I am feeling great this week. At 19 weeks + 4 days I am also a little late sharing my pregnancy update as it was Christmas and then Boxing Day is my birthday. I left it to relax with family and be lazy around the house which is probably why I feel so good. Rest really is the magical thing. I hope I get to stock up on sleep as I don’t think this baby likes it all that much bouncing around at night and rolling around in my belly. I can feel him moving constantly now which is always a reassuring feeling.

My bump hasn’t grown much last two weeks but the rest of me is growing around it. But I feel ok about it now, it’s always a shock to the system when your body starts changing at a rapid rate before your eyes. A healthy momma is a healthy baby so I keep that in mind. I can always lose it afterwards. However, my number one pet peeve is people telling me how big I am getting or how “pregnant” my face is now. Do they think I don’t look in a mirror. I know I have the pregnancy face as my gym instructors kindly told me one day. They mean well, but hormones get the best of me at these times and I rather what to tell them where to go. I don’t of course, I laugh, nod and agree. The truth hurts sometimes.

It’s been a quiet Christmas and a quiet birthday for us this year. We have spent many nights in under a duvet watching a movie together. The kids have been talking to my baby bump and helping us try on names for little dude. I love watching them bond with my belly and really want to be involved every step of the way. We talk about how big he is now, what is developing and the size of baby each week when I write these updates. They are as much apart of this baby journey I am sharing with you on here.

BABY IS THE SIZE OF A MANGO AT 15.2 CM AND WEIGHING 241 GRAMS. BABY’S BRAIN IS DEVELOPING NERVE CELLS OF SENSES OF TASTE, HEARING, SIGHT AND SMELL.

FUN FACT: BABY HAS BEEN ROLLING AROUND IN MY BELLY A LOT THIS WEEK.

This week the number one question everyone is asking me: DO YOU HAVE A NAME? The answer is… no! We have everyone giving their opinion and we can’t agree ourselves on anything yet. Good thing we found out early as we need the extra time to search.

CRAVINGS & CHANGES:

I am finding lots of changes to the body at this stage. It’s widening of course too. I am not that exhausted tired that I was in the beginning and feeling more glowing than frumpy finally. Even if I look more frumpy than glowing. Cravings are at a minimum which I am relieved as I feel now I don’t have the room to eat a lot without suffering heartburn and stomach pain. Small snacks are better received. Probably due to all the xmas dinners and birthday dinners I have been consuming, my stomach has had enough.

I am looking forward to next week at my 20 week scan even if I already know it’s a boy, it’s great to get reassurance that everything is ok and well with baby. I have had some scary moments this week that have needed these reassurances. I hope it’s the last of the many scares we have had with this pregnancy.

The new year is ahead of us, and I can’t wait to meet little one come spring.

    • I know I don’t either and touching me. I am alright with people I know rubbing my belly but it’s really weird when people in the store just reach out and stroke it. Talk about invading of space. lol

  1. My little one now shares a birthday with you! He arrived 8 days early on Boxing Day. He still doesn’t have a name and he’s here! I think you’re looking great lovely but it’s so hard to have people commenting on your appearance all of the time isn’t it. They wouldn’t dream of it when you’re not pregnant x #LittleLoves

    • Oh hooray birthday sharing although it’s not the easiest when you want to have birthday parties but how exciting baby has arrived. All well both of you too???? I am so so happy for you. I can’t wait for this one to arrive and we still can’t agree on names I am sure it will be no name Taylor forever. I know no one would say your face is fat to your actual face otherwise would they? So rude…. Happy New Year can’t wait to read all about baby milestones and birth etc to come ahead.

    • Oh thank you Emma, it’s going by so fast I can’t believe it. Over half way now and blurring into home. I remember missing my bump so much with my first two. Like I lost something at first.
