!

It’s all about spring, no coats and a new charm necklace that I can’t stop wearing. It has hubby and both kids’ names engraved along with the word family on another charm, a pearl, and a charm of a family tree symbol on it. I got it for Mother’s Day but I see so many popping up on instagram with amazing personalized necklaces too from My Name Necklace. You can catch a close up of it on my instagram and don’t forget to use my discount code Jenny15 for 15% off!

I finally finished all the last decorating touches on my back room that faces our garden. I love the new pale pink walls, the hints of greenery here and there with fresh flowers and the mixed of copper and silver. Mixed Metallics are so fab together. It’s turned into my favorite room to sit in and read, work, stare out the window with a hot cuppa.

It’s time for #LIFECLOSEUP my hashtag community over on instagram. Can you believe we are almost at 60 K tags. I can’t believe how many are joining in. I am trying my very best to keep up liking every single photo. If you haven’t already come join in sharing your zoomed in captures of life.  I share my favorites here every Friday and on my IG feed every Sunday! You could be featured too.  This week, I went with slogan theme as it seems to be popping up in the community a lot with the kiddos as much as the adults. What are your clothes saying???

    • I have been known to use the full 24 hours of every day. hahaha I am great at time management these days. I have lists, schedules and routines for everything to make sure I accomplished it all in my time frames. Sounds crazy but after having two kids and them starting preschool and school even though I had more to do I was better with time management because I had to do everything around them all the sudden. It makes you get things done! I promise. There is no more well I will just do that in a bit or tomorrow, no because tomorrow you will have other stuff to get done. You will find your routine and it will be easy. Just sounds like a lot when you haven’t done it yet.

  1. How do you find so much time to read? I really struggle- I’m pretty sure I suck at time management! How exciting a week in Ireland to look forward to. Your interiors are always so stylish-beautiful the metallics really work together and fresh flowers always look gorgeous. Welcome to the Easter Holidays and I hope you have a great time x

    • I stay up really late each night. hahaha I have an evening routine of putting the kids to bed, working for two hours, watching one episode of Netflix with Hubby and then both of us read late into the night after that. We are excited for our trip to Ireland love seeing family at Easter time. The kids all love seeing all their second cousins their age too.

    • Oh yes, I know what you mean. I just don’t look out the window or look at anything but the ground. I can’t even read on them. This time it was a lot smoother but if there is a storm I am so ill. 🙁 It’s worth it every time though. Love coming to Ireland to see family.

  3. I love the look of your new room Jenny, the colours are just gorgeous – love pink and green together. Gin is a favourite here too but I’ve not tried a flavoured one. Are they quite sweet? Hope you have a good trip but I’m with you on the ferry making you sick – I’m so much the same! Hate it 🙁 xx

    • Thank you. I love pink and green together too. I am just looking for some nice fake ivy for the corner I think or a hanging plant. Oh I am not a fan of normal gin but flavoured ones got me now. I don’t think they are sweet unless you do what I did put it with sweet juice. Wish I had sea legs but I just don’t. I just write it off as the bad part of the trip and the rest is amazing. lol

    • Until now, I thought I hated gin completely. I am converted but only to the fruity flavoured gins. lol It’s a cheap dressing table from Ikea but looks so nice. I know so many that have bought it. Do you will feel so organized for it too.

  5. Sounds like you’ve had a ridiculously busy week again! Loving the sound of that gin, I’m not a gin fan really, but that one sounds really nice with the summery fruity flavours in it. Hope you’re all having a lovely time in Ireland x

    • It always seems the way these days. Week starts off slow and soon gets jam packed up! lol I am not a gin fan either I think I just didn’t know how to order the right gin with the right mixer too. It’s lovely.

  6. That room looks so pretty – love the pale pink! Hope the ferry crossing wasn’t too bad (I’m not a fan of them either) and that you’re enjoying your week over in Ireland. My hubby’s parents are moving there in a couple of years so we will be making the trip over occasionally as well! #LittleLoves
