If there is one time I take the best care of my skin, it’s when I am pregnant. I know, I should take care of my skin all the time. When I am pregnant my skin kind of goes a little crazy so it makes me focus on it even if I don’t want to. With our pregnant bodies changing and growing along with our baby, it’s no wonder it needs a lot more TLC.
I struggle sleeping when I start to get a big bump. It’s harder to roll around and get comfortable which makes for a lot of loss sleep. I always put it down to baby preparing me for those newborn sleepless nights at the beginning. But there are a few skincare tips you can do to help you catch the zzz’s you need to feel fresh in the morning.
Since I have two older kids, ages four and six, I really want them to feel apart of this pregnancy as much as possible. I want them to get involved with my bump and not feel like it’s all about baby and not them. My two talk daily to my bump which is my favorite part of the morning when they run in and wake me up, shouting, “good morning mama, good morning baby.” I kid you not! Another one of my favorite things since getting pregnant and the bump starting to show fully now is the kids LOVE rubbing my belly with lotion. It was my son that saw me rubbing my belly with lotion one evening and asked if he could do it for me. It always ends up in giggles and both kids getting to feel baby brother kick back as they rub lotion in circles around my bump. It also is very, very relaxing for me to unwind at night too.
In comes the amazing Sleep Easy Mama kit, my new favorite pregnancy skincare products all wrapped up in one package. I was just saying the other day I need a good relaxing, calming oil for the bath too. I had ran out of my lotion for my belly and hubby even had mentioned I should look for pregnancy pillow spray to help me get to sleep easier. It’s no wonder Mama Mio came up with this pregnancy insomnia gift set. It’s got everything I need to help aid me into those sweet dreams at night.
This is a bonus for mamas, we like being pampered too. It’s not all about trying to fix those sleepless nights. It’s about relaxing and taking the best care of our bodies. I really should take better care of my skin and body when I am not pregnant but it’s a great motivation to start now. I am getting in a better routine of pampering myself when I need it. Sat at a desk, all day typing, can really get those muscles aching and tight come night time.
The Bath and Shower Oil, I have only used in our bath. I like a soothing bath when I feel the back aches coming on or need help to destress from a busy day at work. It’s a lovely scent and doesn’t leave the bath feeling slimy. I have a few bath oils that just ruin the actual tub when I drain them. The kids think this smells like flowers. It’s subtle enough it doesn’t kick my nausea in like some perfume scents do while I am pregnant.
I have tried the bio oils and other lotions on the market and what makes me love this one the most is the smell. It’s reminds me of the spa. I could quite easily beg hubby to rub it on my back too for extra relaxation. It’s smooth and creamy and rubs in right away. A lot of tummy balms and lotions can be really thick and waxy and don’t actually soak in nicely so they get on your clothes.
Last but not least, pillow spray. I love this product. Having always been some that uses home sprays, pillow sprays, linen sprays for various reasons from spring cleaning, to freshening the house, to help in sleep when I have a cold or in this case when I am pregnant, this is right up my street. Inhaling the calm lavender type scent helps me drop off and think more about the lovely smell than my to do list and other things that cloud my brain when I am trying to shut off. It’s a good thing to focus on and practice breathing too while I am at it for a great relief of sleep anxiety.
I am finding my evening routine of a hot bath with bath oil, kids rubbing my belly butter on my tummy and a few spritz of pillow spray is a great routine for a good night sleep. I definitely feel pampered in the process.
What a fab gift set for someone that’s expecting isn’t it? Sometimes we need a little TLC for our changing bodies when we are growing a baby and little pampering skincare products like these can really make a difference. Just writing this makes me want to go soak in the tub with my bath oil now. While I do that, why not enter my ultimate MAMAS HAMPER below even if you are not expecting you are bound to know someone to send these beautiful products for a luxury pamper gift set.
