Family, feelings, and many firsts #littleloves

It’s Friday and my Momma has finally arrived! We spend yesterday celebrating her first full day in the UK and her 60th birthday. OH what a treat it is having her here with all of us to celebrate on such a big milestone. We are off to Venice next week just me and her for a mother/daughter trip. I can’t hardly contain my excitement. Each time she visits we choose somewhere different to go just the two of us. These trips where I don’t have to share her with anyone else are truly special to me. I know they are to her too as she has never been to Venice.

This week has been a little bit boring waiting for her big arrival. Cleaning and preparing the house and kids. “What to do and what not to do when we have guests here!” That could be a whole manual for my two crazy tots but here are a few #littleloves to share in spite of it.

Read

I finally finished Morgana’s book, The Wrong Knickers. I woke up on Mother’s Day and thought I would take myself off for a hot bath, soy latte, and finish a book. It was blissful. I have never had a bath in the morning before, I was pleasantly surprised how good it felt. IMG_9162

Heard

I have been refraining from sharing all my country songs lately here, but with my Momma here this one came to mind and I had to share. As parents I think we all hope our children feel this way about us. It’s a beautiful tear jerker. I think of my Momma when I hear it.

Watched

I have somehow missed the first few episodes of Grey’s Anatomy! I know what is wrong with me. While I have desperately tried to find them online to catch up I have it on record from now on. Phew!

Wore

I have been wearing my workout gear and new running shoes everyday this past week. I am on a huge mission to tone up and lose the last bit of baby weight before I go to France next month and put on a swimsuit. It’s a first for me to be using kettlebells but I seriously have fallen in love with them. I can work out in half the time and burn more calories with them than anything else, running included. To me, that’s my kind of exercise. I have been finding tons of kettlebell workouts on youtube each night to tone various parts of my body.

I also got dressed up and had afternoon tea with my friend visiting from Spain and a few others. It was so lovely and I feel great carrying a handbag sometimes instead of a diaper bag and we walked around a few shops in Manchester afterwards with no strollers in tow. It was a great time with good company and a great excuse to wear heels!

Made

I am so obsessed with pancakes and crepes I think I really could live off them. There are so many ways you can eat them which makes me never get bored them either. I think this week I had one day where I even ate a crepe for breakfast and mini pancakes for lunch. That may be over kill and not helping my new workout routine any but oh they tasted so good.

Crepes

And lastly…

I know it’s a bit over the top to beg so I will only politely ask (a few times) so please don’t hate me for this… but it’s that time of year again for the #Bibs2015 I would be ever so grateful if you would VOTE for Let’s Talk Mommy! My blog is my third baby and I would love to be recognized for all my hard work someday.

  1. How lovely to have your mum visit! Venice is fab and you are going at a great time before it gets hot and smelly from the canals. Sounds like you had a lovely Mother’s Day morning! I love crepes too, especially with just sugar and lemon. Have a great time with your mommy xxxx

    • Oh yes I have heard it gets smelly so hoping we miss that too. Thank you. I really can’t wait and neither can my mother. We did really have a wonderful mother’s day. Crepes are the best. I have never tried the english version with lemon and sugar. It’s on my list. lol

My gym has a class one morning each week but I wasn’t sure what it involved. Have a super weekend planning for your trip away. Avril x

    • Oh you must try them out. I was the same and didn’t know what they were about but once I did them fell in love. It burns so many calories in such a little time. My kind of workout as a busy mom. We have a lot planned for my mom’s visit can’t wait to share it all with my readers.

  4. Have fun with your mom Jenny – Venice will be amazing. I have to say kettlebells aren’t really on my radar but it seems like a good idea – especially for those of us who find it difficult to get out of our own houses to exercise. That morning bath sounds glorious – I hope you were well clear of interruptions too 🙂 Have a fab weekend hon Xx #littleloves

    • Thank you ever so much. I love having her here and wish she could come more often. Two weeks just isn’t enough time together. Thank you. I have been waiting for a really sunny day as it’s a romantic style bedroom so there isn’t a lot of light to photograph well. lol hahahah Soon I promise though.

  8. I love my kettlebell but I haven’t used it for ages. It’s the only at-home workout I’ve ever really enjoyed and done from start to finish. I like the Jillian Michaels – Shred it with Weights routine, but you really feel it the next day!

    • Oh I will have to look into that one. Sounds ace. I need to really up my game plan if I want results. lol Kettlebells seem to be doing that for me so far.

    • Venice is crappy it’s flooding everywhere and we are freezing. Lots of money spent on food and drowning our sorrows in wine. Lol kettlebells are amazing and toning my stomach up just like Katie said. So impressed with them.
