Letters to him & her ~ #19/#20

letters to my childrenhim

B, this week you are a mini version of your big Uncle Russ. I always thought you resembled him in the way you stand or talk and a little in your looks but nothing prepared me for when Uncle Russ stood next to you and I could really see just how similar you both are to each other. It blows my mind watching you both together. I love that you instantly bonded with him and put him so high up on a pedal stool already. You are dying for him to let you wear his hat each day and teach you baseball. There is nothing sweeter than watching you bond with him. I love that you have more than just Daddy as a male role model in your life. I hope you grow up to be close to your uncles as I am mine. That’s one of the beauties of having a big family and so many to help support, love, and guide you on your journey of life.

MM, this week you got taller, bigger, and have grown over night into this little girl. I feel like you never were really a baby long. You are a true outdoor kind of girl just like your cousins. It’s funny how much you resemble me when I was little but also how much you are like your cousin too. Uncle Russ keep saying how much you are like his daughter and how much B is like his son. While I look at you both together and think of me and Uncle Russ growing up, he sees you both similar to his own kids who are older now. You have always taken your time to get to know people and let them in but with Uncle Russ you didn’t take a minute. You were in his arms, climbing all over and pulling him around the house in no time at all. Even on the first day I had to pry you from his arms for your nap as you wanted to keep playing. Its something in our family genes that make us immediately feel so close to each other, I swear. I love that our extended family is so close so that you kids can be close to all your extended family like I am to Grandma’s family. You love with all your heart when it comes to family. You are talking more this week and wanting to have full conversations with everyone even if it comes out like straight gibberish. Your voice is changing too. It no longer has that baby squeak. You are catching up with your brother in so many ways. I love as you both get older the age gap seems to be smaller. You keep up with him or even surpass him on great adventures out

  1. Fabulous pics of them on the beach. MM looks really cheeky looking at the camera there. It’s great when they’re close to wider family. Just the same as N with his on both sides too.
