Our Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair

I have to say that I have owned a few highchairs in my short motherhood time. They always seem to be so bulky, hard to clean, in the way, and not matching with the rest of the decor in the house. I love to keep that show home look to my house so I was in search of a highchair I could tie in with our dining room without breaking the bank. I am a huge ebay seller and buyer so once I found one I thought ticked all the boxes for me, I jumped on ebay for a great bargain.

Our new (but used) Stokke Tripp Trapp highchair came and I was ecstatic how well it was taken care of. Why pay full price for this gorgeous highchair when my ebay version was just as good and far less painful on the bank account. In fact, I was really resourceful and sold some of Buba’s and Missy Moo’s old clothes on ebay to pay for it. Win, win!

What I like about this highchair besides the fact that it matches my dining room perfectly, is that I can use it for both my kids or for that extra fold up chair if we have guests over. I fit perfectly in it after you take the baby guard off. From baby to adult, who could ask for more? I got mine with a gorgeous washable cushion but even without it, the highchair wipes clean easily. It doesn’t have nasty, dirty, old straps hanging off as our old highchair did, nor does its legs stick out so far it can’t possibly fit anywhere else but in the way.

As Missy Moo gets bigger and moves from her bumbo to a highchair, I am thinking about buying another one so they both have matching chairs at the dining room table. One of my favorite things, a must in this household, is that we all sit down at the table for dinner as much as possible.

Buba’s first meal in his new big boy chair, was hilarious. He kept repeating, “I a big boy now mommy!” He was delighted to be eating at the table with Mommy and Daddy and all at the same height level. Unlike his last highchair, which was bulky and was in the corner of the dining room only because that’s the only place it fit.  It was like he grew up over night, sitting here before me, I could have cried a happy tear.
