Pit & Peak of the Week #27

Last updated on March 4th, 2024 at 08:19 pm

It was the BIG BASH DAY, today, where we celebrated Missy Moo’s 1st birthday and christening with all our closest friends and family. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ring in such a huge milestone and special moment in her life, if I tried. Everything went smoothly and the kids were perfect angels. I actually thought at one point that someone might have stolen both of my children, well the toddler at least, and swopped with a sweet loving one. He was cuddling & kisses us all and playing so nicely with the other kids.

My decorations were a big hit. There were a few small hiccups, like clumsy me breaking the number one off the cake, two seconds after I picked it up. I hadn’t even taken a photo yet. Or the venue, which was stunning, but too dark to take a lot of photos of the party as it was the hottest, sunniest day we have had in a long time, the light was beaming from the outside. Everyone was boiling in their suits and it was the first time I thought, it’s good to be a girl in a dress, for once the men had the crappy end of the stick.

If this is your first time at L.T.M., welcome, Pit & Peak of the Week is a therapeutic way for me to rave about my high and vent about my low from the past week. I love to reflect back on a Sunday evening, before I go to bed, and share with everyone what we have been getting up to as a family.

Pit: Time is my pit this week.  I wish I had more time, to do all the other things I wanted to do this week. I know I am constantly saying it, but my to do list seems to go on forever with no end in sight. The problem with me is I just turned 30 and there is so many things I want to be accomplishing and I am afraid if I don’t do them now, I will never get the chance to do them. So even though I am a mother of two, my bucket list is shining bright in front of my face, screaming you are getting old, what have you done with your life? lol I know that’s silly but that’s what drives me to keep up my spanish class even though I have no time, and teach myself to sew and be crafty in the middle of the night, or practice my cooking while the kids take their naps during the day. Those are just a few of the things on my bucket list that I am striving to achieve along side being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a housekeeper, a blogger, and be me.

Peak: Obviously the highest, high of this week is Missy Moo’s 1st birthday and christening. Nothing would beat that. It was the first day she has gone without a nap and she was amazing. Not once did she get cranky or fussy. She was full of smiles and happiness just as she always is. I am so blessed to have such a happy baby all the time. She truly fills my heart with so much joy. It was even more precious to watch Buba kissing her as she was getting baptize and holding her hand in the car on the way there. Watching them with the other kids today at the party and how nice they play with others, made me so proud. So while the party was an amazing time, the best part was being so very proud that my two kids are my two kids. I couldn’t stop hugging and kissing them. It was great to show them off to a lot of our friends that haven’t even met Missy Moo yet or seen Buba since he was little. Nothing is better than a big gathering of friends and family to show off the ones I love. Mr P even looked his best.

And as a bonus peak this week, we finished our garden finally, just in time for a hot lovely weekend. Saturday we all played in the paddling pools out back and enjoyed the flowers before us. It was truly beautiful and a nice calm way to spend our weekend together as a family. I just need to get some outdoor living furniture and accessories and it will be complete.

It truly has been a busy but amazing week! I wish I could say next week looks slower but it’s not. We have something on almost every single day until we leave for America for two months. The closer it gets, the sadder I am about leaving Mr P that long, although I am sure he will just be golfing everyday until he joins us in the states. But I am looking forward to see my family, my friends, and my culture!

  1. Oh gosh what a perfect peak and a wonderful way to celebrate with both family and friends. As for your pit, trust me at 35 and two babes my bucket list is getting longer and has been slightly adapted…i think it is now a family bucket list as opposed to a personal one lol x

    • I love the idea of a family bucket list although the ocd perfectionist in me might make it even more pressure as I would still have to do all mine and theirs. hahaha I will leave that maybe for 35 lol hahaha Great idea though love it. Yes it was amazing and I will be bloggin about it properly when I get all the photos editted and ready. Stay tuned.

  2. Aw! Looks like you had a fabulous celebration Jenny! All that hard work paid off. I know what you mean about finding the time though – I am more of a tendency to forget about all the things I want to pursue until its too late – the list I made in January is hardly dented!! I think the most important thing though is to enjoy what you do and don’t pile the pressure on yourself to do too much because, unless of course you thrive on pressure, it will end up feeling like a chore – even the good bits! Its also fab when the kids start becoming really obviously loving of each other isn’t it? I think you will find that now MM is turning one and turning from a baby into a toddler their relationship will bloom even more! 🙂

    • I hope you are right Sam, it will be interesting having a 1 yo and a 3 yo now!! lol They grow up so fast. Yes the celebrations were amazing and I will be blogging all about it soon. stay tuned.

  3. Sounds like you had a wonderful day, lovely to see all the hard work you did paying off. Time is such an issue isn’t it? When I was working I seemed to be so much more on top of everything, now I’m always running to catch up… And, I’m 40 and am no where near where I want to be on my bucket list! But, you know what, I’m less bothered about it now, we have a good, happy life and I have to try and remember that. Having said that, our impending house move is hopefully going to give me the space I need to start doing a little bit more ‘creative’ stuff for me, and that will make me happy 🙂

    • I probably should think more like you….. would be less stressed. I need so much more space for the creative stuff I want to do, I am thinking of taking over the garage, but it’s a dirty pit of dirt tools and gardening stuff. I might have to steal a bedroom and bunk the kids up instead. hahaha jokes.

  4. I love the idea of the pit and peak of the week. I think the pit of my week is always the things I never get the chance to do! Lovely photo from the birthday/christening it sounds like you had a great time.x #MMWBH

    • We had a fab time thank you so much. Yes I love my pit & peak of the week, even if no one hardly ever reads it and it’s probably my least popular post but for me it’s a great way to share my week at the end of it and record what we got up to and my highs and lows of it.

  5. Awww your son looks a lot like his Dad =)
