Oh weekend, I do love you so much but lately you have just been too busy for me. Stop that!
We are leading up to the busiest time of the year. I swear it doesn’t stop most of the time during the year but it’s exceptionally busy leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas for us. I have been trying to stay organized with presents as I am done with the kids just need a few bits for grandparents now. I have my Thanksgiving meal all planned out too. I just need a few new dessert creations to pull out of the kitchen next week. But I still feel like I have a mile long to do list. There is so much I want to do and share for the holiday season and just not enough time.
I am still battling a pesky cough/cold that’s literally kicking my butt. It’s made all my vlogs go on hold and making ig stories slightly boring and hard to share because I have no voice or I cough my head off. That being said I am supposed to be in London tomorrow for a friend’s big birthday. I have paid in full for hotels, trains, and deposits on shows and things so I am sucking it up and attempting to go. The way I figure it, I probably will get more rest out with friends shopping and eating then I would at home with two kids parties to attend to, soccer and gymnastic classes, and cooking and cleaning. Instead I shall leave all that with Daddy (who probably will get his mother roped in) and be on my merry way for a girlie weekend in London. Let’s hope the coughing takes a hike overnight and the blue skies we have had come out to play!
THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…
I am still reading Wilde Like Me. It’s an easy read and good but it’s not so juicy you don’t want to put it down. It’s a great book if you like reading only four or five pages here and there in between life’s to dos. I think it will take me awhile to get through it. I have been recommended The Rules of Magic and The Nightingale on instagram anyone read these? Or have any good sci-fantasy books to recommend. I loved the Red Queen series. I think I need to step away from bubble gum chic-lit for my next book.
I have been back to listening to my country music on spotify. I finally got spotify to work on my laptop and I am hooked. I don’t know why I didn’t sit down years ago and figure out why it wouldn’t work but I am loving it. Late to the party as usual.
Did you watch our ig stories over the weekend last week? We were in Skipton, at the beautiful Coniston Hotel and Spa and the views were out of this world beautiful. We explored and did so many amazing experiences we wouldn’t normally do like falconry and 4×4 through the mountains. I can’t wait to share our adventures with you. I enjoyed sharing our two days there on my ig stories, a firm favorite spot on social media for me. So if you don’t tune in to our videos and snaps each day come on over. This was when we took a woodland walk around the lake and a lone swan was setting the scene for us!
I have had no choice but to start using the hairband trick on my skinny jeans already at almost 14 weeks pregnant I am quickly running out of room in my pants, literally. I have been choosing to wear winter sweaters that are either knitted or have zippers like this one, giving me more room to grow. I haven’t ever bought maternity clothes and though I can’t say I won’t this time I am already bigger than I was almost full term with my daughter I might have to invest in some but for me I like to get clothes that I can wear after the birth too. This Primark burgundy sweater is cozy and warm and I will be able to wear it for many more months to come ahead. You can’t beat Primark!
I have some amazing pumpkin recipes coming soon I promise, this cold has me slightly delayed but I will share before the end of the month for Thanksgiving. But I did make a gorgeous Christmas Fireplace Mantel with Next this week. It was so fun styling and putting a theme together for our new front room and it’s rose gold and mixed metallics. I want it up all year long.

Your weekend away looked like so much fun Jenny – I am so pleased you managed to enjoy a little break away before the busy period #littleloves
Your weekend away sounds amazing. I love your Christmas mantle.
Thank you so much. I love decorating for the holidays. So fun and so festive.
I’ve just looked up that hotel, it looks gorgeous! Sounds like you’re definitely going to need to invest in some maternity clothes this time around. That jumper is lovely though. And I loved your festive mantle post, I’m going to have to search your Christmas table posts from the last few years for a bit of inspiration as I always love them. Have a great week x
I cannot wait to read about your trip to Skipton! I love a British getaway and I’m definitely looking for more places to visit. Hope you feel better in time for London! Have a great week. #LittleLoves
Your weekend getaway with Mr P looked wonderful. I can’t wait to read about it. I really hope you feel better soon Jenny, I hate this time of year for coughs and colds.
I have to say you look like a celebrity out and about photographed by the paparazzi in that pic – love it!! xx
I enjoyed reading about your weekend! I like busy weekends myself but also to get a little peace and rest time. I’m going to look up that book you’re reading since it would be good to have something new to read on the little breaks I have and I love your photos!
Oh yes it’s nice to have balance between the busy and the resting weekends.
Sounds like a busy week Jenny and so many congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope your cold is on the way out very soon xx
Your fireplace looks absolutely beautiful! I remember that hairband trick well, I refused to buy new work uniform and did that instead!! x
