Pregnancy: 15 Weeks Bump Watch

Last updated on March 4th, 2024 at 10:12 pm

This week is a very exciting week for us as a family, we are finding out the gender of our baby tomorrow with a private scan. I have had a private gender reveal scan with all my children. Mostly too impatient and excited to wait for the 20 weeks and mostly because I like to get organized with nursery, clothes, and most importantly names. Do you find it hard to pick baby names? I do! If anything it’s the one thing that takes the longest and most thought out process for my husband and I, as we agree on NOTHING when it comes to names for boys or girls. I need that extra 4 weeks to get a jump start on making list of names and begging husband to reason with one of them. If you have any baby names please comment below or when you see our gender reveal shout them out for us. We need all the help we can get this time around. We have agreed already on one boy name and one girl name and lucky for us we had one boy and one girl but third time around is going to be tricky as I want vowel names as both my kids have vowel names to start. My last name also proves a problem with some of my favorite names that won’t be used.

I am still feeling sick and nausea and my appetite has turned the other direction. I am having to force myself at least some crackers and toast for dinner at night but I just can’t bring myself some nights to eat anything. Other than that I have more energy now, the exhaustion of needing to go to bed at 7/8pm is gone, finally. I don’t feel swollen and frumpy, just pregnant now. I think people have stopped giving me that suspicious look is she or isn’t she pregnant? They are now brave enough to ask about my bump.

I am back in the gym with body pump, don’t worry I have taken my weights to a lower weight for the first few to get back into the swing of things. I think getting back in the gym has made me feel better and look better for it already. I have been going three times a week for past two weeks may it continue until birth as I did with my other two pregnancies. I am doing a lot of yoga and pilates too.  I think this is the biggest reason my bump size hasn’t grown in the last three weeks, it’s stabilized. I was slightly worried at the rate it popped and was growing at first that I would be the size of a house when May rolled around. But happily it’s calming down and back to where I was with my other two pregnancies at 15 weeks.

It’s such a beautiful and amazing journey to be pregnant again. Even though I have been feeling so emotional this week for no apparent reason, I love being pregnant. Our bodies are miracles and I never thought I would be pregnant again. This is truly a miracle third baby and I am so excited to add to our family another child. I feel more giddy this time over this baby. I think because I know it’s my last so I can really appreciate everything from bump to baby. We decided not to have anymore babies after I had MM so I didn’t get that same closer with each milestone when I was pregnant with her, but now I get that opportunity and I won’t let it pass me by without documenting, capturing, remembering every little detail from first flutters, watch my bump grow, to the birth and everything that comes after that with baby milestones. Our last third precious little baby I will be able to enjoy and say goodbye to each milestone as it comes.

BABY IS THE SIZE OF A ORANGE AT 10.2 CM AND WEIGHING 71 GRAMS. BABY’S PROPORTIONS ARE NOW BECOMING NORMAL WITH LEGS LONGER THAN ARMS.

FUN FACT: BABY WILL START HICCUPING THIS WEEK.

I HAVE BEEN REALLY EMOTIONAL THIS WEEK.

This week the number one question everyone is asking me: Can I see your bump?

Everyone at the school playground is desperate to see my bump since it’s winter out and freezing lately I have been wrapped up in big winter coats and scarves and hats so many haven’t seen my bump except on my instagram. They have now started asking me to open my coat and show them. My bump has been funny lately waking up it’s not really sticking out but come bedtime after a whole day of eating it’s definitely out there so sadly I have been disappointing the mums at the school gates in the morning. It won’t be long before it’s there morning and night.

CRAVINGS:

All my cravings are gone. My appetite too. I haven’t been hungry at all and still feeling slightly nauseous and sick during the afternoons and evenings. Dinner has been missed a few nights this week because the thought just makes me want to puke but I found nibbling crackers and smaller plain foods like toast or dry cereal before bed to help.

What funny things did you crave when you were pregnant?

If you are pregnant now or just had a baby don’t forget I run a blog linky on Thursdays to link up all posts relating to pregnancy, bump, maternity, baby gear, products and baby milestones up to a year. I would love you to join our lovely group sharing our baby journey together. You can see last weeks here to give you an idea! Come join me!

  1. I didn’t know you could have private scans earlier than 20 weeks to find out the gender. So tempting! We’re planning on finding out too. So much easier I think with your 3rd and like you I didn’t think the third baby was going to happen so a wonderful surprise. My tiredness has really improved, my nausea too – except the dreaded gagging when I brush my teeth – I look forward to sharing our 3rd baby journies together 🙂

    • Oh yes, I did it with all three of my pregnancies. Some are as early as 15 weeks finding out. It’s super cheap and a million places do them too. I like to get going on names, organisation, baby clothes etc. I hate brushing my teeth too. It’s awful isn’t it? So glad to hear you are doing well. So awesome to share this journey together, then the baby milestones afterwards too.

  2. Totally agree that choosing and agreeing names is sooooo hard! You know when you finally find the perfect one.
I went through a phase of only eating cereal and toast for dinner, hope you feel less nauseous soon!
Looking forward to your gender reveal, how exciting! #bumpsbabies
