“Mommy, why are the flowers is shapes? I see a circle, a triangle, and even a crescent!” Honestly, what kid knows the shape of the crescent. Tickled me. I can thank the ‘shape app’ for that one!
Buba loves to talk now. No I don’t think that quite describes him at the moment. Buba never shuts up! Ever! You would think that wouldn’t bother me being a chatterbox myself but on somedays it absolutely drives me bonkers.
“Mommy, what’s this?”
“Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!”
I swear he doesn’t think I know my own name. He has even gone as far as saying “Mommy” for the millionth time and me ignoring him caused him to shout, “Jenny, I am talking to you.” The worse part it was in front of the mailman. Talk about embarrassing!
We have been working on our manners lately with him too. I keep saying I want to raise a gentleman and these are what gentleman say. So today when I was cleaning and cut my foot, he heard me say, ‘crap!’ “Mommy, do gentlemen say crap?” I about choked on my own breath. No they do not! “So I guess you not a gentlemen, are you?” Caught me kid. I am not sure I like my kids getting older, they are starting to call me out on all my mishaps.
“Mommy, are you naughty girl?” …I replied, why do you ask that? “Because I am a naughty boy when I potty my pants” Pointing at my lap where he sister had just dumped her water cup. Mommy, didn’t potty her pants, Missy Moo spilled her water on me. “No you potty your pants, you naughty, do you need my pullup?” I couldn’t convince him otherwise and thanked him for offering up one of his nighttime pullups. I guess he at least learned the art of sharing.
I love this age and the funny things they come out with in the spur of a moment. I am always ready for one of Buba’s one liners or funny car conversations these days. Even better is listening to him and his sister talk back and forth or rather Buba talk at his sister and she just nod and coo back! Here is what I heard this week…
“Baby don’t take my socks off while I potty.”
“I am doing the biggest poo in all the world, right here in this potty.”
“Baby that not good for your teeth.”
“Out of your mouth, that’s yucky, Mommy told you baby!”
“Baby that noise hurts my ears.”
“Come play with me, just don’t touch my cars!”
I love that he calls her baby all the time. I can’t wait to hear what she will say back to him when he is cheeky. I am sure she will have some good replies. Only time will tell.
