Last year, I teamed up with Boots Natural Collection testing their new makeup range. I am not one to venture far from the makeup I use on a daily basis. I have sensitive skin and I like a very natural look to my day and night makeup so when I find products that work I am loyal. Sometimes it’s nice to have the opportunity to try something new and different. I was a little skeptical when I was first introduced to the Natural Collection when I heard each item is only £1.99. For me, makeup has to feel smooth and light on my face. I hate feeling like I have putty on my face that I have to scrape off before I climb into bed. I like hints of colors but nothing that screams that I fell into that face putty I was just talking about. I have little facial features so I like makeup products to accent my features more not overtake them. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover same as you shouldn’t judge makeup by it’s price.
It’s a new year and with it I always take the time to clean out my makeup drawer, wash all those pesky brushes and organize my dressing table again. Each year, Santa brings me a new makeup bag for traveling too. Out with the old, in with the new. I keep in mind when I am makeover of my makeup area and cleaning it all out that I don’t want to go spend a ton of money on new makeup either. January is budget time after Christmas. I go through eyeshadows that I might have forgotten in the bottom of the drawer and put them on top. You can be surprised how much makeup we don’t use that is still usable. But it’s also nice to pamper yourself even with a small budget with some new makeup. Why not use this opportunity to buy something a little different than what you have already in stock in that makeup bag.
Five of my must-have Natural Collection new essentials for my makeup bag this year only cost £10. Being a parent, I don’t have time to sit and put a lot of makeup on but the bare essential is nice to give your face that glow for the school run, work, running errands and playdates with friends.
MAKEOVER YOUR MAKEUP BAG FOR JUST £10 with these:
Natural Collection Brow Kit – This is perfect to add shape and shadow to my eyes, being a blonde my eyebrows are “barely there” eyebrows and this helps define them more.
Natural Collection Solo Eyeshadow – I use lighter colors for a casual simple touch. Usually golds, pinks, and light purples to brush my eyelids with for a casual day look.
Natural Collection Eyeliner (available in stores only) – I normally like a pencil but since I tried out this liquid eyeliner I am very impressed as it gives a better defined outline of my eyes. I just have to get used to applying it better. Practice makes perfect, right?
Natural Collection Juicy Lips Gloss – I love lip gloss because I like my makeup very natural and casual looking, lip gloss gives that hue of color without being in your face. I also don’t think I can pull off vibrant color on my lips during the day so it’s nice to whip some lip gloss on for the school run or running errands just so I don’t look washed out. (especially in winter).
Natural Collection Highlighter Stick – This was probably something I would never think to buy or try but is my new favorite item in my makeup bag. It highlights my cheekbones and gives a nice bronze glow to my cheeks. It’s also very easy to apply. Bonus.
With these five little must-have added items to my makeup bag, I can apply these to a freshly washed face and not worry that the check out lady at the grocery store is going to ask me (again) if I am feeling ok. I didn’t have to break the bank to even add them to my daily makeup look either. This range really does have so many other colors to choose from too. I won’t be stuck wearing the same five pastel shades with this range which I really love.
My makeup hardly takes any time to apply and then it keeps me going all day. As I mentioned above, I was a little skeptical at the price would this makeup last a whole day? Would the color fade or would I have to reapply it in the afternoon? It turns out even after a long day of school runs, work, errands and swimming lessons after school when I picked both my kids up, it was still fresh and there (see below after a busy hard day). I wouldn’t boast about something I don’t use or don’t love but I can honestly say I used this makeup everyday since trying it out last year. It’s now a staple in my makeup bag and at a bargain price I can try new colors and products in the range without breaking the bank.
