Green Bean Casserole Recipe Christmas Dinner or Thanksgiving

Green Bean Casserole is one of my favorite festive casseroles to make for my family. It’s a recipe I grew up with as a child myself during the holidays. There isn’t a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner that I haven’t ate without this on the table. Over the years, I have changed the way I have made it and altered it numerous times to fit special occasions.

It is a dish that brings back memories and makes new ones in the process. My kids love it served up with chunked of grilled chicken in it during the summer so that it’s a dish we can enjoy all year long now and not just for the holidays. Since we just had Thanksgiving and it had been awhile since I made it I thought I would share it all with you. Maybe this dish will become a family tradition for your festive table too.

If you don’t like Worcestershire, many people make this with soy sauce too. Just substitute same amount for which you prefer. As I mentioned we have added our variations to it over the years but this is your traditional Green Bean Casserole recipe here. Add to it what you wish! Chicken, steak, bacon, fish, you can see your choices are endless. I love it dishes up as a side dish on Thanksgiving/Christmas Day.Green Bean Casserole Recipe Christmas Dinner or Thanksgiving

I love a recipe that makes your mouth water. I am a big savory eater more so, would you believe, than sweets. I would choose hearty meals and food like mash potatoes over pies and cakes or sugary candy anyday. Not saying I don’t like those things too, I very much do.

I adore taking the meals I grew up with in their simplicity and taking them further for our family. There isn’t a recipe that I haven’t eat over and over as a child that I don’t cook for my own kids. Like my Momma’s amazing Potato Soup recipe, it’s amazing how she makes it and I love our family’s spin on it too here.  Do you have childhood recipes that you make for your family now?Green Bean Casserole Recipe Christmas Dinner or Thanksgiving
