I say it each week, where has this week gone? How can it possibly be Friday already? My ‘to do’ list is still way too long to come to the weekend already!
I have always considered myself an upbeat person. A person that tries to stay positive and bubbly for most things. There are some things I just can’t hack though and that’s technology frustrations. The kind that should be a simple fix, or shouldn’t happen at all, but usually will happen to me. I always joke that I must have walked under a few ladders or that mirror I broke in the bathtub growing up really did curse me. This week saw the brunt of it all, when my website crashed and after three days of trying to fix it bluehost were no help and I had to move to tsohost. I won’t sit and slander anyone I blame my curse. But it’s been a tough week of needing to do certain things on certain days and not being able to do so.
On top of that, it’s just one of those weeks where even the small things go wrong. Drive all the way to swimming class, it’s not close to where we live, cancelled. Drive to eat lunch out with my daughter, forgot my wallet at home. Just the little things that make your routine and plans go out the window really does frustrate me. So there it lies it’s been a frustrating week. This is why I love Morgana’s linky so much. It makes you stop and love the little things that did go right! In line with my new year’s word of balance I am reading more, being more calm (when I can) and listening and watching things that make me happy.
Read
I am currently reading The Happiness Project. It was recommended to me by a fellow blogger and I have only just got through chapter one. Very intriguing I will let you know how I get on. I am hoping this year is full of positives and that this book just at least makes me smile while I read it.
Heard
I have shared my Beauty Failures & Favorites on MumTalkTV this past Wednesday. Where I share with you a little about some new products I am using and a new routine in my 30s that I am hoping won’t become just another beauty failure in my book. Would love some of you to comment on it if you can!
Watched
I jumped on this bandwagon from twitter to watch my very first English tv drama series ever! It was called Broadchurch! You all have been raving about it endlessly and therefore Mr P and I sat down and caught up on season one. My thoughts… well it very well could be the American in me. But it’s not my favorite. It’s slow and drawn out. One episode was just the them walking around in slow motion the entire episode. I am too accustom to my fast pace, drama packed shows in the USA to watch anything else. There was only one story line finding the killer to a little boy from the very first episode and now solved how could it go on?? We haven’t decided if we will continue with season two playing now. But I just wanted to understand what all the rave is about???? Fill me in people, please????
Wore
Missy Moo is the fashionista this week as she has been strutting her new barrettes in her hair all week. It’s growing in so fast, I swear each morning I see it a little thicker and a little longer. The curls are starting to form at the nape of her neck too. It’s so cute. People have stopped asking if she is a boy despite her in dresses, skirts and pink. We are still obsessed with our #littlebirds clothes from Mothercare. I think we pretty much own all their stuff. The style suits MM and I love the vibrant colors.
Made
I made up this fabulous sweet, dessert muffin recipe called Berry Streusel Muffins. It turned out so scrumptious and I think I even like it better than cake. It was the perfect mix between a muffin and a cupcake. The berries gave it that added healthy vibe to it and the kids loved them. So easy to make, you must try them out. Perfect for the kids after school snack or a weekend picnic!!!
And lastly…
I am continued my path to get my Pinterest more organized and learn some creative things from it in the process. This week I have been working on decorating my mantelpiece in my new front room and I haven’t quite decided what style I should go for yet. While I ponder this debate I have been adding ideas to my new “Set Your Table” board. My dining room table will be my next project!

I’m sorry you had such a frustrating week Jenny. The whole technology thing sounds like such a nightmare. I went with TSOhost originally on the recommendation of Sara from Mum Turned Mom and I’m glad I did now! I really enjoyed The Happiness Project – it made me feel very focused on getting things right and getting balance (which I know you are already trying to do!). As I said in my review Gretchen Rubin is a very different person to me but a lot of her happiness principles make a lot of sense. I especially liked the ‘treat yourself’ advice because it made me go out and splash out on a good camera for myself which was a very positive part of last year! Missy Moo looks adorable in those little pinafore dresses by the way 🙂 Have a great weekend Xx #littleloves
Thanks Sam. Lovely comment as always. So true about the technology. Sometimes you have to walk away and come back to find someons else to fix it. Hahaha i suck at it all. MM is growing up way too fast. I am looking forward to finishing the book. Thanks.
Oh no, what a nightmare your week has been so frustrating! Hopefully next week will not be as bad!! I totally understand what you mean about Broadchurch, but it does get better.. Missy Moo is so cute! Love the dress.. Hope you have a wonderful weekend lovely xx
Thanks hunny. Oh I hope series two is better or I seriously will question you all for loving it so much! hahaha jokes. Thanks we love little birds collection at mothercare for her. Suits her.
Oh luvvie, what a week! Just think though – maybe you’ve got all your bad luck for 2015 out of the way now! 🙂 JEN- NY! Broadchurch!! I’m shocked that you didn’t love it! I know what you mean though – it definitely is slower than the American crime dramas& I love a bit of running and jumping too! Have a fab (less stressful!) weekend poppet xx
Thanks Emma. It does look like things are going better already for the weekend. Hurray! Yes, I thought I would like it. If it was faster paced and more going on I would as it’s my type of show. But maybe season two is better???
A lovely read of you turning around what sounds like a very frustrating week indeed! I think I would have rolled on the floor and cried if I had gone to the restaurant without my purse!!!
Hope you enjoy the Happiness Project…I have just started her second book! x
I think I may have cried inside but lucky they knew me so after I ordered and couldn’t pay they were very nice about it knowing I go in all the time. Haven’t read too much of it yet but waiting for a good time chunk to dive in. I love when there is a second book.
I haven’t watched Broadchurch, but you leaving comments all over the blogosphere slagging it off has definitely given me a giggle! Ah dear! Your muffins look amazing, I’m not a big cake fan, unless they are moist – and these look great with the added fruit. Glad you are all back up and running online, and that next week improves for you x
Hahah Thanks Mel. I only did that because it was recommended to me to be the best show ever by at least 100 different people. I was very confused after finishing the series and not getting why it was so popular. It won’t be mentioned again tho every has different taste. Clearly I am not english enough to get it or just blind. hahahaha It does feel great to get back online and not have any tech problems. I am also loving a more clean fresh look to my blog. I hope everyone else does too. 🙂
Ooh the happiness project looks an interesting read!
Sorry you’ve had a POO week… hopefully next week brings you nothing but sunshine and smiles 🙂
Those muffins have made me hungry…. definitely going to give those a little go.
Hopping over to YouTube to watch your video now too, nice to meet a fellow YouTuber!
Kerry x
Oh thank you ever so much Kerry for popping over. I am just getting my vlogging world started so I am so new at it. I haven’t finished the book yet so we shall see how it goes. Muffins turned out to be the kids favorite. 🙂
Glad its sorted out now Jenny! Your blog is looking fab, love it. Oh The Happiness Project has been sat in my ‘save until later’ folder on amazon for a while, i may have to purchase as i’ve heard some great reviews, look forward yours!?
Your baking always looks so delicious and appetising! Oh I love Pinterest organising, I’ll check out your page x
Thank you so much Natalie. That’s so sweet of you. I love food photography. I only hope mine are half as good as the magazines out there someday I would love to be a food photographer but I have years to go.
Sounds like you’ve had a really tough week! Sometimes you just have to write weeks off don’t you and look forward to the next week starting. I love Missy Moos outfit. My little girl has a few things in her autumn/ winter wardrobe in that mustard yellow colour – I love it!
Hope next week is a better week for you! xx
Thanks hunny. Oh yes I love mustard yellow on me and her and anyone really. It’s beautiful. So true, I definitely wrote off last week. Starting again on Monday with a better attitude will help too. 🙂
See, we love American TV! Homeland is our favourite show and most English TV bores me. Apart from Downton Abbey – I love that!
Those muffins look incredible, jealous of your baking skills x
Thanks Donna. We are so alike. I love Downton Abbey even the hubster does but that’s the only english tv show that’s allowed on my tv. lol Otherwise it’s Scandal, Revenge, Grey’s Anatomy shows like these. 🙂 Muffins turned out delicious and SO EASY to make. You should try my recipe.
TV bores me totally to be honest, there isn’t a lot I will watch on TV. I think if it was down to me the telly wouldn’t be on (and isn’t when hubby is at work) but he loves the telly so I have no idea what broadchurch is about so can’t help you there unfortunately 🙁 I have seen that book on a few posts now I am thinking about giving it a read! Missy Moo looks totally cute in that dress, that colour really suits her. I could just eat those muffins right now!
Thanks hunny. We are the same not big tv fans. We prefer a good movie otherwise the tv isn’t on usually. I am usually blogging and he is reading. lol But we branched out because everyone is raving about this english show. But we didn’t really like it. 🙂 Thanks I love vibrant colors on MM.
I haven’t seen Broadchurch but I like American and busy too. MM is looking gorgeous, I love Little Bird too and I know if I had a girl she would wear it a lot!
I know I think I should be a spokesperson for Little Birds we own it all. hahahaa It’s so beautiful. Wish they had more boy stuff. Hope all is well hun. Thanks for popping over.
Those muffins look gorgeous Jenny. I am sorry you have been having technology problems- that sucks. I hate it when things go wrong with my blog- it really upsets me. I hope you get it sorted soon. xx
Finally we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel I moved hosts and ALL the problems even the little glitches I used to have all are fixed. Amazing and I haven’t lost anything or comments etc. So worth it!!!! Muffins turned out scrumptious. I need to start baking healthier things though or my back side is going to take over!
Oh Jenny, MM is just the cutest. She really suits that dress!
As for Broadchurch I LOVE it, I’m the opposite of you and get a bit bored by the fast paced spell it out for you dramas. I like that Broadchurch kept you guessing – hey it would be boring if we all liked the same stuff though right?
Really hope the blog techy stuff is sorted for you now lovely, I know how fed up you were by it and I would be the same. xxxxxx
Yup so true on the all alike and technology fingers crossed is all great now. I love the little birds stuff on MM. Vintage style to it. Lol
I’m so glad you’ve sorted out your tech issues. I’m with tsohost and they’ve been brilliant. I love your new blog layout, it’s very fresh and clear.
I love the Little Bird clothing range, it’s so bright and cheerful.x #littleloves
Me too, it was week of a nightmare but all seems so much better and faster now too. So it was a blessing in disguise because it made me transfer hosts. Thanks I was so nervous to change it but I love it now. Just waiting for my new logo to be finished. I love bright clothes on MM. They suit her.
Bit late on commenting…so sorry! Manic week! I’m glad you got all your blog issues sorted and can I just say it looks gorgeous! Hopefully that’s you had your turn at the technical glitches for a long time. MM is the cutest! Love curly little blonde locks and she is wearing my favourite colour. Hope you had a great weekend sweetie xx
Thanks hunny. We have the same favorite color then. Love mustard yellow. Yes hoping thats the long emd of techno issues. It all had to do with my bluehost. Now with tsohost and all is well. Lol thanks i was nervous to change it but I love it now. Just waiting on my logo to be made and it should be done.
I’m so sorry you’ve had such a stressful and frustrating week Jenny, i had been following your posts on facebook and could see you were having a really hard time with Bluehost. Thank heavens for Zoe eh? She really is a godsend when it comes to blog/technical stuff! Um…….who took baby missy moo and replaced her with a grown up girl? She is such a little ray of sunshine and those golden locks are definitely growing! Those Berry Streusel Muffins look delicious! xxx #littleloves
Thanks Vikki. I know I couldnt take it anymore. zoe is heavenly. Such a big savor. I couldnt agree more. MM is way too grown up all the sudden.
I saw your frustrations unfold on Facebook and I feel your pain. I had major issues transferring from FatCow to TSOHost – TSO forgot all about me and I nearly missed the deadline and lost all my blogs! Anyway, it all got sorted in the end. I hope you are calmer now. Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo x
Yes much much calmer, happier and everything seems to be going smoothly now. Hahaha
