{Funny Phrases} #30

funnyphrases30I was nervous when I found out that Buba couldn’t see very well and needed glasses. Then after realizing he was more confident and social with his new aided sight, I relaxed a bit. It’s only recently at the beach that I was grateful that he couldn’t wear them in the water. Why you ask?

Now that he can see in detail instead I have been on the end of his new discoveries, I am not sure I want him to see Mommy so clearly…

“Eeewww, what’s that Mommy?” pointing out my varicose veins.

“Eeewww, what’s that Mommy?” pointing out a zit on my face.

“Eeewww, what’s that Mommy?” pointing out the bruise on my thigh.

“Eeewww, what’s that Mommy?” pointing at my cold sore on my lip.

“Is there a baby in there?” I reply not anymore, Missy Moo is right here, “then what’s that? pointing at the leftover belly.

“You need to brush your hair, Mommy” pointing at the bun on top of my head. It’s a new hairdo, “no it’s not, it’s messy”.

“You have lots of freckles, make them go away.” pointing at my freckled hands and arms.

I was only relieved at the beach that he couldn’t point out flaws of strangers as he does to me so publicly. I was thankful for once that he couldn’t see and shout out, “does she have a baby in her belly?” like he did when we went to dinner the other night. The guy was not impressed. It’s hard to shhh a toddler, I swear it’s like asking them to shout louder.

While in the bathroom at the beach the other day, he shouted, “I pooed Mommy, it’s your turn, sit down!” I heard a handful of chuckles outside the cubicle.

I do love his sayings, his questions and his entertaining phrases but sometimes I wonder if he knows he is saying something funny on purpose or not? It wouldn’t surprise me if toddlers were that clever to get their revenge.

Then there are moments that aren’t revenge but just funny.

At breakfast this morning, I asked him what he wanted to eat, he replied, “food because my belly is so hungry right now,” rubbing his belly for an added effect, “just feed me, please Mommy”.  As if he would starve on the spot and as if I ever have not fed him breakfast.

Kids really do say the craziest things. Do your tots come out with funny phrases? Would love to hear them, comment below.

  1. Rynne’s new thing is “you’re just taking too long” exactly one second after I’ve told her to give me a minute or that I’m cooking dinner, etc. She is also always telling me that her belly is big like mine…I would just like to say that I would love for my belly to be big like hers as it is perfectly flat lol!

    • I know isn’t it funny how they perceive us. Buba tells me my belly is huge all the time. Little tyke. Lol that is so funny – you are just taking too long! Bless! I love it. Thanks for sharing.
