Life is full of them, don’t you think. If this past week has taught me anything it’s definitely that there are so many unexpected things in life that come our way. Sometimes they come in full numbers too. Or it definitely was like that this week. I also have been working hard on where my future is in the blogging world and where I want to take it now. I have a few blog plans up my sleeve that I am working hard at getting up and running before I share them but I promise you, it will be a “tasty” surprise. (hint).
Other than that it’s been a crazy busy week with the kids, school/nursery pick ups/drop offs, soccer/gymnastics classes, swimming lessons, music and playdates. I am trying to fit it all in and not get that overwhelmed feeling or stressed out tone of voice. So far, since I got back from America I have kept that cool, calm, and collected attitude about life. I feel so much better for it. I really hope it stays with me and I can continue to have more patience with the kids and husband, and let the house go dirty a little more, and just live life fuller and happier.
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I have been reading this love Happy Thoughts book, my best friend bought me back home. It’s full of lovely sayings and things that make me happy. I love it because I can pull them out and use them as postcards if I wanted too. Or pin them to my mirror or desk wall board to remind me to be happy.
Is it bad that I still haven’t finished the final chapter of “Pretty Is”? It’s not because I haven’t had the time either, it’s has turned a little boring to be honest. I know that sounds awful because it’s about two girls being abducted. Awful, I know. But they are happy to be gone and they just read and play in a cottage all day. Very weird storyline in my opinion. Other than that I have been enjoying blogs as much as possible and catching up on my commenting. If you know of any great blogs to recommend or books please comment below. I would love to have a new list for both to read come this winter.
Have you “heard” it’s Grandparents Day coming up on October 2nd. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the love and support Grandparents across the globe share with our littles ones and us. They continue to be apart of our lives long after we leave home and take off that amazing role as the kids’ grandparents. Some Grandparents play a vital role in the upbringing of their Grandchildren as well. I have so many fond memories of my own Grandparents while growing up. I love watching my own parents bond with my kids when they are together.
I can imagine it’s a great feeling to become a Grandparent. To look around and know you created the pyramid of extended relatives that fill up that room.
I am still binge watching Vampire Diaries and every time I mention that to someone they look at me like I have two heads. That look that says, you watch that kind of style. While I loved Twilight to the core, I didn’t think I would like vampire diaries. Well, two seasons in and I just want to lie on my sofa with the duvet and binge watch every episode. Then panic that it’s over and wish I would have watched them slower. Typical, when you find a show you like that much you waste it by going through it as fast as possible but it’s almost impossible not to.
A bit grainy, my apologies they are from my ig stories. I forgot to snap ones up on my camera this week but either way it’s the ladies of the house showing off this week. I have pulled out some heels I haven’t seen in about 8 years…but love to wear with jeans while MM is strutting her new yellow boots. (Yes, moms they come in big enough sizes for us too). MM is at that stage where she wants to dress herself, pick out her own clothes, and go shopping. She is a true diva in the making I know I will have my hands full in the future with this one. She is in between sizes where everything looks too big for her but the next size down just is too tight. While I have embraced jeans again and loving the rolled up long sleeve arm style.
I am trying to be a heathier version of myself this year so I have been eating a lot differently which makes a life of a food blogger/stylish very hard. I will admit I haven’t been in the kitchen as much as I would like nor have I been making new recipes up as much as I normally do. Well folks, I am back and I am cooking and baking slightly different to fit my lifestyle better but I still have so many amazing recipes I want to share with you coming up. This week, I made a delicious Coconut Greek Yogurt with Pomegranate Seeds. It’s the perfect indulgence on the weekends in place of ice cream or other unhealthy treats. You still feel like you are getting something really tasty and delicious too. Check it out let me know what your favorite toppings on Greek Yogurt are too?
It’s been another beautiful week over on my hashtag community on instagram. These are this week’s favorite features, do pop over and check them out their feeds are absolutely stunning. I love that not just parents join in but foodies, interiors, travel, fashion and beauty ig snappers too. Everyone is welcome with their zoomed in captures of life. Keep sharing with me, I enjoy getting to know new instagrammers and the community is so supportive of each other and engage with one another. I love it. Thanks for all your instagram support everyone! Keep snapping!

I swear each week gets busier and busier. Sometimes I feel like I am spin in circles but we move through it. Thanks for your lovely comments.
i like to find something they can both enjoy like a hamper, meal voucher or flowers 🙂
I think as long as they are being spoiled and loved, Grandparents love everything.

Thank you so much Donna. The yogurt combination is so delicious. I love jeans and heels it used to be all I wore back home, a very american style I suppose. lol
I only have one Grandparent left and that is my husbands Gran who is gorgeous! She loves flowers and chocolates 🙂
Ahh bless you, I know how you feel, most of mine have passed away when I was a baby too. Nothing better than a bouquet to say I love you. Good luck to win.
Aww it sounds like a very busy week. Your styling shots always make me smile and how cute is MM in that style shot! Congratulations on your award lovely X
She looks far too grown up for my liking at the moment and then the next minute I catch that little baby glimpse in her facial expressions. Thanks lovely you are always full of lovely compliments.
I love MM yellow boots, so adorable. Totally with you on the rolled up sleeve, perfect for Autumn. Gorgeous flowers too. xx
Yes it’s a good go to for in between weather rolled up for warmer days and unrolled for cold days of Fall. I love it. I love MM boots they do come in my size but they mark easy and the toes are already completely black after three days of wearing them I am so sad.
Love that happy thoughts book what a lovely idea and gift! I know what you mean about trying to stay positive-I’ve been struggling with that one at times recently! Grandparents day oooo must have a little think about that one-they really are a godsend! I love your style and wish I could pull off some of your outfits but have such a different body shape. I really have to pay attention to what suits me! Hope you have a lovely weekend x
I think clothing is all about the individual. I don’t and won’t neccessarily wear what’s on trend or out at the moment like now nothing is my style or color. I stick with what works for my body type and my colors I like rather than what the shops say I should be wearing at the minute. I never could do the bell bottom style when everyone was wearing them. I looked ridiculous this short in them. I love my happy thoughts book my best friend knows me all too well. Thanks lovely.
Sounds like a busy but exciting week for you. That happy thoughts book looks fantastic – what a lovely, positive gift. Love the flowers, such beautiful colours. Enjoy your weekend xx
Thank you so much Stacie. I am excited to share more happy thoughts with everyone too throughout the book. Always nice to help motivate each other to be positive. Hope you had a lovely weekend too.
Definitely photo albums full of our favourite memories 🙂
Oh that’s a great gift too. Such a brilliant way for them to keep on cherishing their present long after Grandparents Day.
Homemade presents are always welcomed with delight
Oh yes my kids love making homemade presents for both sets of grandparents. Such a loving way to say you love them.
Oooh your plans sound very exciting, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next! MM’s boots look fabulous, she clearly has a great sense of style 🙂
Thanks Carie I have been standing still too long on it and need to get a bit more time sat down moving it forward. I am excited and nervous for other things I am about to start but that’s the beauty of blogging/vlogging and life it takes you to various places throughout your life. lol
Flowers! I live further away from them than I’d like so love to send flowers by post when I can’t be there xxx
That’s a great idea… I love getting flowers. Always brightens the house up too.
A photo book – did one for my grandparents containing a mix of recent and up to date photos and they absolutely loved it!
Oh that is so sweet what a lovely idea. My parents would love that too.

Or perhaps a day out with family.
My favourite gift for my grandparents is usually flowers, but recently it’s been cuddles with my 1 year old! They love it!
An invitation around to my house with a meal and treats and other members of the family, with Grandparents as the centre of attention!
I always buy a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of wine & a box of chocolates in behalf of my son x

I think a photobook of their grandkids 🙂
