It’s almost the weekend and I am looking forward to having a nice chilled out family weekend. Hoping the weather is a bit better so we can go on a family adventure somewhere and ignore that both kids once again have a cough and sniffle.
This week has been a relaxing one. I think finding balance has really done us all good. My journey on the juicing is still ongoing. I did find the three detox a little of a belly ache, literally but I am enjoying having one juice a day now. I didn’t think I would like the taste of it but I really do. Fingers crossed I stick with it, the machines are not easy to clean!
So here is what we have been up to and loving this week for our #littleloves of happiness.
I have been trying to catch up on blogs I love and my commenting in December was poor (sorry everyone) but I am on a mission to make up for it. I have loved these posts this week…
- Sometimes It’s Hard To Be A Woman – More Than Toast
- Style In Your City – Wild & Grizzly
- The Queen of Empty Threats – Hurrah for Gin
- Things We Love About Winter – Life At The Little Wood
I have been listening to the sound of my own voice (I know cringe) and I realized that when I try to speak louder and more clear my voice often cuts out or comes out croaky like I am about to lose it. This is not a good thing for a vlogger if I can’t speak clearly. So I have been trying to find ways to fix it. Someone said peppermint tea? Another recommended a mini microphone? I have had surgery on my vocal chords before and I am just worried I will have to do it again or worse I am losing my voice all together, forever. I know extreme! A true tragedy for a blabber mouth like me! So while I still can I will share my latest vlog with you.
I have been watching Mike & Molly. A silly USA comedy show that is only 30 minutes long each week but sometimes I am in need of a little OTT cheesy tv to relax and laugh at. Mr P thinks its stupid and that I am crazy when I snort with laughter in my coffee while watching it. I love cheesy USA tv, I really can’t help it.
We were so excited this week to get asked to review some Mayoral girl designer clothing for Missy Moo. She took it in stride too smiling and having fun with the camera. I was impressed. I thought it was going to take me hours trying to get her to pose and smile. She even pointed to her butterfly hair clips and asked for one in her hair. A true model in the making, I shutter to think. lol
I made this Fruit Puff Pastry Tart for an afternoon treat the other day. I literally had some left over puff pastry and thought I would just throw some brown sugar on top and bake. Then I found some fruit in the fridge too and this recipe was born. I love when a recipe comes from nothing but the remnants of the fridge. They are the best kind and it took me five minutes to make up and ten minutes to bake. Boom, you have yourself a tasty treat for the whole family.
I am so excited that I have been asked to cohost Me & Mine family portrait project over at Dear Beautiful along side so many amazing bloggers I love and admire. I would love it if you joined in with your family captures, it opens up tomorrow until mid February. You can link up from my blog post or any other cohosts if you like. It was such a great project to be involved with last year and really made me get out from behind the camera and get in the photos with my kids and husband without it I wouldn’t have some many snapshots and great memories of all of us together.
Linking up with the gorgeous and lovely Morgana at Butwhymummywhy for her #littleloves and the amazing and beautiful Vic at Vevivos for #PoCoLo

Those tarts look yum, anything with fruit and pastry has my vote!
Sorry to read that your voice still isn’t good, I’d pop over to the doctors if I were you and maybe look up some vocal warm exercises?
Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend with the family xxx
Thanks babes you too and I look forward to catching up next week. Oh the tarts are easy and scrummy. I might have to whip you up a batch for Friday! 🙂
Those tarts! Yummy.. They look amazing and Im going to pinch the recipe and make my own! Congratulations on the Me and Mine cohosting.. Fab linky! Have a wonderful weekend x
Pinch away and pin for later! lol I love when others try my recipes out. Thanks on the congrats I am so very excited!!! Hope lots turn up.
Another one who thinks fruit and pastry is a winner! I am hoping to persuade the husband to join in with Me and Mine this year, we have so few photos of us as a family. x
Oh it took some huge bribery for my hubby but he has no choice now. We have to up our game being cohost! lol You should join in I wouldn’t have any of the four of us if I didn’t have this project to motivate and push me to beg for it. it’s hard getting us four together all looking in one direction lol Hope you join in. Good luck with hubster

Sounds like a good week x #PoCoLo
Thanks hun. It really was. I love sharing our week and catching everyone up on our mini adventures if they can’t stop by during the week.
Oh no, not your voice?! I think this is your trademark, it really would be a tragedy to loose it. Fear not, I’m sure it will be there for decades to come. As for Missy Moo, how cute does she look? A model in the making for sure! x
Thanks Suzanne. She loved it almost too much it was scary. lol hahahah Thanks I really am worried about that darn voice of mine. lol
Your fruit tart looks lovely. I often chuck leftover meats and cheeses into pastry for tea but have never used it for a sweet dish. I’ll have to check out me and mine. I have very few shots of the kids all together, it’s like rustling a bag of snakes to get them all in one place looking at one thing! x
Oh I know the feeling darling I bet and plead and bribe my entire family for them each month. Yes do join in. I wouldn’t have family photos of all of us otherwise. Lol thanks oh yes puff pastry is the best for sweet things. Even just baked with sugar on top like a donut. Yummy. I will have to try meet and cheese on it. Never had a savory one. Haha
Ooh all of these Little Loves posts are making me hungry this week – those pastry puffs look amazing! The Mayoral outfit is super gorgeous, I really love the colours – they scream summer! Off to check out your YouTube video 🙂
Oh thanks Kerry so sweet of you. We had a good week.

Jenny, everything is so beautiful! I love Missy Moo’s modelling shots – I think you have a Boden catalogue model on your hands there. She’s a natural! And the fruit tarts look delicious. You can come and stay at ours anytime if you’ll be in charge of breakfast! 😉 Happy weekend poppet xxx
Oh if you let me cook in that kitchen of yours Emma I will come stay forever. It’s my dream kitchen. Missy Moo impressed me so much. I thought there was going to be bribery and begging but not at all. She loved it and the attention on her. So funny. Hope I get to do it again soon.

Thanks Michelle. I will have to check your linky out. Sounds great. Oh the tarts were so scrumptious. And so easy to make. Try them out.
I’m trying out the juicing as well, we did the three day detox last year – never again, so looking forward to doing one juice a day, but I know what you mean about cleaning the machine! After reading this, I’ll also be trying out those fruit tarts. 🙂 Have a great weekend xxx
Oh the fruit tarts are so easy to make and so much more filling and nice than juicing detox. hahahah Those machines are a pain to clean four time a day during the detox. I really need to do more exercise with it all though to do anything. lol Been lazy for too long.

Triona all you have to do is do some negotiations and bribery babes I did it and it worked wonders on the hubby. lol The tart is so easy and so delicious I have been making them non stop lately. Really good with a glaze frosting on top too. You enjoy your weekend too!

I LOVE the sound of your voice, you can’t lose it! Seriously though, fingers crossed you don’t need anymore surgery sweetie, that would definitely suck as i enjoy your vlogs! That fruit puff pastry tart looks divine, your photography and food styling have come on so much lately, you are very talented mama, believe in yourself more! Can we just take a second to discuss Missy Moo……when did she get so grown up? Totally loving the Mayoral clothes on her, she looks gorgeous! Hope you guys have a lovely weekend xxx #LittleLoves
Thank you so much Vikki. I know I can’t believe how big she is and how grown she was being taking these captures. She was loving it. Where is my baby? Glad someone likes my vlogs not many watch or subscribe but I need to practice more and do more. My food photography is my favorite thing only wish I could cook better. lol I love my photos now but man when I look back at my first recipe it’s cringe! I need to go back and redo photos for them. Up their game a little. lol

Oh thanks so much hunny. I am so blessed can’t wait. They are all great bloggers so I am honored to be mentioned near them! Lol
Sounds like it’s been a very eventful week for you! I love watching sitcoms just to unwind from a busy day. There’s plenty for me to choose from, but reruns of Friends are always my go-to. I can’t get enough of those. I’ve saved your pastry tart recipe and can’t wait to try them! I’m trying to get my daughter to eat a variety of foods, and this one might be a good one for her to try. Hope the weather holds up and you have a great weekend!
Thanks Maria. Oh yes reruns of friends are the best. I love it because you don’t have to think much to enjoy it. it’s happy entertainment. lol You too, Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi there from a first time linky-upper 🙂 Loving your blog – the font is fab (I’m into my fonts #geek). How cute is your little one? She’s got modelling potential for sure…and as for those tarts? Delish…what a great way to get another one of your five-a-day. Sorry to hear about your voice – I don’t really know much about what might be causing it but it does sound like you should have it looked at by an ENT specialist. Have a super weekend! Ax
Welcome to LTM and glad you stopped by and liked what you see. It’s always great to hear from new readers. Oh Missy Moo loved her modeling just a little too much. lol Frightful how much she has grown up lately. Oh you must try the tarts so easy and so delicious. Anything for that five a day. haha Hope to see you again soon!

Good luck with the juicing lovely – I love mine and my green smoothies too and am going to miss them for the next 4 weeks whilst I review another diet. I love the look of that fruit puff, the interview with Charlotte is fab and I noticed the info on Mike and Molly earlier and quite like the look of it 🙂 Oh, and for the throat – try naturall lemon with a spoon of honey – works wonders for me! Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo x
Thanks hunny for the tips on the throat. I will try some natural lemon and honey. I will try anything at this point. Juicing is great I have noticed I get a belly ache if I do too much. Will have to go from juicing to smoothies and back and forth. Thanks I am trying to get better. Would love to interview you sometime too for my bloggers interview! 🙂
Those fruit tarts look lovely. I bet they are beautiful warm with ice cream. I need to finish watching your video with Charlotte! I started watching it before and was interupted by a child wanting to watch the ‘What Does The Fox Say’ video instead! xx
Hahah we have alot of laptop overtake here too! Although my kids love watching my youtube videos (weirdos) but great fans of Mommy’s. lol Thanks the tarts were amazing try them out! So easy to make.

I love Mayoral kids clothes, just after I had O a little kids boutique near us was having a closing down sale and I think I bought everything Mayoral in there, from newborn up to 3 years old.
Good on you for the juicing, I tried to get into it last summer and failed miserably! xxx
Ya I am doing ok but the machine is a pain to clean everyday. Oh wow lucky you on the mayoral haul!!!
