Winter Coats, Halloween and an Announcement #littleloves

Last updated on May 5th, 2024 at 02:49 pm

What a week! I can truly say that …. phew. From half term busy days to huge announcements to trick or treating it’s been one amazing week. I love this time of year so much to do and celebrate. There is always something going on for us to experience as a family too. The kids really got the most out of trick or treating this year too. MM was finally old enough not to be scared to run with her brother up to the door to ring the door bell or scary masks because she understood they were just costumes. It made it such a fun evening taking them out trick or treating.

The weather has gone so cold though. It was like it turned Halloween night to a crisp, cold air. All the winter coats are officially pulled out for us. Luckily we didn’t have to cover the Halloween costumes too much. We had our friends over for dinner and a big halloween celebration and it was fab. The week of half term has just blurred by for us. We have been doing something everything which always makes it go that much faster but I think we have enjoyed being home for it this year whereas previous years we have been away.

THIS WEEK I AM LOVING…

I am awful, I have not read any of my new book.  I didn’t start Wilde Like Me last week as I mentioned. With the kids off we have been out and about everyday and I am so exhausted at night I just can’t stay awake long enough to get a few chapters in like I normally do. I have been reading lots of blogs while I have been home with the kids though. I am trying my best to keep up with my favorites but also branch out and find some new blogs to follow. If only there was more time in the day to just read and comment. Any blogs you are loving this week? Do comment below and let me know…. interior, fashion, food, family.

Have you heard our big announcement?

We are still watching WhiteCollar on Netflix. I also have been watching The Originals when Mr P is working late or at the gym at night. Now I love when my favorite shows do spin offs with the characters. This is one from Vampire Diaries and I love the characters in it. It was Halloween what better thing to watch them a show of Vampires, Witches and Werewolves. Appropriate I think! Have you seen it?

It’s been utterly freezing here lately. The air has a crisp cold sense about it when it whips your face. I have chapped lips. It’s time to pull out the bobble hats, scarves, gloves, and those big winter coats. I scooped up this mustard winter coat from Tesco and this gorgeous white knit sweater with beautiful bows on the arms.

Making the effort big time this year, Daddy took the day off work during half term so we could have some quality family time. The kids are getting to that age where he is taking more time off so we can spend it together. We had so much fun at the pumpkin patch with the kids this week too. We got a very bright sunny day for it and lucky for us there were still some pumpkins actually left in the field to pick. We sadly came too late for the corn maze but we still managed to get our annual Halloween family photo near what was left of the corn fields after storm Brian. It felt very Autumn.

  1. Such amazing news my lovely, I love the kiddies faces when they realise what you are talking about. I hope the vertigo and sickness all stops soon and you can enjoy the pregnancy, I am so excited about moving somewhere where kids trick or treat, its so lovely and something I feel we miss out on living in the country. No one has EVER trick or treated at our home. But Joe went into the village with his aunty and uncle this year and had the best time x

    • Oh that is exciting we love trick or treaters so fun for the kids too. I know took the kids a bit to realise what a baby in Mommy’s belly meant and then process it. B reaction and questions made me laugh so hard.

  4. Sounds like a week fully of autumn celebrations for you! Love that all the supermarkets are stocking such fabulous (and affordable) fashion right now. Anyone who is anyone has a yellow jacket so I think you’re in the right zone there! Love the white sweater, really cute but will go with everything 🙂 Congratulations again on your fantastic news! So excited for you. xx
