Modeling, eating, and losing my voice #littleloves

Last updated on May 6th, 2024 at 10:59 am

It’s almost the weekend and I am looking forward to having a nice chilled out family weekend. Hoping the weather is a bit better so we can go on a family adventure somewhere and ignore that both kids once again have a cough and sniffle.

This week has been a relaxing one. I think finding balance has really done us all good. My journey on the juicing is still ongoing. I did find the three detox a little of a belly ache, literally but I am enjoying having one juice a day now. I didn’t think I would like the taste of it but I really do. Fingers crossed I stick with it, the machines are not easy to clean!

So here is what we have been up to and loving this week for our #littleloves of happiness.

Read

I have been trying to catch up on blogs I love and my commenting in December was poor (sorry everyone) but I am on a mission to make up for it. I have loved these posts this week…

  • Sometimes It’s Hard To Be A Woman – More Than Toast
  • Style In Your City – Wild & Grizzly
  • The Queen of Empty Threats – Hurrah for Gin
  • Things We Love About Winter – Life At The Little Wood

Heard

I have been listening to the sound of my own voice (I know cringe) and I realized that when I try to speak louder and more clear my voice often cuts out or comes out croaky like I am about to lose it. This is not a good thing for a vlogger if I can’t speak clearly. So I have been trying to find ways to fix it. Someone said peppermint tea? Another recommended a mini microphone? I have had surgery on my vocal chords before and I am just worried I will have to do it again or worse I am losing my voice all together, forever. I know extreme! A true tragedy for a blabber mouth like me! So while I still can I will share my latest vlog with you.

Watched

I have been watching Mike & Molly. A silly USA comedy show that is only 30 minutes long each week but sometimes I am in need of a little OTT cheesy tv to relax and laugh at. Mr P thinks its stupid and that I am crazy when I snort with laughter in my coffee while watching it. I love cheesy USA tv, I really can’t help it.

Wore

We were so excited this week to get asked to review some Mayoral girl designer clothing for Missy Moo. She took it in stride too smiling and having fun with the camera. I was impressed. I thought it was going to take me hours trying to get her to pose and smile. She even pointed to her butterfly hair clips and asked for one in her hair. A true model in the making, I shutter to think. lol

Made

I made this Fruit Puff Pastry Tart for an afternoon treat the other day. I literally had some left over puff pastry and thought I would just throw some brown sugar on top and bake. Then I found some fruit in the fridge too and this recipe was born. I love when a recipe comes from nothing but the remnants of the fridge. They are the best kind and it took me five minutes to make up and ten minutes to bake. Boom, you have yourself a tasty treat for the whole family.

And lastly…

I am so excited that I have been asked to cohost Me & Mine family portrait project over at Dear Beautiful along side so many amazing bloggers I love and admire. I would love it if you joined in with your family captures, it opens up tomorrow until mid February. You can link up from my blog post or any other cohosts if you like. It was such a great project to be involved with last year and really made me get out from behind the camera and get in the photos with my kids and husband without it I wouldn’t have some many snapshots and great memories of all of us together.

Linking up with the gorgeous and lovely Morgana at Butwhymummywhy for her #littleloves and the amazing and beautiful Vic at Vevivos for #PoCoLo

  1. Those tarts look yum, anything with fruit and pastry has my vote!
Sorry to read that your voice still isn’t good, I’d pop over to the doctors if I were you and maybe look up some vocal warm exercises?
Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend with the family xxx

  3. Oh no, not your voice?! I think this is your trademark, it really would be a tragedy to loose it. Fear not, I’m sure it will be there for decades to come. As for Missy Moo, how cute does she look? A model in the making for sure! x

  4. Your fruit tart looks lovely. I often chuck leftover meats and cheeses into pastry for tea but have never used it for a sweet dish. I’ll have to check out me and mine. I have very few shots of the kids all together, it’s like rustling a bag of snakes to get them all in one place looking at one thing! x

    • Oh I know the feeling darling I bet and plead and bribe my entire family for them each month. Yes do join in. I wouldn’t have family photos of all of us otherwise. Lol thanks oh yes puff pastry is the best for sweet things. Even just baked with sugar on top like a donut. Yummy. I will have to try meet and cheese on it. Never had a savory one. Haha

  8. I’m trying out the juicing as well, we did the three day detox last year – never again, so looking forward to doing one juice a day, but I know what you mean about cleaning the machine! After reading this, I’ll also be trying out those fruit tarts. 🙂 Have a great weekend xxx

    • Oh the fruit tarts are so easy to make and so much more filling and nice than juicing detox. hahahah Those machines are a pain to clean four time a day during the detox. I really need to do more exercise with it all though to do anything. lol Been lazy for too long.

  11. Sounds like it’s been a very eventful week for you! I love watching sitcoms just to unwind from a busy day. There’s plenty for me to choose from, but reruns of Friends are always my go-to. I can’t get enough of those. I’ve saved your pastry tart recipe and can’t wait to try them! I’m trying to get my daughter to eat a variety of foods, and this one might be a good one for her to try. Hope the weather holds up and you have a great weekend!

She’s got modelling potential for sure…and as for those tarts? Delish…what a great way to get another one of your five-a-day. Sorry to hear about your voice – I don’t really know much about what might be causing it but it does sound like you should have it looked at by an ENT specialist. Have a super weekend! Ax

I love the look of that fruit puff, the interview with Charlotte is fab and I noticed the info on Mike and Molly earlier and quite like the look of it 🙂 Oh, and for the throat – try naturall lemon with a spoon of honey – works wonders for me! Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo x

    • Thanks hunny for the tips on the throat. I will try some natural lemon and honey. I will try anything at this point. Juicing is great I have noticed I get a belly ache if I do too much. Will have to go from juicing to smoothies and back and forth. Thanks I am trying to get better. Would love to interview you sometime too for my bloggers interview! 🙂
